"Yes, just keep driving in this direction. When we get close, I’ll let you know!"

Having given these instructions, Chu Feng, seated in the back of the police car, closed his eyes, appearing to rest.

Boris and Sara, who was driving, exchanged glances, envy for the Exorcist’s magical thods simultaneously reflected in their eyes. If only we had such abilities, solving cases would be so much easier! they both lanted internally. Unfortunately, Exorcists these days are naturally awakened, and it seems neither of us has that talent.

「Half an hour passed quickly.」

In the silent police car, a sharp voice suddenly broke the quiet atmosphere.

"Turn right ahead!"

The drowsy Boris was instantly jolted awake by the sudden voice.

"Hmm? Are we there already?" His right hand instantly went to the gun holster at his waist.

His reaction speed is incredible! He truly lives up to being a ’battle-hardened’ New York police officer! Chu Feng thought.

"Soon! We’re getting very close!" As he watched the cursor in his mind draw nearer, a cold glint flashed in Chu Feng’s open eyes.

"Wait! Isn’t this... isn’t this near Central Hospital?" Boris, finally making out their surroundings, exclaid in surprise.

Watching Central Hospital gradually approach on the left side of the police car, a playful smile touched Chu Feng’s lips. "It seems they’ve grasped the principle of ’the darkest place is under the candlestick’ quite well! A pity, but what use is it?"

「A few minutes later.」

The police car carrying the three of them stopped in front of an old residential building.

"Is that bastard really here?" Boris asked Chu Feng with so astonishnt, looking at the mottled residential building. In old residential buildings like this, residents usually all know each other. Wouldn’t it be inconvenient to hide here? he wondered.

"Yes, right here. Think about it, you didn’t even realize he was pretending to be Chief Pierce, did you?"

With that, Chu Feng strode confidently into the residential building.

On the third floor of the building, Chu Feng had just stepped out of the stairwell. He imdiately encountered an old lady whose face was a canvas of deep wrinkles. She leaned on a walking stick, pulling a suitcase, her steps unsteady.

"Ma’am, where are you headed?" As they were about to pass each other, Chu Feng raised his right arm, blocking her path.

"You... you... what do you want? I don’t have any money!" The old lady seed startled and took two steps back, eyeing Chu Feng warily.

Chu Feng’s lips twisted into a mocking smile. "Hmph, quite the convincing act!"

"Go away! If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police!"

Sensing Boris and Sara approaching through his Spiritual Perception, the smile on Chu Feng’s lips widened.

"Call the police? I don’t think that will be necessary. I’ve already brought the police to you!"

Just as Chu Feng finished speaking, Boris and Sara erged from the stairwell.

"Chu Feng, what’s going on? Who is this elderly person?"

"Elderly person? Boris, take another look at her now, why don’t you?"

Startled by these words, Boris quickly turned to look towards the old lady. But all he saw was a figure hurriedly shutting an iron gate.

"See? He is the ’bastard’ you’ve been talking about!"

The mont Chu Feng finished speaking, he vanished. When he reappeared, he was already before the rickety iron gate.

BANG!

With a loud crash, the previously sturdy iron gate disappeared from its fra.

"AH... AH..."

From inside the house, pained screams erupted as the iron door vanished.

Chu Feng entered and saw that the iron door he had kicked in had pinned soone against the wall. Judging by the man’s grotesquely misaligned leg bones, they were clearly shattered.

He recognized the clothes; they were the ones worn by the old lady from monts before. However, the person beneath them had completely changed. It was a frail white male with only a light stubble. His skin was so smooth that at first glance, he almost looked female. If not for his Adam’s apple, Chu Feng might have indeed been mistaken.

"Stop screaming! No one can save you!" Grabbing the man’s foot, Chu Feng dragged him onto the nearby floor, ignoring his piteous wails.

"Where’s that arrogance you had in front of now? Co on, show it!" Chu Feng firmly stepped on the man’s ankle, slowly grinding it a few tis.

As the man’s howls suddenly intensified, Chu Feng squatted beside him, feigning surprise as if he’d just noticed the broken leg. "Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t see your broken leg! How could you be so careless to break it?"

"Go to hell!"

The piteous howling ceased instantly. The man on the ground, from sowhere, produced a bizarre dagger wreathed in pitch-black mist. As Chu Feng squatted, the man suddenly stabbed towards Chu Feng’s chest.

Slow! Way too slow! Your strength is far too lacking! he thought. The dagger moved like a snail in Chu Feng’s perception. He casually lifted his right hand and, in an instant, firmly grasped the man’s wrist. The man struggled, but to no avail.

Hmm? This power... it’s not Spiritual Power! Chu Feng realized. That weak power is definitely not Spiritual Power! Bizarre, ominous, evil... This is certainly not a power that belongs to the Human World!

"Tell , where did you get this power from?" Chu Feng’s eyes were fixed intently on the man’s bloodshot eyes, waiting for an answer.

"Want to know? Go ask damn God! PTOOEY!"

A golden light suddenly flared from Chu Feng, deflecting the man’s insulting spit. Chu Feng stood up again.

"So, you’ve chosen the hard way!" Chu Feng’s right foot pressed down again on the dislocated bone. As he slowly increased the pressure, what sounded like a ’cheer’—a high-pitched shriek of agony—tore from the man’s throat.

"Can you talk now?"

The man’s face was now ashen, veins bulging on his neck. He looked like he couldn’t hold on much longer.

"..."

Seeing the man’s defiant silence, Chu Feng gradually increased the pressure under his foot.

CRACK!

Another sharp snap followed.

"Stop... stop... I’ll talk! I’ll talk! It’s the Holy Advent Society. My power cos from the Holy Advent Society!" After fumbling at his chest for a while, the man produced a black goat’s head badge that looked all too familiar to Chu Feng.

"This thing is our symbol. Every mber has one."

"So, was it your doing as well, kidnapping the son of New York’s wealthiest man, Mancini?"

"It... it should be! If those people had one of these!"

"Should be?" Chu Feng asked, sowhat surprised.

"I can’t be certain. After all, I’m just a low-ranking mber of the Holy Advent Society. I don’t know much!"

"Are there any more of your strongholds in New York?"

"That... I’m not quite sure! No—please... let explain!" Seeing Chu Feng’s expression change and his right foot poised to stomp down again, the man turned pale and hurriedly pleaded.
