Chapter 83: Iris: Trending again

I wake up to the sll of lavender and the hardness of Lucas’ chest that I’m lying on.

His skin is a deep shade of red that I’ve never seen before. When I rub my eyes and look at it again, my cheeks heat up.

I was too rough last night. I’ve never left hickeys so visible and deep on anyone before. It’s almost like I was trying to mark him as mine like the vampires do. Running my hands on them, I smile to myself as the images of

biting him everywhere last co flashing back.

This one must hurt a lot.

I poke at the darkest one of them all, hissing at myself when I see the teeth marks still visible on the skin. Was I trying to eat him last night? Why yes you were Iris, you even took in all of him deep down your throat—

"Having fun playing with my nipples? If you keep it up we might have to go for another round even though you’re sore," cos Lucas’ deep drowsy voice. His hand wraps around my back and I giggle like an idiot.

"I was eating you alive last night and you didn’t even complain? Do you have so kind of fetish?"

"Yeah. A fetish that ca to be because of you. Mind you you’re the only one who can quench it."

"There you go again being Mr. Romantic."

"You don’t like it?"

"I do."

Smirking, he flips himself up and is above

the next mont before crashing our lips together and kissing

ever so slowly. I close my eyes and let him take

on this morning blissful journey.

"Good, because I was beginning to wonder if I’ve already failed as your boyfriend."

Boyfriend.

It still feels unreal that we’re a couple now, but there’s no denying all the evidence lying before . The necklace, these morning kisses, the unbelievable night we had, and now this gentle reminder from him—Lucas confessed last night and I said yes.

"You haven’t," I soothe him. "How can you when you know everything I like as if I’m another version of you?

"You are. Every piece of you."

My heart does that puddle thing where it warms up my entire body and sends butterflies flipping my stomach upside down. I let out the frustration on him, hugging the hell out of his naked body as I wrapped my legs around him.

"Let’s stay like this for a little while longer. I think I might stay the weekend with you here."

"What about grandma and grandpa?"

I laugh at his question like he said the most unbelievable joke I’ve ever heard, patting his skin lightly as if I’m about to show a kid how the world works.

"I don’t think they care where I am right now. They’ve been pestering

to go out and have fun ever since I started college, but you know how nerds can be. We stay holed inside our rooms, reading books or watching ani for fun."

"Isn’t that depressing?"

"It’s not when you enjoy it," I shrug. "But it can be a bit annoying sotis. Maybe it’s just , but I felt like I was missing out a lot whenever I saw my friends looking like they were having fun on their social dia pages. So are even content creators now."

"You’re one too. Tim and Paul told

you are uploading your novel on a Webnovel application. How is it going?"

"Wow, did they now? But they promised to...I swear I’m going to kill them when we et."

"Did it flop?"

"No. I’ve just signed a contract with the company behind the scenes and I’m waiting for them to send a letter of approval l."

Lucas suddenly sits up straight, pulling

along with him such that I straddle his lap and can see the top of his head. "Did you read it before signing? Don’t they suppress their writers? How much profit are you going to make from it once you sign the contract?"

"Woah there, they haven’t agreed to the contract yet, but I do get where you’re coming from. I did my research on the company and the information is too distorted for

to figure out where I stand. But I’ve decided to use it to grow my audience and when I finally have a good number of readers, I’ll try and do self-publishing on Amazon then."

Lucas slowly nods, rubbing my naked back with his thumb. "That’s a great idea for a starter. Not that I know how writers do it but I think it’ll also help you write better articles in the future."

"I know right? How co you get

so much even though we haven’t spent much ti around each other?"

"Because I love you," is all he says before kissing my cleavage.

I smile at him, rubbing the back of his hair and kissing his head. "I know. I love you too, Luke."

"Wanna watch movies whilst we’re lying in bed?"

"Yes, but let’s go and eat first."

"Good call."

It takes a bit more ti for us to finally leave the bed and each other, but we get dressed soon and are down the stairs the next mont. Tim and Paul are already eating breakfast when we sit on the stools by the island.

The mont we arrive, Tim swings into action and starts plating the waffles he made alongside the fruits and eggs. That ti I lived with them for two weeks made

realize just how much he hates soone doing his work for him.

I used to think it was just him being courteous, but when he caught

one day making a banana smoothie by myself at three in the morning after being too ashad to call him in the night, he went bananas on .

That was the first ti I’ve ever seen him angry with

and ever since then I’ve let him do his job even if it ans being shaless as to let him do all the work alone whilst I sit.

"Morning guys," Lucas greets them as he sits next to , pulling

into a light hug as though we weren’t spooning each other in his room a while ago.

The boys don’t reply to him so he greets them a second ti. Much to our shock, they act as though we are scary and answer him whilst hiding their faces. I glare at Lucas. Their reaction can only an he was being tough on them whilst I was away, but the shocked look on his face tells

he is just as surprised as I am about their reaction. So I turn back to them.

"What’s wrong you guys? Did sobody die?"

Tim returns to the island when he’s done plating, placing the plates in front of us and going back to his seat which is right next to mine. He fidgets with his bonnet for a while and looks at Paul. The two do a mini stare-down whose intentions I don’t understand at all, and it looks like Tim loses because he is the one to turn around and face

and Lucas.

He does this thing with his fingers I noticed he does every ti he wants to say sothing surprising—the kind of news that leaves you in shock with your mouth wide open.

"Oh my god just say it already!"

"Sir Lucas is trending again!"
