Boom...
The cannon continued its attack, leaving only over a hundred garrison soldiers inside Luoyang Prefecture. If any group of a hundred n attacked now, they could easily capture the city. Unfortunately, the Wa State Tribe couldn’t spare any more troops; they could only fight desperately outside the city.
The Second Leader looked at the situation on the ground, fully confident of capturing this city. It was just a matter of ti.
"Leader, we can’t hold it!" The guard team on the right side called out for help. The general who had just left with his n had already died at the enemy’s gunpoint, and the Vice General imdiately took over. Seeing the enemy’s fierce firepower, he realized he was no match for them and could only call for help.
"Even if you can’t hold it, you must. This is an order!" Yao Yue gritted her teeth in anger and said, "If you lose, then Luoyang Prefecture is lost for good!"
"But their weapons are far more advanced than ours. They have complete sets of night vision equipnt and all-Arican gear, while ours are eliminated weapons from the forr Soviet Union, not in the sa league at all!" The soldiers were helpless; they were already outnumbered, and the enemy’s weapons were more advanced. Although the enemy had received less than a month of training from US instructors, they displayed an excellent military quality.
Overall, it’s no wonder the enemy was so confident in capturing Luoyang Prefecture.
"In war, the people are the most important; weapons are only auxiliary. You must hold fast, and our reinforcents are on their way!" Yao Yue said and imdiately cut off the radio.
The horrors of battle were far from the simplicity of television dramatizations. Death could co to anyone at any mont nearby. Every soldier had a determination that, if they were to die, they must die on the battlefield. Death on the battlefield was a form of honor and belonging—every soldier’s ideal resting place. But of course, if one could live, no one wished for death.
Yao Yue imdiately rushed out from the jungle beside them, accompanied only by two soldiers. These soldiers were not her guards; one was an orderly, and the other was responsible for carrying communication equipnt.
"You two wait here; I’ll be right back!" Yao Yue instructed solemnly.
"Leader, you can’t go; this is your command center!" The two hurried after her.
"I’m going to kill the Second Leader!" A fierce look flashed in Yao Yue’s eyes.
"It’s too dangerous; you absolutely can’t go!" The orderly pulled Yao Yue, saying, "Wherever you go, we must follow. You are the command center. You’re the brain of the team, and we must pass your orders to every corner of the troops."
Under their nagging, Yao Yue could only abandon her assassination mission. She understood her importance to the team; if she went missing, it would trendously affect the entire Luoyang Prefecture.
Suddenly, the pressure on the front battlefield lessened significantly. Yao Yue exclaid in surprise, "Ah Ping has succeeded; the rear battlefield has opened up. We can launch a full-scale attack now!"
"We don’t have many people left here!" said the orderly helplessly. "Just now, with the news from the right-wing and the front battlefield, we only have over two hundred people left. Captain Ah Ping brought over a hundred and fifty people, totaling around four hundred. We suffered nearly two hundred casualties!"
"Damn it!" Yao Yue gritted her teeth, then coldly said, "I believe the enemy isn’t faring much better!"
"No, the enemy’s losses are much smaller. They have bullet-proof suits and advanced equipnt. Leader, continuing like this is very disadvantageous for us!" The orderly was a smart young man. Though he was only responsible for passing orders, he glead crucial details from each order and ssage about the overall battlefield situation.
"What else can we do? We must hold Luoyang Prefecture. If lost, none of us can survive!" Yao Yue said through gritted teeth.
"Yes, that’s why we must wait for reinforcents!" The orderly took a deep breath and said, "A human wave tactic can scare the enemy off; even if everyone spit once, we could drown them. We must buy ti; ti is money, ti is everything."
"Alright, then hold this position!" Yao Yue nodded.
The opening of the rear battlefield put enormous pressure on the Wa State Tribe. They initially hoped to break through the city, but now it seed unlikely, forcing them to break through the encirclent and fight another day. The Second Leader gritted his teeth, saying, "We can’t give up so easily; launch a full-scale attack, and keep the cannon firing!"
"Yes!" The soldiers imdiately gathered, amassing in large numbers, with the Second Leader leading the charge from the front.
Boom...
