155: save2 Books and a Request

Lu Lele arrived at her destination.

She signaled Zhang Yuelu to put her down, then imdiately knocked politely on the door.

"Co in," Liu Lili's not-loud voice ca from within the room.

Upon entering the room, Lu Lele discovered that the person her heart desired was quietly reading a book. When she saw Lu Lele, Liu Lili smiled, stood up, and perford a curtsy:

"Greetings, Young Miss."

Compared to the first few days, although Liu Lili still habitually used a more formal form of address and rarely called Lu Lele by her nickna, Lu Lele could clearly sense that Liu Lili's attitude toward her had undergone a distinct shift. Even when she called her "Young Miss," Lu Lele could feel the intimacy and relaxation contained within, rather than the unfamiliarity and cautiousness of the first day.

This was thanks to the fact that Lu Lele had frequently sought out Liu Lili to play these past few days, having already maximized the ti they spent together to the extent allowed by the rules.

Lu Lele nodded slightly in response, then asked:

"Lili, what are you reading?"

Liu Lili gently patted the cover of the book:

"A book on textiles."

Her gaze drifted toward the lower left corner, as if she had fallen into a mory:

"Back in my hotown, I always learned spinning and weaving from my mother, trying to weave small items. Later, when I went to the noble school, I started learning how to knit larger clothes and trousers, but unfortunately, it was interrupted before I could learn for long."

"Fortunately, there are many books on textiles in the Earl's residence. I can continue self-studying from where I left off at the noble school. It is just a pity that so of the newer content is a bit troubleso to weave by hand..."

Liu Lili paused, then suddenly asked:

"By the way, Lele, may I borrow the house's sewing machine? I want to try using a sewing machine to make things."

The content of Zhang Lenglan's lessons to Lu Lele also included needlework, so Lu Lele possessed a small sewing machine of her own.

Although this machine sounded a bit antiquated, in the Steam Revolution era in which Lu Lele currently found herself, the sewing machine was a genuine, high-end technological product. It was not inexpensive and was not sothing everyone could own; it had not yet trickled down to the hos of ordinary commoners.

Even though sewing machines were already beginning to be widely used in factories, for most workers, they could only touch such a device while on the job. To buy one would require saving up for a long ti.

As for Liu Lili, she might have used a sewing machine at the noble school, but ordinarily she certainly wouldn't have the chance to use one.

Gazing at Liu Lili's inquisitive eyes, Lu Lele did not hesitate for long. She nodded readily:

"Of course. I have a sewing machine. You should know where it is, Lili. If you want to use it, go right ahead."

She would not stop the person she loved from acquiring knowledge. Precisely because Lu Lele knew so much herself, she was all the more clearly aware of the value of knowledge.

Although the Strange God had suppressed Lu Lele's mories of the first world, preventing her from being disturbed by those past recollections, she had not suppressed Lu Lele's mories regarding knowledge.

As it stood, the knowledge stored in Lu Lele's brain alone was roughly equivalent to what an ordinary person could learn in a lifeti.

Even so, Lu Lele still had not stopped her pace of learning. After all, the world had changed, and Lu Lele needed to absorb a great deal of knowledge and rules that were completely different from the modern world. Only in this way could she make her roleplay proceed more smoothly.

Lu Lele did not claim to be a particularly serious studier, but she was a realist. Whatever was useful to her, she learned.

During Zhang Lenglan's classes, when encountering content she already knew, Lu Lele would choose to slack off, but when encountering content she didn't know or hadn't heard of before, Lu Lele would concentrate fully and commit it to mory.

Lu Lele knew very well that only by continuously learning could she better survive in this world.

As the saying goes, as long as life persists, learning never ceases.

Liu Lili seemingly had not expected that her request would go so smoothly. Smiling like a flower, she said happily:

"Young Miss, you are truly generous."

Lu Lele raised an eyebrow:

"You should know that saying that won't make happy, right?"

"In that case…"

Liu Lili coughed lightly, switched gears, and said sincerely:

"Thank you, Lele. I feel very happy being able to beco your friend."

Just when Lu Lele felt that Liu Lili's response was nothing special, Liu Lili suddenly added a sentence for no apparent reason:

"By the way, Lele, you definitely don't know this. Back in my hotown, a sewing machine is a precious gift that many boys buy to give to their girlfriends as an engagent present!"

Hah? What did that sentence an?

Lu Lele froze for half a second, before she caught the aning.

...Damn! She was playing tricks again!

Lu Lele's pretty face was once again dyed with a flush.

The level of those two sentences from Liu Lili was truly high, so high that Lu Lele had to admire it.

Seemingly, she was just calmly stating a custom from her hotown, but in reality, she was completely drawing an analogy.

And the object of that analogy was Lu Lele herself, who had lent her sewing machine to Liu Lili.

Liu Lili was attempting to make Lu Lele associate it with what was happening right now, wanting Lu Lele to unconsciously superimpose an ambiguous status onto reality.

This was undoubtedly another attempt of hers to flirt with Lu Lele.

In fact, it was quite successful.

Lu Lele reached out and rubbed her own cheek, forcing herself to calm down.

It was really interesting.

The Liu Lili of this world had already brought her surprises more than once.

The greatest surprise among them was naturally her eloquence, her boldness coupled with carefulness. Don't let her pure and proper appearance fool you; when she started spouting sweet talk, she could go on and on.

Although so of her lines were a bit embarrassing, they always managed to make Lu Lele's heart flutter.

However, Lu Lele's speed of recovery was fast this ti as well. She blushed for a brief mont and then returned to normal.

After all, she still had other serious business to attend to.

"Is that so? That really is interesting, hahaha..."

Lu Lele let out a few dry laughs that didn't reach her eyes, then brought the topic back, saying:

"Lili, actually, the reason I ca to find you today is because there is sothing I want to discuss with you."

Liu Lili paused slightly, her expression turning serious as she asked:

"Young Miss, what specifically is the matter?"

"Sigh."

Lu Lele did not answer directly but sighed deeply, then fixed her gaze upon her own body.

"Lili, you should know as well... my body has been weak since I was little, so weak that a gust of wind could blow over."

"Even walking, the simplest of tasks, is incredibly difficult for ."

"These past few days, I have been reading so books. One of them wrote that a person needs to exercise their body to beco full of vitality, otherwise they will listless... I felt that book was written quite well."

"So?"

Liu Lili seed to have realized sothing, her eyes widening slightly.
