The next day, at 7:30 in the morning.
At a certain dock in Shanghai, a group of guards dressed in red uniforms gathered on the dock, along with various leaders from the Mariti Bureau. The workers on the dock curiously watched this strange scene and asked in surprise, "How odd, what are these officials doing here with such a display? And dressed so elegantly?!"
"Who knows, maybe so important leader is landing at this dock!"
"No way! These days, travel expenses are covered by the state. Who the hell takes a boat anymore? At least they’d be flying first-class! They’d get to flirt with flight attendants, otherwise, where’s the leadership vibe?"
On the dock, the workers were all discussing curiously, but the leaders had no interest in engaging with them. Instead, they instructed the dock staff to quickly clear away these workers who were not fit for such an occasion. The workers, warned by the staff, left the dock one by one, still craning their necks from afar to watch. The biggest trait of the Chinese is their love of watching the excitent; wherever there’s sothing to see, they gather around.
Even the smallest of incidents can gather a crowd of onlookers. Soon, a ship slowly appeared outside the port, docking under the guidance of the staff, a process that took more than ten minutes. The director of the Mariti Bureau hurriedly shouted, "Damn it, what’s going on with the honor guard? Why aren’t they starting the music yet?!"
At this point, the honor guard finally started playing music, as the red carpet was rolled out, strikingly bright, almost glaring, reminiscent of the blood spilled when the Heavenly Reversal Gang’s little brothers fell. Ye Chen erged from the cabin, crossed the ramp onto the dock, and stood on the bright red carpet, his expression sowhat unfriendly.
"Mr. Ye, we’ve received instructions from the higher authorities to specially co here to welco you!" The director of the Mariti Bureau, sporting a slight bald spot, with hair thinning at the top yet encircling the sides like the diterranean, spoke.
"Hmm, whose instructions?" Ye Chen asked, frowning.
"Ah? Well..." The director glanced around, then tiptoed and whispered into Ye Chen’s ear, "It’s from a central leader."
"Alright, then please arrange a car to take us back to Z Province!" Ye Chen glanced at him.
"Sure, it’s a small issue!" The director quickly smiled and said, "But Mr. Ye, aren’t you going to rest in Shanghai for a while, given the long journey?"
"No need, the brothers are in a hurry to get back ho!" Ye Chen unhesitatingly rejected the director’s suggestion.
"Al... alright then!" The director nodded awkwardly, knowing that he’d already booked several tables at the Shanghai Grand Hotel for Ye Chen’s party. If Ye Chen didn’t go, who would eat these als? If Ye Chen didn’t eat, how would he account for the expenses? The director regretted taking the initiative, realizing that instead of doing a good deed, he’d ssed things up.
Just as Ye Chen was about to leave, a commotion erupted from a short distance away, as if soone was in a dispute. The director sighed in frustration and shouted angrily, "Damn it, what’s going on over there? Can’t they see I’m welcoming a distinguished guest?"
"Yes, yes, Director, I’ll go check it out right away!" The assistant, scolded, quickly scampered over.
Not long after, the fellow ran back, panting, "Director, there’s a guy insisting on seeing Mr. Ye. That guy has already injured several guards. They’re planning to take him to the police station!"
"Wants to see ?" Ye Chen was taken aback and said, "Bring him here, let see!"
"Director, you see..." The assistant hastily looked at the director, who then angrily spat, "Is your brain made of pork? Mr. Ye said to bring the guy over, don’t you know to go get him? What are you looking at for? Do you expect to get him for you?"
"Yes, yes!" The assistant wiped the spit off his forehead and quickly went over.
The person brought over was a little brother from the Heavenly Reversal Gang. He had been sent to find Ye Chen. Jiang Wei was being treated at a hospital in Shanghai, and if Ye Chen left, he likely wouldn’t see Jiang Wei. So, he hurriedly rushed to the dock. Upon seeing Ye Chen, he gasped and said, "Brother Chen, thank goodness, you’re finally back!"
"What’s going on?" Ye Chen asked urgently.
"Brother Jiang Wei is being treated in a hospital in Shanghai; you should go see him first!" the little brother quickly replied.
"Is Jiang Wei getting treatnt in Shanghai? Didn’t he return to Tongzhou City?" Ye Chen hurriedly asked.
"No, because after coming back from Japan, he had so minor infections due to the rough seas on the ship, so he went directly to a hospital in Shanghai for treatnt!" The little brother looked at Ye Chen, and Ye Chen nodded, then turned to Feng Zhixiao and said, "Zhi Xiao, first arrange for the brothers from Luoyang Prefecture to return. The brothers from the Heavenly Reversal Gang should stay and rest at the Liu Family’s villa, and later co to the hospital to find !"
