The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system Chapter 61 61: Mother, see how far I have come
With a fat happy smiling account balance, Alix left TFK a richer woman than she had ever been before.
For the first ti ever in a long ti, the world felt brighter and wonderful. She felt like she had many more options in life than she ever did.
In a great mood, she bought so pink carnations and paid a visit to a place where she had not been in a few months.
It was the columbarium where the ashes of her dead mother were kept.
This was a private columbarium, one which took up a small percentage of her earnings every year. But she didn't mind, it was worth it to keep her mother where she was.
She set foot inside what was a quiet and cold hall, one in which silence reigned omnipotent. As she walked across the smooth cream tiled floors, she could hear the loud clicking of her own heels. A nuisance to others, she imagined.
A few grieving people looked her way and she looked away from them, overco with a sense of sha for intruding on their private sorrow with her loud heels.
"Next ti I should rember to wear sandals." She told herself.
"Why not dump the ashes? It's a tradition of your world in so places to spread them. Isn't it?" Her system asked.
Alix winced, aghast by the suggestion made by the system.
"Why would I do such a thing? Having her here makes feel a sense of connection. Besides, with you here to make a wealthy woman I will never lack money to keep her here forever.
Maybe in future when I buy my own house I can transfer her there."
The blue elf was not finished however as ot sent images and videos to the virtual screen. "Have you thought about planting a tree and using her ashes as part of the fertilizer. I am looking at your internet and it seems that so of you believe...."
"No." She cut it off.
Everyone had a choice on how to deal with their dead loved ones. This was hers, and she would not be changing it any ti soon.
She ca to the spot where her mother's ashes were placed behind a glass panel.
It weighed heavily on her, seeing the face of her beloved mother. No matter how many tis she ca by, grief always hit her freshly as if her mother had only just died yesterday.
She placed her hand on the glass and smiled.
"Mother, I am here." She said.
She put on a brave face and held back the tears which threatened to spill from her eyes like a broken river dam.
"Mother, did you miss ?" She held up the pink carnations and showed them to the woman smiling back at her in a picture fra.
"I brought your favorite flowers, God's flowers as you often emphasized when I was young.
I brought you the biggest ones, and the most beautiful."
A lone tear escaped from her right eye and Alix held the flowers in one hand, using the other to wipe away the tear.
It did not help because the left eye played catch up, not wanting to be left behind and it produced a stream of tears of its own.
Alix laughed softly and crinkled her nose. "Great, you must be thinking that I am still such a cry baby, right?"
She placed the flowers down and opened the lock of the small glass cabinet. She took a golden pendant with the image of an ox and placed it behind the picture of herself and her mother.
"Mother I brought this for you because you were born in the year of the ox, it's to make up for all your birthdays that I missed because I was working. I chose the best for you, and it's real gold too." She said and laughed.
"Don't worry, I can afford it now. I can afford to take care of myself and nanny Luo as well. Your daughter got a lucky but annoying blue elf that has beco a guardian of sorts and it has made wealthy."
"Is that ? Are you talking about ? Can I say sothing as well?" For so reason, the blue elf was excited and jumping up and down on the virtual screen.
"I am still talking." Alix told it.
She looked at the picture of her mother and decided to share big news with her.
"Mother, I got married. It's unbelievable, right? I was here last year crying about Wei Tao and today I am married.
I think you would have liked my husband if you were here. He is nice, polite, kind and very hardworking. I am a bit clumsy at ho but he doesn't scold at all. In future, if things work out I promise to bring him over to et you."
She kissed her hand and touched the picture fra. Then, she locked the door again and put the key in her pocket.
"Mother, I am going to leave now but I will be back next month. I will visit more often from now on. Bye, pretty lady. I will see you and your pretty smile next ti."
She sighed loudly, happily and turned around, leaving with a small smile on her face.
"I didn't get to say anything." Her system complained.
"What did you want to say?" She asked.
"That you would be lost without . All credit for the gold pendant belongs to and so does the credit of the nice man you married. Ooh, let's not forget your financial security. "
"Kyaa!, you just want to claim credit for everything. I am the one who plays the ga." She reminded it.
"And I cheat for you by telling you how to kill monsters quickly, where other gars are hiding and how to entertain your fans. Look, you have three thousand points because of ." The blue elf defended itself passionately.
"Which is why I called you my guardian. A guardian stays in the back and guides not at the front to boast." She retorted.
"You told your mother everything but nothing about your fingers or playing piano again. You should add ditz to your list of shortcomings. Clumsy, ditz, thin haired, dry skinned woman." Her system so savagely told her and laughed.
"You just enjoy insulting , don't you?" She asked it.
"Why yes, yes I do." It replied proudly.
"Should I try insulting you as well? Short, fat and blue." She said and giggled.
"Fat!!" It jumped up and down, irritated.
It was Alix's turn to laugh because for once, she had the upper hand over the know it all blue elf.
And so, she returned to the car and was driven back to the city, straight to Shuhaha International to pick up Xiaobo.
Alix was still bustling in her minor victory over the system in the war of words.
"Oh by the way, earlier today, your nice husband called and you the ditzy host went on to accuse him of sleeping with older won to further his career." It shared smugly.
Alix got her phone out quickly and looked at the calls she had received since morning.
"Fruit!!" She cursed.
It was not Wei Tao she spoke to last, it was Caishen. The blue elf proudly reminded her of all that she had said to him, word for word.
Alix's eyes widened, what was she going to do?
"Host," The elf called her.
"What?" she replied.
"I win." It answered.
