The smoke from the explosion hadn’t yet cleared when a rain of bullets shot towards the place where Chu Feng had just been standing.
"When did you damn cultists start getting smart!" Chu Feng’s sowhat perplexed voice ca from within the smoke, accompanied by several grenades flying out like cannonballs.
"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM..."
Another series of explosions erupted, this ti right beneath the feet of the cultists.
These cultists clearly had no understanding of Chu Feng’s defensive power. Faced with countless flying shrapnel and the shockwaves from the explosions, the cultists in the hall were all on the ground in the blink of an eye.
Most of the cultists went straight to Hell. A few lucky ones were emitting painful wails, engaged in futile death throes.
"Why bother? Let just send you directly to et your so-called Evil God!" Chu Feng shook his head with a smile, and the M17 pistol appeared in his hand again. After a few shots rang out, silence finally fell upon the entire hall.
"Co out now! Is there a need to hide any longer?" Chu Feng’s sudden shout echoed in the empty hall.
Not believing that a cult’s headquarters would have only a few underlings, Chu Feng had a sudden inspiration and decided to try calling out.
After an unknown amount of ti, just as Chu Feng thought that maybe there really was no one else, an anomaly occurred!
Beneath the corpses of the dead cultists, countless streams of blood began surging like a tide under the influence of a mysterious power. The crimson blood gathered toward another direction.
"Damn Exorcist! I didn’t expect you to dare find this place!"
Just as Chu Feng’s gaze sharpened, looking in the direction the blood was flowing, a furious roar suddenly resonated in the empty hall.
Chu Feng narrowed his eyes and felt a tiny skip in his heart but ignored that roar.
Instead, he continued to focus on the slowly converging blood.
"I’ll tear you to shreds! Offer you to the great Evil God!" another voice bood.
Just as Chu Feng was about to act in response, yet another roar erupted, clearly trying to interrupt his movent.
"’Cult rats, in your next life rember to take so acting lessons!’" Chu Feng sneered inwardly at their clumsy attempt at misdirection. A jar of snow-white fine salt, imbued with Spiritual Power and faintly glowing with spiritual light, instantly appeared in his hand.
He twisted the lid gently, and a flurry of fine salt like snowflakes was scattered over all the areas where the blood was present.
"F**K, damn Exorcist!" As the salt fell, from the edge of the blood ca an exasperated howl.
At the sa ti, bizarre black smoke rose out of the blood that had fully mingled with the fine salt.
"Hmm, just as I thought! A clumsy ruse!"
His palm flashed open, and the exquisite fra of an AA-12 shotgun instantly materialized in his hand.
After checking it briefly, Chu Feng stepped towards the direction from which the voice had co.
In a large room connected to the hall stood a man in a blood-red suit. A fist-sized ball of crimson blood floated above his hand as he stared hatefully at Chu Feng’s image on the monitor.
As the Exorcist on the screen drew closer, the man turned his head. His eyes hesitantly fell upon the ball of crimson blood in his hand. Just as he wavered, the footsteps from outside grew increasingly distinct.
With the enemy rapidly approaching, his expression suddenly turned vicious. He threw the ball of blood into his mouth.
With the sound of swallowing, the man’s bulky body instantly collapsed. It ford a round pool of blood about two ters in diater on the ground. Above it, a Pentagram Formation, marked with countless bizarre symbols, was faintly visible.
As the Array gradually lit up with a crimson glow, a slender figure slowly erged in the middle of the pentagram.
"Yo! Are you transforming?"
Just then, Chu Feng kicked open the room’s door and barged in.
Looking at the bizarre, blood-red figure in the center of the room, Chu Feng scratched his head. After all, he had never seen a red skeleton before.
"Damn Exorcist! If it weren’t for you, how could I have only completed half of the reincarnation ritual!" The red skeleton’s eye sockets lit up with two balls of bloody light. Upon seeing Chu Feng, who had burst in, it let out an angry roar and charged straight at him.
Watching the skeleton defy the pull of gravity as it rushed through mid-air, Chu Feng revealed a hint of a smile.
"I like you, moving target!"
"BANG! BANG! BANG."
After three loud gunshots, the blood-red skeleton was blasted into countless fragnts scattered across the room’s floor.
Looking at the empty system panel, Chu Feng’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. Not dead yet?
He kicked a piece of bone next to him into the corner of the room, then glanced at the Spirit-Seeking Compass on his wrist.
The Compass needle pointed toward the center of the room, still trembling slightly.
I knew it, not dead yet! A chill flashed in Chu Feng’s eyes.
"’You wretched thing, do you think playing dead will work?’" Chu Feng called out.
As his words fell, a gloomy voice suddenly rang out, "I really underestimated you!"
The countless blood-red bone fragnts on the ground suddenly began to reassemble, drawn together by a mysterious red glow.
Watching the red skeleton reappear in the center of the room, Chu Feng’s AA-12 roared to life once again.
"BANG! BANG! BANG."
The sa three bullets once more shattered the red skeleton into countless pieces.
Yet the system panel still showed no reward information.
Still not dead?
After three more gunshots, the red skeleton again broke into countless pieces.
...
After several more rounds, the red skeleton, appearing once again, finally let out a frustrated and furious roar.
"’How exactly did you know?’" the skeleton roared.
Hearing its anger, Chu Feng couldn’t help but laugh. "I just wanted to see if the bit of fresh blood you absorbed was enough for you to co back a few tis! It looks like you’ve hit your limit now, haven’t you?"
"’Damn Exorcist, you’re playing !’" the red skeleton shrieked. It instantly realized that the Exorcist in front of him had known its trump card all along and charged at him in a humiliated fury.
As the skeleton rushed forward, Chu Feng was about to pull the trigger and send it on its way.
But then sudden, dense footsteps ca from outside the room.
Both paused. Chu Feng turned to look. A group of about a dozen corporate-looking people ard with guns was storming toward the room.
"’Followers of the Evil God, it’s ti for you to offer up your lives for the Evil God!’" the red skeleton shouted excitedly. Chu Feng’s expression changed dramatically.
This skeleton obviously wants to use the cultists’ blood to complete its final ritual.
As expected, upon hearing the shout, the cultists aid their guns at their companions.
Complete the ritual? In your dreams!
A thought sparked in Chu Feng’s mind, and the Four Symbols Spirit Trapping Formation instantly shrank its range, tightly enveloping the room where he and the red skeleton were.
