The kiss that landed softly on his lips completely stunned Song Chengfeng. He only recovered when Qi Jianyi pulled away from the kiss.
She lowered her toes and stood honestly in front of Song Chengfeng. Her hands, which had been hugging his neck, were lowered to his chest.
With a small teasing smile, she said, "What a soft lips for a rough man like you."
At that mont, Qi Jianyi really didn’t realize her words sounded like a jerk who took advantage of a pure man.
"Why?" Song Chengfeng could only utter one word. He was confused by her kiss.
Don’t be fooled by his cold exterior right now. In fact, the young master’s mind was brimming with fireworks.
Qi Jianyi looked at him with a pair of gentle eyes. She understood Song Chengfeng’s doubt.
Because she herself had repeatedly told herself that no matter what, she could never give in to Song Chengfeng. They weren’t ant to be, and it would only hurt him further.
Yet, after seeing Xu Yichen—though it was a different version of him—Qi Jianyi realized that the regret she used to carry wasn’t from abandoning him.
It was the regret of not spending enough ti together and separating so hurriedly.
For a mont, Qi Jianyi realized Song Chengfeng’s greatest fear right now was her sudden departure. He was afraid she would leave him without a word, without saying goodbye.
If that were to truly happen in the future, wouldn’t it an she would once again repeat her mistake?
She had dodged the affection thrown at her, refused to love, and refused to accept him.
anwhile, Song Chengfeng had accepted the fact that one day she would leave him. Instead of pleading with her to stay, he decided to be by her side, accompanying her everywhere.
Because, for Song Chengfeng, every little thing he did with her was a great blessing. They were mories he wanted to collect before they parted ways.
Every second, every conversation, every smile, laugh, tear, and argunt was aningful to him.
He took a different approach than Qi Jianyi. Instead of pushing away his feelings due to their broken fate, he embraced that fact and decided to use the little ti they had together to love her wholeheartedly.
"Because, when I look at you, I realize that what I will regret in the future isn’t having a relationship with you but not loving you enough." She answered patiently. Her eyes, as gentle as ever, curved into a small smile.
She didn’t want to leave Song Chengfeng the way she had left Xu Yichen, letting him wonder if she ever had any feelings for him.
She liked Song Chengfeng. It could be seen clearly by anyone who paid enough attention. But because she was clouded by her goals, she couldn’t see Song Chengfeng’s wholehearted feelings.
Now, realizing her mistake, Qi Jianyi refused to have the sa regret.
She would regret this mont, for sure—but not because she kissed him. She would regret it because she couldn’t choose him in the end.
"I don’t know how much ti I have left until this body completely crumbles. I don’t even know whether I will die by then or go back to my real world. But, Song Chengfeng, until that ti, let’s create beautiful mories together—mories I can carry with until my last breath." Her words were very uncharacteristic of her, yet the honesty could be clearly heard.
"Then, I want to be your biggest regret," Song Chengfeng, finally regaining his composure, said with heartache before pulling Qi Jianyi into his arms.
One hand domineeringly placed on her waist, while the other caressed the back of her head and pulled her closer, sealing her lips with his completely.
Qi Jianyi smiled between their kiss and voluntarily deepened it. Song Chengfeng was a novice in this aspect, and she had so experience.
Thus, embarrassingly, the kiss ended up being dominated by her.
After a few minutes, they parted. Both were breathless as they rested their heads together.
Qi Jianyi laughed and found a mont to tease him. "Young master Song, go back and learn how to kiss properly."
Though she was teasing him, in fact, Qi Jianyi was satisfied with this outco. After all, didn’t being a novice in this expertise an that Song Chengfeng had never done this with anyone?
She was his first kiss, his first experience.
Qi Jianyi liked that fact so much that she could barely control her expression.
Song Chengfeng, though inwardly happy, still went along with her words and frowned. "Aren’t you here? You can teach more," he said, not forgetting to take advantage and peck her lips.
Qi Jianyi laughed and pushed him away. "Don’t push your limit," she said, pinching his waist slightly.
