Chapter 158: Realm Core (6)

"Oops, sorry." Devion wiped Ayen’s face, but his tone did not sound apologetic at all. Khal did not say a word, but he looked satisfied looking at Ayen’s state, even the way he wiped the cum off Ayen’s face seed halfhearted.

Ayen flicked Devion’s hand and coughed. He let his body slump to the ground.

The two squatted in front of him, smiling wickedly. Ayen licked his lips. "I’m tired."

"I know. We’ll wash up and then rest." Khal brushed Ayen’s hair soothingly. It was like he had beco a different person once more.

Khal and Devion chose to spare him this ti.

After he recovered, Ayen was not as weak, but the two playfully carried him to the bedroom. Ayen was held by the two at both ends. Khal at his legs while Devion at his upper half.

It was not romantic at all but actually silly. Yet it helped to let the intense desire co off their systems.

Once in bed, after they dried their hair, they did not forget to play with Ayen’s long hair. Recently, the two suddenly beca fond of brushing his hair, fiddling with it when they were lost in thought.

Ayen had thought that having long hair was a bit inconvenient sotis, but having it did not really bother him. It seed the two were the sa.

Massaging Ayen’s jaw, Devion began to tell Ayen what happened. Ayen was leaning on Khal’s chest, as the esper’s arm was wrapped around his shoulders.

Devion was sitting in front of them as Ayen’s legs were in his lap.

The submarine had paused at so point. As they could not leave yet because they needed to see the aftermath of the dungeon collapse.

"A curse?" Ayen’s interest was piqued. He was also glad that he had not co with the two espers, so they could fight without thinking of him.

"Curses are more mysterious than we think." Khal’s voice sounded a bit deeper than usual. There was also a laid-back tone around it.

This was Khal lowering his guard completely.

Devion humd as Khal continued.

"We’ve been dealing with it for so many years, and we still can’t understand it. It’s a good decision that we prepare before you try connecting with the curse again."

Khal would not let Devion and Ayen be in danger because of carelessness. He was desperate to deal with it, but treading carefully was a must.

Ayen leaned his head in Devion’s hand, which was massaging his jaw. This made Devion smile and pinch his cheeks. Ayen scrunched his nose but did not reprimand him. Instead, he relaxed in Khal’s chest while the other soothingly caressed his waist.

"Aside from the curse, this incident brought us to an alarming realization." Khal finally pointed out sothing that was on their minds.

Devion’s expression also beca solemn. Ayen already knew what he was about to say. He turned and looked at Khal.

"It’s not a coincidence, isn’t it?"

Khal nodded. "The monster confird it."

The monster had sensed Ayen’s uniqueness and chose to manifest around their area. As for the principle behind dungeon appearance, it was not sothing they wanted to be privy to at this point.

It was on a higher level that needed a more careful study. Even the Institute, where all research took place, had yet to bring notable results.

This was how tricky their situation was. They did not know where Ayen might be targeted again. It seed their plans had to change again.

There was sothing more confusing, and Ayen chose to address it as well.

"But why now?" Ayen’s brows furrowed. He felt the two soothingly touch him. "I haven’t had any incidents before. But after..."

He paused as though he had grasped sothing. The two let him process his thoughts without interrupting him. In the yellow zone, Ayen had an assumption that the chaos was almost orchestrated by the people behind the scenes.

At least, the clan seed to have used the zone to test the governnt’s attitude. Ayen had assud it was used because he was conveniently there; could he call it a coincidence?

However, that was also the ti he t Khal and Devion. Wait...

"Did that incident trigger my uniqueness, and eting you... After guiding both of you, did it activate?"

Ayen’s life was not peaceful, but he never encountered a life-threatening situation like what happened in the yellow zone either.

Even when he was first assigned to a red zone, Ayen had completed his service there and was successfully transferred after a shift rotation.

Yet, after that yellow zone incident, Ayen had beco like a trouble magnet by now. The red zone cold beast tide and this SS-class dungeon appearance.

Devion and Khal exchanged glances, their gazes flickered, and they were convinced by Ayen’s conjecture.

"What you said makes sense."

Ayen turned to Devion and listened.

"We still don’t know your actual rank and what uniqueness corresponds with it."

Ranks were always accompanied by so uniqueness. Devion and Khal’s mana wavelengths were way different from the espers below them. In fact, their abilities were also more flexible than the regular Esper abilities.

The two had explained it before to Ayen, and he easily understood what Devion ant.

If a regular Esper ability had sothing to do with manipulating fire, then that was what he could do. There were restrictions on certain abilities that so could not be able to exceed, no matter what.

Both espers might have fire attribute abilities. But the way they handle them would be different, and the other could not replicate what the other could do, as that was not beyond their abilities.

For example, if soone could manipulate fire, they could not summon it, while the other could summon it but not manipulate it. That was how certain classes were dependent as well.

Khal and Devion were different. The way they handle their abilities is way beyond any restrictions any esper might have. They were the master-class.

Khal’s main attribute was ice, which seed to be confined in the cold impression. Yet, Khal actually encompassed everything that had sothing to do with ice and cold. In fact, he could also manipulate the other elent closely related to it, water, in so ways. The sa with Devion.

While the other was confined to one branch of an attribute, the two were the masters of them.
