"Alright, tell about the situation inside!"

Boris, though confused, didn’t press the matter.

"The hospital lost all contact last night. When our people received the alarm, they imdiately rushed here, but after they entered, they too lost contact with us."

At this point, Boris’s expression turned ugly.

"After sensing sothing was off, we dispatched more people. The result was the sa: everyone who went in lost contact. That’s when we imdiately realized sothing bizarre must have happened here!"

Chu Feng looked around at the dozen or so Exorcists, each holding a variety of exorcism tools, and furrowed his brows.

"Then, you called in all these Exorcists?"

"These are just the Exorcists who recently arrived. Those who ca earlier have already been sent in!"

As he said this, Boris nodded toward the hospital.

Hearing that most of the Exorcists had already been sent into the hospital, Chu Feng suddenly had a bad feeling.

"Whose order was this?"

"Erm, it was Chief Pierce. Chu, is there sothing wrong?"

Seeing Chu Feng’s unpleasant expression, Boris was sowhat puzzled.

"There’s a big problem here! Hasn’t a single Exorcist co out?"

"Indeed, not a single person has co out. But I only arrived a short while ago; I watched those Exorcists go in. They should still be carrying out their Exorcism Task right now," Boris said nonchalantly, glancing at his watch.

"I hope I’m wrong about this," Chu Feng murmured.

"Don’t worry, Chu. With so many Exorcists acting together, nothing will go wrong!"

Boris patted Chu Feng’s shoulder, speaking with full confidence.

Facing Boris’s optimism, Chu Feng shrugged noncommittally. He couldn’t help but feel suspicious of Pierce, the new chief of the New York Police Departnt.

Standing beside the police car, Chu Feng scrutinized the exterior of Central Hospital. He saw nothing unusual, aside from the complete lack of any signs of life. It still looked like the sa "money pit" that was usually bustling with activity.

"Boris, I should go in too. Otherwise, certain people are going to cause trouble!"

As he spoke, Chu Feng glanced at Pierce’s grim face in the distance.

"Okay, Chu. Just be very careful."

"Don’t worry. At the very least, I can take care of myself!"

Waving to Boris, Chu Feng casually walked towards the hospital entrance.

Pushing open the hospital doors, Chu Feng felt as if he had stepped into another world.

The first-floor lobby was silent, covered in crimson blood. Severed limbs lay scattered in the pools.

The air was thick with the acrid sll of sulfur.

"Alright, it looks like sothing from Hell has indeed co over!"

After taking a careful whiff of the acrid air, Chu Feng sighed deeply. The images of his last near-death experience were still vivid; he hadn’t expected to confront denizens of Hell again so soon.

With a flip of his palm, an exquisite AA-12 shotgun appeared in Chu Feng’s hands. After checking the drum magazine, he carefully stepped over the remains of a police officer on the floor and moved further inside.

He glanced at the Spirit-Seeking Compass on his wrist, only to find its needle swinging back and forth, unable to settle on a direction.

"What’s going on? Could the Spirit-Seeking Compass be broken?"

Chu Feng tapped the Spirit-Seeking Compass, rapping it a few tis, but the needle continued its erratic dance, swinging wildly.

"System, you didn’t give a defective product, did you? How could it break so soon?"

Seeing that his attempts to fix it were ineffective, Chu Feng quickly called upon the System.

"DING! The System has detected that this dium-grade Spirit-Seeking Compass is operating normally and has not malfunctioned."

"Then why is its needle still swaying?"

Hearing the System’s explanation, Chu Feng was genuinely puzzled.

"Host, please explore the specific reason yourself!"

After giving this prompt, the System’s dialogue box vanished from Chu Feng’s mind.

Explore it myself? The Compass isn’t broken?

After so thought, having roughly understood the reason, Chu Feng took the Demon Hunting Blade he had recently acquired from his Storage Space and secured it at his waist, ready for imdiate use.

Chu Feng entered the ergency building of Central Hospital. Jas had been placed in an observation room on the second floor after losing consciousness, and Kelly’s mother had also been staying there.

In the silent space, only the TAP-TAP of Chu Feng’s cautious footsteps and the SIZZLING of a faulty overhead light tube could be heard. The inquiry desk before him was devoid of any nurses; only a splash of fresh blood stained the wall behind it.

What a pity. I rember a shapely blonde beauty standing here that day. Looks like I’ll never see her again, Chu Feng thought with a shake of his head.

Just as he was about to check the nearby pharmacy, a RUSTLING sound ca from inside the inquiry counter.

"Hmm?"

Hearing the noise, Chu Feng imdiately raised his shotgun and cautiously approached the inquiry desk.

As his view inside the inquiry desk gradually cleared, a figure in a light purple nurse’s uniform, squatting on the ground, ca into sight.

"Hey! Stop gnawing. Ti to receive your guest!"

At Chu Feng’s words, the squatting figure instantly froze, a low, beast-like growl rumbling from its throat.

Then, it whirled around, revealing a completely putrid face to Chu Feng.

Below a pair of grayish-white eyes, only shreds of rotting flesh clung to its face; most of what remained was bloodstained, ghastly white bone.

Heh, even ghouls are out. That old lady certainly caused a huge stir! Chu Feng thought.

Catching the faint, sulfurous, rotten scent in the air, a smirk touched Chu Feng’s lips as he aid the shotgun at the ’nurse’ preparing to pounce.

BANG!

After the deafening gunshot, the headless ghoul collapsed heavily onto the ground.

"DING! Congratulations, Host! You have killed a ghoul. You will receive the following rewards:

1. Strength Attribute 2, ntal Attribute 1, Spiritual Power Attributes 2.

2. Lifespan 0.5 years."

Heh! Such ager rewards?

Seeing the System’s scant rewards for the ghoul, Chu Feng scoffed disdainfully, clearly disappointed by its lack of strength.

After casually applying the ager rewards, Chu Feng slowly walked towards the nearby dication pickup window.

BANG!

Chu Feng kicked open the pharmacy door and walked in. It was his first visit to the pharmacy of an Eagle Sauce Hospital, so he was sowhat curious. However, after looking around, he realized that aside from a large quantity of various painkillers, there was nothing particularly special.