However, how could Song Chengfeng, who had finally gotten what he wanted, let her go? He imdiately pulled back the woman who wanted to leave and hugged her tightly.
"Let go. Everyone is looking at us. It’s so embarrassing." Though she said that, her actions—continuing to tighten the hug—showed no intention of actually pulling away.
"Thank you..." Song Chengfeng whispered in her ear, his hands softly brushing against her hair.
What did their surroundings matter? He couldn’t care less about other people. Not to ntion, they were in the least crowded place.
"I love you, Qi Jianyi."
"Thank you for giving this chance."
No words could describe how happy Song Chengfeng was. His world seed to find its light, brightening his day.
Qi Jianyi, knowing his turbulent emotions, gently patted his back.
"Thank you for everything too," she murmured.
She was grateful for Song Chengfeng’s persistence because, at least, she knew she wasn’t alone in this world.
At least, if she were to leave, there would be soone in this unfamiliar world who would rember and love her forever.
...
"I think the twins will probably sulk later," Qi Jianyi turned sideways as she spoke to Song Chengfeng.
Song Chengfeng, still imrsed in happiness, didn’t care about the twins. His stern eyebrows relaxed as he smiled.
"They won’t. They have Zeqing to take care of." Song Chengfeng clasped their hands tightly.
Apparently, holding hands was sothing he had to do. Especially after seeing the couples surrounding them looking so affectionate, he undoubtedly didn’t want to lose and wanted to do the sa.
But Qi Jianyi refused. She found it too hot to be so close all the ti. Even holding hands made her palm sweat.
"Now, what are we?" he asked, a genuinely curious expression on his face.
Qi Jianyi looked at him weirdly.
"What do you an, what are we? We’re friends, obviously," she replied nonchalantly.
As soon as Song Chengfeng heard that he was still in the friend zone, his footsteps stopped, and subconsciously Qi Jianyi also stopped to look at him.
"What’s wrong?" she asked innocently.
Qi Jianyi noticed the subtle pout on his lips. The more he acted wronged, the more goosebumps she felt.
"Can you stop pouting? You’re not fit for that image," she said hurriedly. She really couldn’t look at him anymore.
The more Qi Jianyi rejected him, the more wronged his expression beca. "You’re really a scumbag," he ruthlessly uttered in a sulking tone.
"...?" Qi Jianyi was caught off guard by his sudden accusation. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry after seeing his face grow sadder as ti passed.
"What’s wrong? Why am I the scumbag?" she patiently asked. Her voice softened as she shook their clasped hands slightly.
"You clearly took advantage of and kissed my lips, yet you claim there’s nothing between us? Not to ntion, that was my first kiss too..." Striking while the iron was hot, Song Chengfeng quickly expressed his grievance. He wasn’t at all embarrassed to admit that their kiss was his first. Instead, Song Chengfeng felt proud of it!
Qi Jianyi was completely amazed by his words. It seed she had really kissed him without his permission and didn’t want to take responsibility?
How did they co to this?
"But you clearly liked it," she tried to counter. Yet the words that left her mouth sounded like a scumbag.
"Of course, I liked it. I like you..." Song Chengfeng refused to back down, acting like a shy wife. His left hand shook their clasped hands while his right hand played with the hem of her clothes.
anwhile, Qi Jianyi was driven speechless by him. She really didn’t know how to respond.
She knew Song Chengfeng had probably learned those actions and words from another weird romance drama he had watched.
Yet, why did she seem to have fallen into his trap?
"Then, what do you want?" In the end, she let out a small sigh before asking, sounding more and more like a scum.
For a mont, she reflected on herself. Was she really the scumbag between them? Why did every word that left her mouth sound so...jerk-like?
"I want to be your boyfriend." As soon as he got the question he wanted to hear, Song Chengfeng hurriedly laid down his request.
He was determined to be in a relationship with her. Face? What face? He didn’t care about his aloof, cold look anymore. After all, could that expressionless face win her heart?
No!
If the only way to make Qi Jianyi soften was to act like a pitiful wife, then he would be the wife!
Who cares about appearances?
