"You see this? Here, take it."
Chris smiled and rolled down his window and gave Darryl the ten thousand dollars he had previously earned from the system, he smiled a little foolishly to act drunk.
"I can’t take this, Sir, it’s too much money."
Darryl instantly shoved the money back into Chris’s hand, he was smiling and looked unbothered with it.
"You! This glove box has another ten thousand, so take it."
Chris closed half his eyes and gave the money back to Darryl, he almost insisted upon giving the ten thousand dollars to Darryl.

Chris, seeing the notification popping up smiled, Darryl, touching the money and seeing the drunk young man, felt pity. He wanted to go back and dial Howard Mansion, but Chris was holding his wrist gently.
"Not only this glove box, I have ten thousand in my closet."
"Then ten thousand under the bed."
"Then in the mini fridge in my room."
"Even inside my schoolbag, I have ten thousand dollars."

Chris saying these lines behaved a little drunken because people want to let drunk people finish their sentences before interrupting them, the cold wind was bothering his performance as he gave his coat to Grace, otherwise, his performance would have been natural.
"I understand. I know you have a lot of money, but still I can’t take it, sir. Here, I will take this hundred dollars, you can take back the rest of them."
Darryl, the old security guard, was a kind man, he looked at the boy, who was clearly drunk. He couldn’t take advantage of him, and he was related to the Howards, which is scary as it is.
He returned the whole stack after keeping one note. Chris nodded his head in satisfaction, he just made fifty grand, so he let the old guard go. Darryl, with a smile, went back to his box and opened the gates for him. If you say to these rich young n that they are drunk, they take offense, and he doesn’t think he has the right to say anything about it.
Chris’s car left the Silverpine Ridge with a smooth curve, as soon as his car disappeared from his eyes, Darryl called the Howard mansion, just to let them know sohow while closing the gate.
*Ring-Ring*
Grace was standing in the middle of the hall and wiping her nose with a tissue when the intercom rang, she went ahead and received the call. The long white fur coat fell on the ground in the process, but she instantly took it in her hand.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Ma’am, this is Darryl from the Community Gate. I just wanted to inform you that the young man who left just now might be drunk. The reason I am saying this is because he offered ten thousand dollars. I might be wrong, I just wanted to let you know."
"What? What color of car was he driving?"
Grace could not believe Chris was drunk because he refused alcohol the whole evening. Even though she was not drunk, she tried so wine, she sniffed her nose a bit as she asked the question.
"It was green, mint to be very exact. I know that young man, he’s very handso. His eyes are the sa color as his car. I took a hundred dollars to calm him down, I can return it now."
Darryl’s voice was candid, he was really regretting not stopping Chris sooner. The boy was very polite every ti he ca here, he always smiled seeing the old Darryl.
"Chris was drunk? What was he saying? Tell clearly."
Grace was imdiately concerned about Chris, both coats she was wearing are now on the floor. She could not care less about them in this mont.
"Well, he suddenly pulled up and offered ten thousand dollars in cash. I refused, and then he told about how he has lots of money, and he looked really happy giving money for so reason."
Darryl reported what he understood was the truth. Grace, on the other hand, was frowning, this was not Chris’s character at all. What the hell happened? He was clearly sober when he left.
"Alright, you can keep the money. Thank you for the call."
Grace hung up the call, she was so confused that nothing was coming to her mind. She went to the couch and grabbed her cell phone to call Chris over this, such a responsible man won’t be drunk while driving.
"What happened? Why are you panicking like a little chicken? Chris is gone? "
Faith’s voice ca from the stairs as she walked down, seeing Grace’s face, she asked with concern. Grace paused hearing Faith’s voice, then walked up to her and explained what happened.
"So he is giving money? Damn! Is he happy because he is set on inheriting millions through you?"
Faith smiled and teased, but she was also thinking hard: what can happen to make a man like Chris this happy? It was surely not the inheritance thing, it was sothing else. She could guess this much.
"Wait, after I left, describe what happened. Don’t worry, he’s not drunk."
Faith patted her sister’s shoulders gently to reassure her. Both of them had been teasing each other since childhood, but when push cos to shove, they have each other’s back, like when in elentary school Grace beat a boy because he was an to Faith.
"A... After you left, we talked about things, like how he wanted to take to Europe, then I walked to his car to see him off, and then we k...kissed. "
Grace explained while stamring a little, and a blush crept up on her face as she disclosed this information. Faith, hearing it, laughed out loud like a loud bird, even her laughter sounded like a lody.
"Sigh! It’s nothing but happiness, not a drunk man. Love can make even a sane man mad. You bring chips, I’ll bring so wine, your room or mine?"
Faith asked, as she was all about gossip about her sister. When Grace hesitated a bit, Faith pulled her phone out and showed Grace the picture she clicked, it was Grace hugging Chris when he first ca in.
"It can be yours."
"My room"
Grace replied, "Then you can see both sisters running around excitedly, the whole kitchen staff saw them entering and leaving like a flash."
.....
Chris’s car entered the alley where ’Harper Dine’ was, it slowly got parked beside a truck. Chris got out and instantly felt the chill because he was just wearing a turtleneck.
His ho was just upstairs of the Harper Dine, so he hurried to the building, and as he got upstairs, he saw his dad standing outside in the cold smoking a cigarette.
"I can see the old jacket in your trunk."
Dan suddenly spoke when he saw Chris. Chris looked at his dad and could see his lips were blue and he looked a bit pale.
"I was too lazy to look for it. You don’t have to wait for like this, you will get sick. You should have called ."
Chris replied while unlocking his door. His dad was never around when he grew up, it was his sister who took care of him. Both of them wanted to give each other the ti they lost, but as adult n, they don’t know how.
