464: Husband & wife in the hidden city___1 464: Husband & wife in the hidden city___1 The next morning, after a short nap in the car, Alix opened her eyes due to Caishen’s persistent shaking of her left arm.

“You are awake, we are here.” She blinked and yawned, then looked outside of the car window to see where the here was.

They had not been given a specific location to the so called hidden city.

“Ministry of water.” Alix turned to Caishen with an expression that silently said, ‘really!’.

What did a ministry have to do with the hidden city?

It definitely didn’t count as hidden because it was a public place where a lot of people constantly walked in and out.

“I am just as confused as you are but we will know why exactly we are here soon.” He told her.

Mo Sen opened his side of the door while Bi Cang opened hers and they both stepped out.

Imdiately, they were surrounded by a small delegation that ca to welco them.

It was led by the personal secretary to the minister himself and she led them inside after a one minute photo operation.

They had barely been led inside when the pictures were posted online under the title “Zhang construction makes a generous donation the the ministry of water.” Both of them were still very much confused, especially when the delegation started to thin, their bodyguards were asked to wait from an assigned room and they were led down a hall and pushed into an elevator.

Alix was disappointed with the not so royal treatnt so far.

“I half expected a red carpet and so ice cream not a forced photo op and being shoved into an elevator.” Caishen caressed her hand.

“Patience dear.” He slipped his hand through hers and they stayed close as the elevator started moving down at a high speed, like it was on a mission to crash.

“Blue smurf..” Alix called out in her mind.

“I am working on it.” The system replied.

Her breathing quickly started to pick up, the sa as her heart.

Going down so far down was sothing her mind equated with being buried deep in the ground.

The elevator beca hotter and a small microscopic wormhole opened up.

Out from it a small box popped out and fell onto the floor of the elevator.

“First treat your anxiety.” The blue smurf told her.

Caishen thought he had seen all the system related surprises when it ca to Alix until he saw that package drop out of a tunnel like space that his mind told him was a wormhole.

There was no ti to process all of this shock however as he had to ensure that his wife didn’t have another panic attack.

He tugged on her hand.

“Alix, hey, how are you feeling?” “I will be better as soon as i get so dicine in my system.” She let go of his hand temporarily and picked up the box.

With force, she tore it open, got a syringe from a bag and injected herself in the arm with a blue liquid.

“What is that?” “Anti anxiety serum.” She opened a small square shaped box and got so gum, also provided by the system.

The gum ca in small pieces which were also square in shape.

They ca in many colors, and looked liked candy.

They had a fruity taste so they could easily pass for candy, but it wasn’t candy.

It was also dicine ant for treating patients that suffered from anxiety.

“Mmm, do you want so?” she held the open box in front of him.

Caishen took at least five, and he threw them all into his mouth at once.

One of his greatest pleasures now was tasting everything that she got from the world.

It was fascinating to him how snacks from the other side were so similar and yet different from the ones on earth.

“It’s not candy hubby slow down.

This is dicine, it’s sweet but it’s still dicine for anxiety.

It releases a chemical that trick the mind into…” she looked up and grimaced.

She was explaining a whole lot but barely new what the dicine did.

The elevator finally stopped and open.

Outside, Maggie and Mantis were waiting for them, along with a scrawny pale man in glasses.

“Mr and Mrs.

Zhang…..” Maggie started with a smile.

“She doesn’t look like a dragon.” The scrawny man leaned forward and observed Alix from up close.

He cut into Maggie’s welco speech and the man shot the professor an unappreciative look.

“I don’t exactly walk around as one.” Alix responded.

Caishen stood up and put himself between her and the man.

Before introductions were made, all new faces were potential dangers to his wife.

“Sorry.” the professor said and he backed away.

“I am professor J, or professor bear as the kids call .” “Not all of us are kids.” Maggie chid in.

The professor gave way for Alix and Caishen to step out of the elevator and they were escorted onto the train.

Caishen was filled with questions, hundreds of them, starting with how deep underground they were followed by how the train tracks had been built without anyone in the city noticing.

The train itself was a marvel, it was beautiful, comfortable and incredibly speedy.

If he could compare it to anything, it was like the inside of a luxury private plane.

Alix was not calm like her husband who was soaking it all in patiently like a plant enjoying the sun.

She jumped from one end to another, walked through the train as much as she could and she still didn’t get to its end.

“How long is this thing?” she asked Maggie.

“Every month they make new adjustnts so we don’t know.

You can talk to those with engineering systems, they will explain what you need to know.” “Why don’t we have trains like this on the surface?” Professor J offered Alix a can of soda.

“This one cost more than six billion to construct and even now, it’s still in a trial phase.

It’s an AI driven alien bullet train, there is a lot more we have to learn about this type of technology before exposing it to the world.” “I agree, careless exposure of such technology will result in more negatives than positives.

Moreover, one train like this is not enough to satisfy the population.

Everyone will be interested in riding it, leading to overcrowding and possible stampedes.” Caishen chid in casually while looking out of a window.

“The tickets will be very expensive too because maintaining such a train must be expensive.

I think twenty five thousand yuan per ticket is the least that can be charged.” “You think like a businessman.” Professor J laughed.

Caishen turned his head to look at the professor and he shrugged.

“I am a businessman, professor.” “Then perhaps you will be interested in funding so of my projects.” The professor proposed.

The train ca to a stop and they all got up.

Professor J faithfully stuck close to Caishen, looking at him with hopeful eyes.

“You will have to impress first.” The professor smiled, tilted his head to the left and smirked at Maggie.

The two had an ongoing bet on who would an investnt out of Caishen first in the hidden city.

Out of nowhere, the professor morphed into a bear while standing next to Caishen and he put his paw on the back of his wheelchair.

“Welco to the hidden city.”
