Divine Kingdom Descent!

================================

anwhile, along with the shattering of the king of corrupted monsters, ca Renata's release from her burdens.

Her eyes trembled, struggling faintly against Ferran's grasp.

Breaking free from Ferran's hand, Renata knelt weakly before the magic array.

The efficiency of the formation etched by Jiang Cheng left not a single drop of her clansn's blood remaining on the ground.

The smooth bricks and sand were as if nothing had ever happened, as though the deaths of their people had been silent and unnoticed.

Kneeling in exhaustion, tears ran silently down Renata's cheeks.

How could you just die like that? How could you possibly die so easily!

You were the king of our clan—how could you die so simply?!

At the very least, you should have only died after I was gone!

Her tears stread down. Although the wishes of the clan had been fulfilled, why... why was she the only one left behind?

What was the point of this—everyone was dead, leaving her alive as the only one remaining. Was there even any reason for her to keep living...

"Idiot",

Ferran cursed quietly from beside her.

He should have hated this monster who had consud his sister, yet for so reason, watching her hurl herself to death, he couldn't help but grab hold of her when he'd just arrived.

"You can't die,"

Ferran said coolly. "You still haven't fulfilled your clan's wish."

"At this point... what's the point of fulfilling the wish when there's only left of my clan..."

Renata said dazedly.

"Of course it matters,"

Ferran replied. "Because you need to keep living. That's what they wanted."

After pausing for a mont, Ferran added, "Actually, I don't want you dead either."

"You've forgiven ? Are you admitting I'm your sister?"

Renata asked with a trace of hope.

"Sorry, but I haven't,"

Ferran said. "No matter what, I can't forgive a monster that devoured my sister. But I also believe that you, now possessing my sister's mories and consciousness, shouldn't have to atone for what you did when you were still mindless."

"As for regarding you as my sister? That's impossible. She was unique, and so are you. So, however it is, you who carry everyone's hopes shouldn't die."

"Here we go again..."

Renata said. "Everyone says I shouldn't die, but in the end they all leave behind."

"Do you bla them? Bla them for not letting you die first?"

Ferran asked, eyebrow raised.

"Of course not,"

Renata shook her head. "The living never have the right to bla those who sacrificed themselves."

"It's just, I don't want to always be the one left behind, struggling to survive..."

Renata said softly.

Ferran's heart trembled, and he shook his head, saying nothing more, turning to Jiang Cheng.

"I'm here—my turn should be coming up soon, right?"

"Of course,"

Jiang Cheng nodded, smiling. "Once the false god descends, Lyle will take you to rush quickly to the false god's side. Just smash the Sacred Artifact then."

"I'll cover you. Don't worry, I won't hold back for Lyle's sake."

"Alright,"

Ferran nodded, and Lyle echoed his agreent beside him.

"So let's hurry and get her out of here,"

Ferran said, turning to Renata.

"What, are you suddenly worried about your dear sister's safety?"

Jiang Cheng grinned.

"She's not my sister,"

Ferran argued, shaking his head.

"Alright, alright, you know what you think,"

Jiang Cheng shrugged. "The false god's descent will take a while. Because He has to bring the Divine Kingdom through the Spirit Realm, he definitely won't arrive for at least half an hour,"

Jiang Cheng said with a light chuckle.

"So if our little thief wants a bit of a sibling reunion, there's plenty of ti~"

"That's not necessary,"

Ferran replied calmly.

"Alright, alright~"

Jiang Cheng giggled. "Since it's your own business, I won't ddle."

"Lyle~"

Jiang Cheng turned to Lyle. "Let's wait together for the descent of the false god."

"Alright..."

Tightening his grip on the Sword in the Stone, Lyle spoke earnestly, "I'll be with you."

Jiang Cheng cheerfully pulled Lyle away, leaving the space to Ferran and Renata.

"You..."

Ferran turned to Renata, "You'd better leave quickly—it's dangerous here."

Renata suddenly smiled. "It's alright. You're still here anyway."

"So?"

Ferran asked, confused by her reasoning.

"If my little brother is going to stay sowhere dangerous, then as the elder sister, of course I shouldn't worry about the danger here."

Renata smiled.

"... Idiot,"

Ferran muttered under his breath, frowning.

"I told you to live properly. Why are you always thinking about wanting to die?"

"Alright," with a tilt of her head, Renata laughed softly, "since it's my brother's request, I'll agree."

"Mn," hearing her answer, Ferran let out a sigh of relief, even if her tone didn't seem entirely right.

"So promise you'll survive until I see you again~"

Sure enough, a mont later, with dagger revealed, Renata looked softly at Ferran.

Pausing briefly, Ferran replied, "Of course I will. I wouldn't die for that old fool—I have to live to take revenge."

"Alright,"

Renata nodded, "It's a promise. When this is all over, I'll co see you."

"Okay, it's a deal,"

Ferran agreed, nodding.

"Then I'll leave now?"

Tilting her head, Renata smiled.

"After all, I have to go sowhere safe so our little brother doesn't worry."

"Okay",

Ferran nodded. "Keep far away from here. It might get dangerous in a bit."

"Alright," as Renata's words faded, she turned and left, her figure gradually vanishing.

"See, their relationship is quite good."

Jiang Cheng remarked from afar, grinning.

"Really?"

Lyle tilted his head in confusion. "Haven't they always gotten along?"

"Ha, that's how you see it? Well, I guess you're not wrong,"

Jiang Cheng replied, grinning.

"After all, you have that pure heart, so you can tell. What's this, a tsundere breaker?"

Lyle's lips twitched. He had no idea what Jiang Cheng was blabbering about this ti.

"Alright, alright," seeing Lyle's expression, Jiang Cheng chuckled and tapped Lyle's nose.

"Just teasing. What's there to be embarrassed about?"

Shrugging, Jiang Cheng said, "Ti's almost up, that false god should be arriving soon."

"Really?"

Lyle looked up, gripping the Sword in the Stone tightly.

The next second, the air around them began to warp wildly, an overwhelming aura rolling forth.

In the distance, towering and splendid, a vast and magnificent kingdom floated toward them.

Suddenly, everyone's ears rang with a blaring, buzzing tinnitus!
