"Lord, a tier 12 dark beast has begun moving toward your area. Please retreat!"
"Coming for ?" Maximus wasn't surprised.
The higher the tier of a dark beast, the higher their intelligence.
Though their core nature was destruction, they still had priorities.
Threatened by Maximus's relentless slaughter, it was no wonder they shifted their focus to him.
"How long until they reach ?"
"The closest one will arrive in three days. The second, in a week. The third, in a month…" Wanderer slowly reported.
Although the concentration of dark energy was much denser now, the micro surveillance bots they placed when they were in the dinsional competition were still working.
Tracking the movents of key targets like the tier 12 dark beast or tier 11 primal dark beasts was still possible.
Hearing that the closest tier 12 dark beast would reach him in three days, Maximus fell into thought.
He was considering whether to kill it directly with the Dark Plane Blaster or to face it himself.
"Did the Dark Plane Blaster on the Ship cooled down?" Maximus asked Wanderer.
"No. Based on the ti estimate, it'll still take another six days before it can be used again," Wanderer replied.
Although the Dark Plane Blaster on the Shadow Void Ship was of higher quality than those at the Void Outpost, it still had a cool-down ranging from weeks to months.
Using thousands of plane origin seed to have pushed the weapon closer to its limits than he'd expected.
Not having any other choice, he could only fight the tier 12 dark beast himself.
"Let's try…" Maximus finally decided.
Having trained for over a million years, he also wanted to know how much his power had grown.
Fighting a Dark Beast comparable to an Overlord was a perfect target to test his strength.
If he couldn't defeat the tier 12 dark beast before the second one arrived, he'd take the ship and escape.

Three days later, while Maximus was wantonly killing, the tier 12 dark beast arrived.

Though it couldn't speak, the beast conveyed its rage with a deafening roar.

Not understanding his words, the dark beast began condensing a ball of energy in its mouth and fired an attack.

As the ball of dark energy approached, Maximus deflected it back, exploding against the dark beast's body.

With such a devastating blast, Maximus thought part of its body might have been damaged.
But as the explosion subsided, he realized sothing was wrong.
The dark beast wasn't weaker; it beca stronger, seemingly enhanced by its own attack.
"It can attack and enhance itself?" Maximus was speechless.
Who would've guessed that deflecting its own attack back would power it up?
"Whatever…"
Tired of playing gas, Maximus urged the power of his origin.
Teleporting behind the dark beast, he clenched his fist and unleashed a punch charged with the full force of origin of laws and the power of causality.
Amplified a billion tis by his core of origin, the strike tore a massive gap through the beast's body.
Roaring in fury, the dark beast didn't seem to feel pain. Instead, it tried to twist its head around and swallow him whole.
Sensing the danger, Maximus teleported to the other side and landed another punch.
Bam!
With another gaping hole appearing in its massive body, instead of weakening, the dark energy around it began to gather and thicken.
"It's… evolving?"
Feeling the beast's power rising, Maximus frowned.
He tried to end the fight quickly, launching attack after attack.
But the tier 12 dark beast was too tenacious. No matter how much damage it took, it didn't fall. It kept attacking mindlessly, not stopping a single ti.
Furthermore, as the fight dragged on, instead of becoming weaker and slower, it got even stronger, faster, and more precise.
Trying to mobilize the absolute of knowledge, Maximus tried to cut off its connection to the dark energy.
Unfortunately, it was useless. Its link to the darkness was simply too strong.
"It seems I can only increase the intensity of my attack..."

Since reaching the tier 11 realm and consolidating the Absolute of Knowledge, the range at which his origin could explode had increased.

Seeing it still moving, Maximus didn't stop. Turning his hands horizontally, he delivered another slash, dividing it into thirty-six pieces.
Feeling the chunks of flesh begin to morph into more dark beasts, he slashed again.
Over and over, slash after slash, he tore the massive body apart, reducing it to a pulp, until it could no longer regenerate.
Reducing its power to a bare minimum, the isolating power of the Absolute of Knowledge finally began to take effect.
Cutting off its connection to dark energy to prevent its resurrection, Maximus stored what was left in his dinsional storage.
"Huh~ What a tenacious dark beast."
Although it couldn't fight back properly, it was more persistent than an overlord.
A billion-fold amplification of his power could kill an Absolute.
Yet against this tier 12 dark beast? It could only wound it. Worse, his energy was making it stronger.
No wonder others feared their numbers more than their individual strength.
If a few more tier 12 dark beasts had shown up, even with unlimited energy, he'd be overwheld.
Unless he killed them instantly, their strength would just keep growing.
Feeling his core of origin slightly damaged, Maximus let out a dry smile.

His mission in the Dark Void Domain was to investigate the dark disaster, not to pick fights.
Thinking they'd gone off course, Maximus figured a few weeks of hunting was enough.
