Luo Ziling never imagined that Ouyang Huihui would actually run all the way to the South.

Yesterday, Ouyang Huihui had sent him a ssage asking if he had ti; she wanted to talk to him about sothing.

Luo Ziling turned down her request to et and told her he was going away for the weekend, to the South.

When he got Ouyang Huihui's ssage, Luo Ziling really was busy and had no ti at all to see her.

He originally thought his cold attitude would make Ouyang Huihui back off.

He didn't expect this woman to actually chase him to Hengdian and corner him.

"I ca with Yang Qingyin, we're still in Wu Shang, having dinner."

"Then are you willing to see ?" The mont she heard that Yang Qingyin had co too, Ouyang Huihui was clearly hit hard.

"Just find a place to stay first!" Since she'd co all the way to the South, there was no way Luo Ziling could just leave her hanging. He was even more afraid that Ouyang Huihui might do sothing extre, so he told her to check in sowhere first and he'd find a chance to co see her.

Hearing Luo Ziling say that, Ouyang Huihui let out a breath of relief and agreed.

Right after Luo Ziling finished the call and had just sat down, his phone rang again.

He'd taken so many calls during just one dinner that Yang Qingyin was a bit unhappy and rolled her eyes straight at him.

Seeing it was Luo Yuqing calling, Luo Ziling didn't stand up; he picked up right in front of Yang Qingyin.

When she heard Luo Ziling say they were having dinner in Wu Shang, Luo Yuqing started complaining right away.

"We were still waiting for you two to eat dinner together, and you just go off and find your own place to eat without even letting us know."

Luo Ziling didn't take Luo Yuqing's complaining seriously. "I'll bring you guys so good food later and treat you to a late-night snack, how about that?"

"Fine!" Luo Yuqing stopped complaining.

The noodles ca last.

What surprised Luo Ziling was that the handmade pulled noodles were amazingly good; he'd never had noodles this delicious before.

After eating three at pies, Yang Qingyin couldn't finish the noodles she'd ordered and gave more than half the bowl to Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling didn't stand on ceremony and finished all of it, even drinking all the soup.

"Should I post a Weibo to help promote this place?" After polishing off the soup, Luo Ziling smiled at Yang Qingyin. "It really tastes great!"

"This place is already doing pretty good business, don't bother promoting them." Yang Qingyin laughed. "Their staff didn't seem to think we were anything special anyway."

"We're both public figures and they didn't even recognize us, didn't give us a discount—might as well not promote them!" Luo Ziling chuckled.

He was actually just joking; there was no way he'd do free advertising for a little shop that had nothing to do with him.

After dinner, Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin didn't head to Hengdian right away.

It was their first ti in this unfamiliar city, and it was a sowhat well-known one too, so they had to look around a bit.

The restaurant was right in the city center, next to a fairly large city park and civic square.

Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin took a lap around the city park called "Embroidery Lake" and snapped a few photos.

While they were walking, they ran into a few student-looking kids selling handicrafts in the park.

The handicrafts were quite delicately made and the prices were low—definitely value for money.

Seeing how much Yang Qingyin liked them and couldn't put them down, Luo Ziling imdiately pulled out money and bought several pieces; Yang Qingyin happily took them.

Luo Ziling gave one to Wuyue. Wuyue hesitated for a mont but still accepted the rather cute bamboo carving.

Gifts from a special person always carry a special feeling.

Even though Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin were enjoying their little romance, the Wuyue trailing behind them was actually quite happy after secretly getting a gift from Luo Ziling. Watching Yang Qingyin and Luo Ziling walking hand in hand, she actually didn't feel that sour anymore.

Around nine o'clock, Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin finally left Wu Shang.

From Wushang City proper, there was a very wide road that led directly to Hengdian, with almost no traffic lights along the way, so they could get there quickly. The driver told Wuyue, who was in the front passenger seat, that they would arrive in Hengdian at around nine-thirty.

"These little cities in the South are all very refined and very developed. Compared to them, the North is still quite a bit behind," on the way to Hengdian, Luo Ziling said to Yang Qingyin with a smile, "Honestly, living in the North is really not as good as in the South. If Yanjing weren't the Imperial Capital, living there would be pretty aningless."

"Small cities in the South have all developed very fast; compared to these places, the North and the central-western regions lag far behind in every aspect. But so areas' developnt is already showing signs of petering out." Yang Qingyin reminded Luo Ziling very seriously, "If you're thinking of putting large-scale investnts in the South, you really need to weigh it carefully. You must choose a good industry; you can't pick a sunset industry."

Luo Ziling hadn't expected Yang Qingyin to say that and asked curiously, "In your opinion, which industries down here are sunset industries?"

"For example, the traditional small-commodities trade here." Yang Qingyin smiled at Luo Ziling and shared her view. "The impact of e-comrce on traditional small-commodities trade has been fatal. The businesses that can still survive now are all rchants who keep up with the tis and are very quick on the uptake. Those who stubbornly cling to a single stall and just wait for custors to co are slowly being eliminated. Even if they haven't been eliminated yet, there's no way they can hold out for long. Frankly, I think building so many trade centers here with fixed stalls was kind of shortsighted. But maybe a few years ago, nobody anticipated that e-comrce would hit this industry so hard."

"You're worried I'll invest here?" Luo Ziling looked a bit surprised. "You think this county, which ranks among the national top 100 in economic strength, is going to go downhill?"

"At the very least, it can't keep growing that fast. And I don't think the local governnt can change its developnt strategy in the short term, so I'm not optimistic about its sustained growth. I actually think Yuezhou has been more successful than other places in adjusting its economic developnt strategy, and it has cultural depth too."

"So you're telling not to set my sights on this place and, if I invest, to put the money in Yuezhou instead?"

Yang Qingyin didn't deny that; she nodded lightly. "More or less, yeah."

"Since you've already spotted this place's weaknesses, if my investnts could make up for those weaknesses, wouldn't that inject new life into the local economy?"

Yang Qingyin looked at Luo Ziling in so surprise. "That could indeed happen."

"The transport and logistics here are actually very convenient—high-speed rail, airport, and inland port. In this respect, Yuezhou can't compare." As he said this, Luo Ziling revealed a mysterious smile. "If we locate the manufacturing base for our new-energy industry here, and move so of Northern Group's manufacturing capacity here too, fully utilize the convenient logistics, and then secure the preferential policies the local governnt can offer, do you think that might change the fate of this small city? And would it gradually expand our Luo Family's influence in the Jiangzhe region? You have to understand, this is a very special little city, with administrative powers much greater than other cities at the sa level."

"I get it." Yang Qingyin nodded. "You want to get people you trust appointed here and then help this place develop better?"
