Chapter 148: The Horror Under The Sea (10)

Ayen never experienced that two of the espers were unconscious. Last ti, when Devion had a relapse, Khal was with him. He was already anxious when that happened, and now two of them were too exhausted and directly fainted.

He glanced at Devion and held his hand. Ayen gritted his teeth when he felt a jolt spreading across his skin. Devion’s body put up an instinctive attack, but it was only for a mont.

The power withdrew, and Ayen needed a minute for the numb sensation to fade. He let out a breath to calm himself.

He averted his eyes from Devion and shifted to Khal.

He had never seen Khal this vulnerable before. There were still traces of blood around his nose. Ayen wiped it with his sleeve and then held his hand.

Ayen’s expression twisted, and he closed his eyes, pain and cold spreading through his body. He heaved a sigh once the sensation faded. The cold also retreated.

When he opened his eyes, Ayen was relieved that his hand was not afflicted by frostbite.

Ayen returned his attention to Devion. Subconsciously, he bit his lips and had to avert his gaze again.

Devion’s condition was worse than Khal’s. Neither had serious wounds, but Devion’s wavelength was far too chaotic, and without checking, Ayen knew that the curse was wreaking havoc again in Devion’s subconscious.

He could not afford for Devion to relapse here. Without Khal’s help, Ayen would not be able to control Devion at all.

Their eyebrows were heavily furrowed, and both expressions were grim.

Ayen did not waste ti loosening their brows and proceeded to do what he could best to help them. This was the sole reason that the two could fight recklessly.

He took a deep breath again and cleared his mind of worries. Ayen was worried that being distracted could be detrintal to the process.

Ayen was even more nervous than the first ti he guided them. He was uncertain, as he had never guided the two in such a state.

He slowly activated his wavelength and did not connect to them imdiately. Fortunately, he had a couple of days of training with wavelength control, not much, but definitely helpful.

Ayen closed his eyes, letting himself be imrsed in the sensation. He first connected with Khal, as it was easier; the complicated one would be Devion.

It was not even a minute through the session when sweat quickly accumulated on Ayen’s forehead. He successfully connected with Khal but refrained from giving guiding energy.

One thing he had learned through multiple trio guiding sessions was that the best effect was when he channeled his guiding energy simultaneously through their wavelengths.

That was one he needed in this situation. His breathing slowed down, and he focused all his attention on the guiding session.

Unsurprisingly, Devion’s wavelength was now enveloped by darkness. Fortunately, it had not taken over yet. What happened last ti was also a stroke of luck, as Ayen could now distinguish the cursed wavelength from the real one.

Ayen’s hand trembled slightly, and he even forgot to breathe for a few seconds. Very carefully, he bypassed the curse wavelength that lood around Devion’s wavelength.

Soon, Ayen let out a shaky breath. He gripped their hands together. His temple throbbed as a slight jolt of pain tornted him.

This was once more a counterattack by the curse. Ayen bit his lips and ignored the pain. After successfully connecting with Devion’s, he quickly activated his own and poured his guiding energy.

Blood trickled at the corner of Ayen’s lips, fighting the pain with pain. It helped a bit, but what comforted him more was the sensation of being connected with the two again.

This satisfaction of being complete was such a feeling he would never get tired of. In fact, Ayenw was quite addicted to it. If only he could always guide them.

The pain still gnawed at him, but it was far better now. Ayen could ignore it and be imrsed in the sensation of being connected to his espers.

His guiding energy intensified. The gloom around Devion’s wavelength remained, but the mana toxins were noticeably being cleansed. The sa with Khal.

Half an hour had passed, and the guiding session was still ongoing. Their longest session yet.

Ayen’s back was drenched with sweat, and he felt his body getting weaker. It seed Khal was right; he had to build his endurance. Ayen could feel that the guiding energy in his wavelength was still quite abundant.

This was surprising to say the least. It seed another blessing in disguise was that Ayen beca aware of the extent of what he could offer.

Despite that, Khal and Devion were also like bottomless pits, sucking the energy endlessly.

This made Ayen realize why Devion and Khal could not be guided before. Ayen was the only one who could.

At so point, the gloom around Devion had retreated again. Ayen could not sense it anymore. He had no intention of bothering with it.

Now, he comfortably guided the two espers without the pain tornting him.

Devion and Khal’s expressions had also gotten better; their furrowed brows had loosened. The aura of gloom that surrounded Devion had also faded.

The two appeared to be sleeping peacefully. Ayen’s emotion had also settled after sensing that their wavelengths had already stabilized.

Ayen opened his eyes; after adjusting to the light, he quickly checked their condition. The tension on his shoulders loosened, and he felt relieved.

While the two were unconscious, mainly from exhaustion, Ayen had mostly cleansed the mana toxins that accumulated within them.

It took almost an hour before Ayen stopped.

The two showed no signs of waking up, and Ayen let them. Weakness also enveloped him, and an indescribable drowsiness wanted to overwhelm him.

Ayen’s eyelids instantly beca heavy. Yet, he fought it. With trembling arms, he cleaned the blood off their faces. He could not neglect his own and wiped the sweat on his body.

He wanted to change, but Ayen knew that was not sothing he could do. Then, he lay down between them.

Guides recover their energy quickly by sleeping. He almost drained his energy, and so Ayen did not panic. Once everything was over, he cald down and let sleep take over.
