Revelation couldn’t sleep.

She lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to count sheep—or at least pretending to. What really kept her awake was the weight of what Cady and Mia had told her. She had truly believed Knight let her go of his own will. Not because he was kind—no, she wasn’t that naive. Knight was a heartless killer. She knew that all too well. But part of her thought maybe, just maybe, he believed her when she said she didn’t an to harm his wife.

She should’ve known better. Knight was a psychopath.

Everything about him was a lie—the blood he spilled on the floor, the charming front he wore online, the illusion of being so internet-famous Casanova. Sure, he barely posted anymore since Genesis ca into his life, but that didn’t matter. It was the fact that she ever believed that he let go because he saw reason too, that was what fueled her anger now.

And to make it worse, now Damon—The Black Fang—had his eyes on her.

That could ruin everything.

Pretending to be soone else around the Angels was already exhausting. Now she had a predator stalking her steps.

"Grrr," she growled lowly, flipping the blanket off her and rising from the bed.

She stood in the dark, the cold air from the AC pooling around her ankles. It seeped into her skin, but she didn’t flinch. She was used to discomfort.

Her chest rose and fell quickly, fury tightening her fists at her sides. She wanted to kill Damon. She could already picture it—her sword slicing clean through his neck, warm blood splattering like paint across a canvas. She’d bathe in it.

But she held that urge back.

The desire to kill had been simring in her for a long ti. And the ti would co—oh, she would wait. She could be patient.

Padding toward the door, she froze at the sound of rustling to her left, followed by the soft hiss of tal being drawn.

Cady.

"Is that you, Rev? Where are you going?" Cady’s voice was alert, dagger ready.

Rev stared at her through the darkness. "You think that would save you?" she murmured coolly. "If I wanted you dead, you would be."

Cady furrowed her brows. "What?"

"I said it’s Rev. Relax. I’m just going downstairs to get so water," she lied smoothly.

Cady nodded, eyes still cautious, but she stepped back and returned to bed, dagger still gripped tight at her side.

Mia stirred and let out a loud, unbothered fart.

Rev wrinkled her nose in disgust. She opened the door and slipped out, fanning her hand in front of her face as the sll caught up with her.

Once she stepped into the hallway, she leaned briefly against the door, muttering under her breath, "Knight Angels, my ass."

She pushed away and headed toward the kitchen. She really was thirsty.

But just as she rounded the corner, a soft noise pulled her attention.

It ca from the direction of the pool.

She paused, curiosity prickling.

Silently, she moved toward the glass doors leading outside. As she reached them, she peered through—and froze.

Her eyes went wide.

There, in the moonlit pool, was Knight.

"Fuck, Princess, you’re so tight," he growled.

Rev’s heart jumped.

He was gripping Genesis by the neck with one hand, the other anchoring her hips as he thrust into her like a beast. His expression was pure, feral lust. Genesis clung to him, her mouth open, her back arched, her long hair plastered to her skin by the water.

They were both subrged in the water, moving like shadows beneath the surface.

The scene was unmistakably intimate—raw, animalistic.

Then Knight cupped her face, turning her toward him. But he didn’t kiss her. They just stared into each other’s eyes while he continued slamming into her.

Rev stood there, rooted to the spot. She knew she should turn away, but she couldn’t move. Her heart pounded in her chest, heat creeping up her neck and into her face.

Sothing about what she was seeing—

She didn’t understand it.

But she couldn’t look away.

She stared at Genesis—her skin wet and glowing under the moonlight, her green eyes shimring like eralds. She was striking. Ethereal. The water slicked down her slight curves as if it worshipped her, wrapping around her like a lover, and Revelation couldn’t stop her eyes from trailing down the woman’s body.

She shut her eyes tightly, shuddering as a wave of desire coursed through her.

When she opened them again, her gaze imdiately snapped back to the two in the pool.

To Knight.

To the way he looked at Genesis like she had hung the stars—like nothing else in the world mattered but her. His eyes were locked on her, hungry, reverent.

Revelation’s hand clenched at her side.

She didn’t like it.

She didn’t want—

"If I didn’t know better," a voice whispered directly in her ear, smooth and cruel, "I’d say you’ve got a thing for her."

She spun around, her dagger already in motion, but a strong hand caught her wrist mid-swing. The next mont, she was twisted, slamd against the wall with a hard thud.

Her breath hitched.

"Let go!" she hissed, struggling, but the grip only tightened. A broad, solid body pressed against hers, pinning her in place, and a heavy hand shoved her head against the cold wall.

"If I were you," the voice growled, low and venomous, "I’d shut your fucking mouth. Because if he finds out you were peeping at his wife? You’re as good as dead. And you won’t be so lucky this ti."

She stilled.

That voice. That presence.

Fang.

Damon.

The realization sent a chill down her spine.

He yanked her hair without warning, hard, and began dragging her away from the pool door.

"Ahh—what the fuck!" she yelped, grabbing at his hand as he pulled. His grip was like iron, each step sending sharp jolts of pain through her scalp, like he was ripping her hair out by the root.

They didn’t stop until they were a good distance away, swallowed by shadows.

Then—slam.

He threw her against the wall again and shoved her own dagger up against her throat.

Her breath hitched, her back arching away from the cold kiss of the blade.

Damon’s face was close, eyes dark and feral.

"Now," he snarled, "give one good reason why I shouldn’t slice your fucking throat open."
