“No, not at all!” The Elf Queen hurriedly shook her head, saying, “Not tired at all!”
She was a stubborn girl, one worth cherishing. However, at this mont, Ye Chen didn’t seem to have deep feelings for her. Ye Chen thought that since he had helped the Elf Clan, it was only natural for the Elf Queen to help him with a massage. After all, it was a mutual exchange. Besides, he hadn’t taken her to bed. She bit her lip, turned away from the room, and as she turned, a crystalline tear rolled down her cheek. That single tear landed precisely on Ye Chen’s brow, seeming to rge into his forehead in an instant and disappearing without a trace.
After the Elf Queen left the room, Ye Chen rubbed his dazed eyes. When he opened his eyes, the room door was already closed. With a frown, his eyes revealed a hint of confusion and surprise. He wondered aloud, “Strange, why did I suddenly have a dream?”
Little did Ye Chen know, a strange stroke of luck had already ford around him. Perhaps in the future, he would discover how fortunate it was to have received the Elf Queen’s affection.
Ye Chen looked at the silhouette of the departing Elf Queen with a sense of surprise, but it didn’t affect his sleep. So, Ye Chen simply lay back down and fell asleep. As soon as his head hit the pillow, he was deeply asleep, entering a dream, a mirage from the depths of his soul.
In his dream, Ye Chen saw ng Luo Yi, the Elf Queen, smiling at him and waving, saying as she waved, “Ye Chen, co here, co quickly. I want to see you…”
Ye Chen’s legs seed bound by sothing, as if by a rope, forcing him to take steps forward. He wanted to resist this force, but it continually pressed on him, making him strive to move forward.
“What’s going on? Why is this happening?” Ye Chen gritted his teeth, resisting this force. But ng Luo Yi, like a magical magnet, attracted him, pulling him with great strength. Clenching his teeth, Ye Chen said, “Damn it, why is it like this!”
“Ye Chen, do you not like ?” ng Luo Yi asked tearfully, looking pitiful. Ye Chen took a deep breath and replied, “ng Luo Yi, you are beautiful, and I do like you. But it seems impossible for us.”
“Why? Why is it like this? I like you so much, why don’t you like ?” ng Luo Yi cried, suddenly becoming hysterical, clearly upset by Ye Chen’s rejection. Hurriedly, Ye Chen said, “ng Luo Yi, don’t misunderstand. There is a gap between us. You are a noble queen with a vast tribe, while I am just a re human, insignificant. We are not a suitable match.”
“I don’t care about that. As long as we like each other, that’s enough. If you are willing, I can leave everything and go away with you at any mont!” the Elf Queen said urgently.
“Forget it, we are really not suitable for each other!” Ye Chen declined again.
“No!” The Elf Queen yelled urgently, “Why, why treat like this? I like you so much, yet you betray . I won’t let you leave , never let you leave. If you must leave, I’ll destroy us together. If I can’t have you, no one can!”
“Why must you do this?” Ye Chen sighed helplessly and said, “I really don’t want to argue with you. But if you insist on your way, it will benefit neither of us!”
Ye Chen assud a stance, seemingly ready for battle. However, just as he was about to fight, ng Luo Yi suddenly vanished. Ye Chen was dumbfounded, looking around, when ng Luo Yi fell from the sky, startling him completely. Her speed was so fast that within the blink of an eye, she struck Ye Chen down.
Gasp…
Ye Chen reflexively jumped up from the bed, gasping for breath, drenched in sweat as if he had just stepped out of a bath. So he felt very uncomfortable. He opened his eyes to find the darkness, curiously looking around. Human eyes have an adaptive nature in darkness. Suddenly stepping from sunlight into a dark room, one can’t see clearly. But after a while in darkness, they gradually adjust, able to see despite the darkness.
“Why did I have such a dream?” Ye Chen himself was puzzled, as so things shouldn’t be that way. So to him, this was quite bizarre.
Just then, the door opened, and a bit of light shone in from outside. ng Luo Yi entered, holding a Luminous Pearl, smiling as she said, “Ye Chen, you’re awake?”
“Mm!” Ye Chen nodded and asked, “What ti is it outside now?”
“It’s already dark outside!” ng Luo Yi glanced at Ye Chen, placing the pearl on a stand for the Light Emitting Pearl. She smiled gently and said, “You slept a long ti, all the way from noon to midnight. Hehe… You must be very tired!”
“Yes!” Ye Chen nodded, quickly getting up from the bed, smiling as he said, “A bit tired.”
ng Luo Yi didn’t know that only about half an hour had passed outside for Ye Chen, while inside the ti felt like over ten days. Curious, ng Luo Yi stated, “Yeah, it’s been over ten days, you must be exhausted!”
“Hehe…” Ye Chen chuckled awkwardly, scratching his head without explaining much to ng Luo Yi. He said, “I’ll head out now, you take a rest. Tomorrow, let’s visit the Dark Scenic Forest territory together!”
“Alright!” ng Luo Yi nodded and replied, “Okay. I’ve arranged a room for you!”
ng Luo Yi never intended to make Ye Chen stay; after all, he was from an Alien Race and the opposite gender, leaving him there would invite gossip, difficult for even her to manage.
Ye Chen nodded and left the room, feeling quite surprised, as ng Luo Yi seed very conflicted when he was leaving. She appeared as though she wanted to say sothing but found it hard to speak. Ye Chen caught this expression, yet he didn’t ask. After all, everyone has their own secrets, their own matters.
Leaving ng Luo Yi’s room, Ye Chen wandered aimlessly through the Elf territory. The night in the Elf Clan indeed signaled rest, although a few Elves wandered outside. Upon seeing Ye Chen, they placed their right hand on their heart, bowing solemnly in a greeting of utmost respect, evidently treating Ye Chen as a Heavenly God. Naturally, Ye Chen returned their respects.
Strolling through the Elf territory, Ye Chen felt utterly delighted. The air was great, and the people were wonderful. Everything proceeded orderly, with everyone seemingly forgetting warfare, as if an impending battle didn’t concern them much.
Ye Chen let out a deep breath and smiled, “What a kind-hearted tribe. Unfortunately, this world is survival of the fittest; the kind are bullied. Often the kindest are the ones who end up being killed!”
Ye Chen’s words were not baseless. After a round of wandering, he returned to his dwelling, which, though simple, was far better than others. The Elves were very hospitable, reserving the best for their most esteed guest. Ye Chen received remarkable respect from them.
Next day…
When Ye Chen awoke from his slumber, ng Luo Yi found him.
“Ye Chen, you seed too tired when you returned yesterday, so there was sothing I didn’t ask!” ng Luo Yi looked at Ye Chen earnestly and said, “Did you bring back the Ganlu? The two boxes you carried back were so heavy, but they contained not Ganlu, but tiny nuts?!”