With a loud explosion, the half-collapsing walls of Luoyang Prefecture finally crumbled under the final cannon shell. The morale of Luoyang Prefecture’s soldiers plumted. With the wall broken, if the enemy breached the external defenses, they could drive straight in. Realizing this, the soldiers felt a rush of panic.
"Haha, the wall’s broken, brothers, follow to occupy Luoyang Prefecture!" The Second Leader rejoiced, stirring the soldiers of the Wa State Tribe into a morale frenzy as they rushed forward excitedly. Yao Yue raised her arm, stood up, and shouted, "Heroes of Luoyang Prefecture, charge, block them, and don’t let them enter Luoyang Prefecture!"
The soldiers charged out in droves. A large number of soldiers lifted long spears and shot, trying to stop the enemy. However, their actions failed to deter the Wa State Tribe as their warriors surged forward and charged toward Luoyang Prefecture.
Soon, the troops on both sides engaged fiercely, hacking with large knives. Ah Ping led more than a hundred soldiers to attack simultaneously from the rear. If they broke through the enemy’s rear defenses, they could destroy the opposing cannon. The cannon was still bombarding the city walls relentlessly. Although the wall shattered, the remaining portions were over two ters high and impossible to climb without continuing shelling on that broken section.
"Won’s Army, charge!" Ah Ping led the charge, with armies of won hot on her heels, rushing forward in waves.
"Damn, they’re charging at us!" The enemy soldiers were stunned.
"Run away!" The rear defenses were thin. The Second Leader was gambling it all, completely abandoning that piece of defense. All he cared about was the city before him; he wanted to break through the city and then hold that breach desperately. Ah Ping and her forces broke through the rear defenses without a single casualty and destroyed all four cannons. Then, Ah Ping imdiately led the Female Army to sprint towards the city gate.
Yao Yue and her troops stubbornly held the front battlefield, which placed imnse pressure on Yao Yue, almost overwhelming. The enormous pressure made Yao Yue feel that the enemy was scheming, with no doubt in her mind that this attack was incited by the Aricans. Yao Yue decided that if they defended the position this ti, she would never allow the Golden Triangle to have another powerful force arise. A single mountain cannot contain two tigers—never mind the nonsense about a male and a female.
Seeing the Second Leader and others near, Yao Yue mustered every effort to fend them off. If they lost that position, Luoyang Prefecture would be a feast ready for the enemy’s taking. The mortality rate on Luoyang Prefecture’s side was too high, with the enemy extraordinarily equipped, nearly ard to the teeth. They were rely mountain bandits with weapons smuggled from China, discarded rifles from the forr Soviet Union, and so body armor, an incomparably stark contrast to the enemy’s armant—a difference like heaven and earth.
"Kill!" Captain A Ping led her forces, launching a surprise attack from behind the Second Leader. Their ergence disrupted the Second Leader and his n’s plans, causing him to exclaim in frustration, "Damn, how did they get through? Maozi, take your n and block them!"
"Yes!" The nearby soldier nodded. Maozi was a trusted confidant of the Second Leader. Entrusting him with command was reassuring, so Maozi had a force of about a hundred n. Deploying them to block the enemy breaking through from the rear was more than sufficient.
However, during the clash, A Ping’s troops clearly caught the enemy off guard. Maozi was furious. He bore a striking resemblance to the Second Leader, both sporting beards, and it was said that bearded n tended to be more reckless. From the Second Leader’s command ability in warfare, one could see he was indeed quite reckless. Maozi gritted his teeth and yelled fiercely, "Kill, don’t let them through!"
Although Maozi’s force of about a hundred wasn’t as nurous as A Ping’s one hundred fifty, the n of the Wa State Tribe were all robust adults, whereas the opponents were won. From physical strength and constitution, they were in different leagues, not to ntion Maozi’s n were well-equipped and rigorously trained. A Ping’s side was clearly disadvantageous. However, A Ping’s Won’s Army exhibited a formidable burst of force. They were won who had endured hardships, so once treated as playthings by General Kun Sha, harboring intense, frenzied hatred, intent on killing every man they could.
"Kill!" The Female Army echoed a frantic cry, grinding their teeth and eager to slaughter every vile man before them.