Saying this, Ye Chen imdiately left the group and got into a car with the little brother heading for the hospital, along with Da Hei who ca along.
"Hey, Mr. Ye, I prepared a welco banquet for you at noon, make sure you co on ti!" The diterranean guy saw Ye Chen leaving and hurriedly waved, but Ye Chen didn’t pay him any mind and got into the car, heading straight towards the hospital. The little brother driving was quite skilled, wildly rushing without caring about the traffic police at all, and several police motorcycles ca speeding but couldn’t catch up.
At the hospital entrance, the little brother stopped the car, and a few police motorcycles ca chasing after. These few traffic police were quite bold, tossing their bikes aside and walking up, angrily saluting Ye Chen and the others, saying, "Sorry, please show your driver’s license and vehicle registration! Also, it’d be best to include your ID card!"
"What for?" The little brother defiantly looked at the police and said coldly, "Damn it, I advise you to get lost quickly, or you’ll regret it!"
The traffic police were stunned and promptly took out their intercom and started calling for backup, indicating there was resistance to law enforcent here. The little brother instantly fud, shit, since you say I’m resisting law enforcent, then I’ll just go all in—he kicked a policeman to the ground, straddled him, and started swinging his fists hard, making the cop wail like a banshee. The two cops on the side were about to stop him but were blocked by Da Hei.
"I advise you not to make a move, or you’ll regret it!" Da Hei’s aura intimidated them. Having co down from the battlefield, Da Hei had killed quite a few people these days, exuding a strong murderous aura that ordinary people couldn’t get close to. The two traffic cops exchanged glances, standing afar, not daring to provoke Da Hei’s wrath. Da Hei’s sheer presence scared them.
"Ow, ow..." The beaten traffic cop on the ground scread continuously, hoping his two colleagues would help, but they remained indifferent. After tiring himself out, the little brother got up, rubbed his hands, and said coldly, "Beating you hurt my hand, damn it!"
Saying that, he spat on the cop and angrily said, "Rember next ti, so people’s cars are not for you to check casually!"
After that, the three turned and entered the hospital. Outside, the two terrified traffic cops hurriedly went over to help their colleague, comforting him, "Are... are you okay?"
"Damn it, how could I be okay? You two bastards just stood by and watched?!" That cop had been beaten to a pig head, no internal injuries, but his handso face was completely ruined, probably needing a good ten days or half a month to recover.
"Those... those guys were too weird, we didn’t dare to act hastily, and I doubt the three of us could beat that big guy!" The two frightened traffic cops said helplessly. Pig-head cop shouted angrily, "Then call the police! I refuse to believe this world is lawless, beating a public official in broad daylight, it’s an added cri, I want to destroy them!"
The other two traffic cops hurriedly called the police, and the headquarters imdiately sent out officers after receiving the report, with a squad of police rushing in.
Ye Chen and others directly entered the hospital, inside Jiang Wei’s ward. Jiang Wei lay at the head of the bed, his emotions very unstable. In these days of losing both legs, he almost felt his world had lost all aning, even contemplating death at tis. Unfortunately, fate didn’t give him a chance, as soone was always watching over him, giving him no opportunity to end it.
Jiang Wei just lay at the bedside, his eyes vacantly fixed on the white ceiling.
"Brother Jiang Wei, Brother Chen is here to see you!" The little brother rushed into the room, where two others were attending to Jiang Wei, and upon seeing Ye Chen and Da Hei enter, they saluted. Hearing Brother Chen had arrived, Jiang Wei’s eyes seed to regain so spark, he turned to Ye Chen and said excitedly, "Brother Chen, you... you’re here!"
"Yeah, how are you?" Ye Chen asked anxiously.
"I... I’ve been ruined!" Jiang Wei sighed and said, "Without legs, I’m even worse off than Liu the Tyrant, at least he still has one leg, but ? I’ve lost both, sigh..."
"It’s okay, the Heavenly Reversal Gang will take care of you for life!" Ye Chen said through gritted teeth, "Trust the gang, doesn’t the Heavenly Reversal Gang have the best benefits for a gang in all of China for support and recompense?"
"I... I don’t need money!" Jiang Wei said with tears in his eyes. "I need a future. I want to fight alongside my brothers, to struggle in this world together. Brother Chen, I sincerely hope that in the future I can go to Sunset City. I want to help build Sunset City with my brothers and live there."
"Sigh..." Ye Chen sighed deeply.
