425: Deserving of love.

425: Deserving of love.

“Eh!

professor, what kind of question is that?” Alix wiped her tears away as she looked at professor He whose question had taken her by surprise and made her feel sowhat offended.

“You just seem to be much more emotional than usual.

This is a very normal question that can help assess the true source of your emotional outburst.” professor He explained.

She repeated the question again and looked at Alix with her normal professional seriousness.

She even had her little blue notebook and pen ready to go.

“I deserve to win of course, i didn’t cheat unlike a certain soone that stole my sheet music.

I worked hard by practicing daily, you can ask anyone if you don’t believe .” Professor He held her hand up defensively and she replied, “I haven’t said that i don’t believe you.

I have seen you work hard everyday in preparation for the competition.

It’s not about right now or what i think.

Our sessions are about you and how you feel.

Do you think you deserved to win?” Alix firmly nodded.

“Than that is all that matters.

Now, how do you feel after winning?” Alix took a deep loud breath.

“Great, uhm….excited…i am happy that i didn’t disappoint my family after they all ca out to support .” Professor He clicked her pen and started writing.

Still a people pleaser?

Family before self….maybe.

External desire for praise.

Alix craned her neck to try and peek at what the professor was writing but he professor covered the notebook firmly.

“Is there anything you want to talk about today?” she asked.

“Mmm.” Seeing Alix appear to be surprised by the question, professor He repeated it.

“I am here to listen so if you want to vent or brag, go on.

Tell what’s on your mind.” Professor He wanted to hear Alix’s thoughts and understand why she had experienced the emotional outburst.

It was up to Alix to decide where she wanted to start from.

“Well, i don’t know.

I am nervous about the party because i have to et my mother’s side of the family and i already know that her brother doesn’t like .

His daughters too, they will probably try to embarrass if they get the chance.

I am willing to tolerate so nonsense for my mom but i am worried that if they are schers like Billi, i am going to end up beating soone up at the party.” “May i make a suggestion?” She nodded.

“Your mother’s brother and her nieces are her business.

If they are a problem, i think they are her problem.

If any of them tries to do sothing to you physically or verbally then do what all children do when they are in trouble, run and tattletale to your mother.” Alix rolled her eyes and laughed.

She wasn’t exactly five years old and in need of mommy’s help.

She had two fists that could handle any problem perfectly.

“I am sure that your mother will love it as well if you do that because it will give her the chance to defend you.

From what i have noticed, she takes advantage of every available opportunity to act as your mother, so i think you should let her.” After making that suggestion, professor He smiled.

“We will see how it goes.” Alix answered.

“What else is on your mind?” The professor asked her.

She looked up, moved her head around, fidgeted with her hands and finally opened the chocolate brownie which she had managed to hold on to firmly through the tears.

Before saying anything else, she took a bite and chewed slowly.

While she was chewing and enjoying the rich chocolate goodness.

Sweets=coping chanism.

“This is so good.” Alix said.

Because she was chewing, her words ca out unclear with the so sounding like sho.

Professor He smiled, amused because all it took to calm Alix entirely was one chocolate brownie.

“It must be, you look like you want ten more of those.” Alix wiped her mouth and put the crumbled up the tissue, turning it into a small round ball.

She had a few more things on her mind that she didn’t mind sharing with the professor.

“I have money now, more money than i know what to do with.

And i know i should be excited because being rich is aweso, i never have to worry about food, clothes, basically anything financial but i just don’t know how to be excited about it….” She looked at the professor and continued playing around with that round tissue ball, moving it from one hand to the other.

“You know that question about deserving things, i don’t know if i deserve the money.

I knew so many other children that were not in good circumstances like back then.

I also t so many sick and hopeless people when i was looking for a cure for my fingers.

Now that everything has worked out for , i can’t help questioning why i got lucky, why i was chosen by…..” She stopped her mouth from moving and closed it before ntioning the system.

Instead, she moved on to sothing else.

“I just think that maybe i should do sothing, give back to society.

Maybe i will feel better about having all this money if i share it with others.” “That’s very noble and wonderful.

I will not ask why you don’t feel deserving of the money right now because we are almost at your family ho.

Perhaps we can pick up from there next ti and explore those things.

I am going to make a suggestion though.

Rather than simply giving out money to make yourself feel better, perhaps you can also personally engage in these acts of charity.

Go to a hospital and read to sick children sotis, cook for the holess or orphaned children.

Volunteer to teach so children from poor families how to play any of the music instrunts you play.

I can assure you that your soul will feel so much better.

But for now, take a look at the things your family is doing for you.” She pointed out of the window and Alix’s eyes followed.

She saw a large billboard with images of her at different ages.

After the big billboard were smaller ones along the road with images of her holding different musical instrunts.

Taking a page out of the Zhang family’s book, grandpa Tai had prepared a troupe of dancers three tis the number of those that were present at the opening of her mall.

It included perforrs engaging in different acts, and singers.

There was even a group of ballet dancers on a large swan float that were dancing along to Alix’s music.

All theses were leading up to the Tai house which had been decorated so beautifully with silk clothes, balloons, lanterns and banners.

It almost looked like they were welcoming a bride into the family.

Grandpa Tai had won the battle of the gold statue although the size had been reduced from giant to human.

The statue was standing outside the gates and two bodyguards were protecting it.

“Ho!” she exclaid.

“You deserve this Alix.” Professor He said.

“Everyday, remind yourself that you are deserving of this.”
