Chapter 92: To Travel The Chaotic Lands (4)

The trio did not walk nonstop, as the primary objective of this pace was to enjoy the scenery as much as they could. Although the word "enjoy" was subjective and the wild seed unable to offer any spectacle, that was not what they were looking for in the first place.

A day after they left the vicinity of the red zone 21, the area was still affected by the extre cold, but a few low-level monsters had already begun to attack them.

These were all those without a slight intelligence who only went for their instincts; they would not care about mana deterrence or anything.

However, they were not the problem at all. Devion and Khal did not even need to lift a finger before they all collapsed with their deaths.

Along the way, they also noticed a few appearing dungeons, but they ignored them. They were low-level, and even if they did create a dungeon break, the monsters would only be C-B class at most.

Most of the monsters wandering around ca from these dungeons and started to build their nests in the wild.

Of course, while Khal and Devion did not see these monsters as a threat, for most espers and ordinary people, they were already enough to trample small settlents or strongholds.

It was precisely what they witnessed after they ate their lunch and set off again. Khal and Devion stood at Ayen’s side as they looked down from the slope.

Ayen watched as a small village or settlent fought low-level monsters that surrounded the village wall. Calling it a wall was already a stretch; it had a height up to soone’s chest.

A monster could easily leap that height. Sure enough, a monster that looked like a combination of a fox and a tiger managed to jump across the wall.

The villagers inside the wall imdiately shrieked in fright; they huddled in the corner and hugged each other. The few fighting in front also noticed this, but they could not turn around at will since they were entangled by a few monsters.

If they did so, those monsters could easily attack them from behind. Or worse, more monsters could jump through the wall.

However, they could not just let their loved ones die.

The monster roared and was about to pounce on the villagers; soone struck it from behind. The attack instantly enraged the monster as it turned around and looked at the one who attacked it.

Its eyes glimred with bloodlust; drool suddenly stread down its cheek. It suddenly found a more delicious al than the villagers, and its whole focus imdiately shifted.

The one who had struck it was a girl who only looked to be in her early twenties. Her knees trembled, and tears fell to her cheeks. She felt like what she had done drove her to her death, but she could not just let the others die either.

The monster slowly stepped closer to her, as though enjoying the final monts of its al. The girl beca frightened even more.

"No! Lulu!" Soone from the front shouted, seeing the girl and the monster. Her eyes widened and instantly beca pale.

The monster she was fighting also roared; it took advantage of those few seconds she beca distracted and brandished its sharp claws.

Fortunately, the woman managed to sense it, and she dodged, yet it was not enough. With a surge of pain, blood poured from her sides. She clenched her teeth, suppressed the pain, and glared at the monster.

There was not enough ti; she looked at the side where the girl was and the wall. She had to make a decision. Ultimately, she was unable to resist and chose to save Lulu.

Without her at the wall, the monsters beca proactive. The situation quickly turned for the worse.

All of this was seen by the three.

"Oh, she’s quite good but seems inexperienced," Devion comnted as the woman began to fight the monster. However, she was clearly at a disadvantage.

"Mhm, she’s unable to fully utilize her wavelength."

Khal could see through it at a glance. The woman seed to exhibit the mana density of an A-class esper but could not utilize the extent of her abilities.

Ayen was not an esper, so he could not sense anything. But he was a guide, and after guiding the two espers, he beca sensitive to the wavelengths of the espers and even guides.

It was as though he were fully awakened as a Guide.

Her eyes landed on the girl, watching with worried eyes. He imdiately concluded sothing.

Ayen glanced at the two espers; his eyes showed his intention. As a whole, Ayen truly did not see himself as caring for others’ lives and deaths.

Yet, that was on the premise that he was not present or it was not happening in front of him. If he were alone, then Ayen would simply ignore this commotion and leave.

He was powerless to do anything, after all, and surely would be only another casualty.

This ti was different. He was with two SS-class espers; slaying these low-level monsters should be a piece of cake. There was nothing to fear. He was truly confident with his espers.

Khal and Devion were able to discern his intentions without him explicitly stating them. They exchanged glances and slowly smiled.

In fact, even if Ayen did not say it then, they would still take action. However, it was a bit different if the order ca from their guide.

"Wait here," Khal said, with Devion also saying the sa thing.

The two did not waste any ti. There was no need for any grandiose entrance, and yet their appearance was enough to turn the tide in an instant.

A force field quietly descended, pulverizing any monsters that were wrapped within. In another area, the monsters suddenly froze and mysteriously shattered like crystals.

The people in the wall paused; they found it hard to process what had happened. All the monsters that gave them a hard ti were gone just like that?

The monster who was fighting the woman also paused; its body trembled.

It roared in alarm; it sensed a considerable threat to its life. It began to turn tail and retreat. How could the woman let it escape?

The mont it turned around and showed signs of fleeing, he leaped toward its back. The monster shrieked, montarily startled.

It then glared at the woman standing at its back and roared in displeasure. The woman’s sharp eyes flickered, and both sabers in her hand glinted. It only took a second, as the woman used all her remaining force in the attack.

The monster’s head, with its eyes still opened with shock, fell on the ground.
