The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day Chapter 26: Fantasizing the Impossible
That night, the silver moon was bright, hanging high in the sky, with stars scattered like a galaxy sea, incredibly beautiful.
In the post-apocalyptic world, air pollution was severe, and the sky was always gray, where one could no longer see stars or such a beautiful nightscape.
Luna Sutton quickly arrived at the Tribal Square.
A bonfire was lit in the center of the square, burning fiercely, its flas flickering, illuminating the surroundings.
The tribe’s n, won, old, and young were gathered here in groups, eating roasted at, laughing, or discussing sothing interesting.
The young beastn and females danced enthusiastically around the bonfire, with a joyful atmosphere.
A few beastlings were hopping and playing on the side, but upon seeing her approach, they hurried away in fear.
As if she were so kind of terrible monster.
But so were secretly observing her with curious eyes, clearly noticing her uniqueness and having heard about her awakening powers.
She didn’t mind and was just about to find a couple of suitable bones to make soup.
When she saw Kian Sterling strolling towards her, his appearance was beautiful, ambiguously gendered, excessively attractive.
Yet his eyes were so elegant, like mountains and rivers, blue skies and white clouds.
He held a piece of roasted at in his hand, gazing at her gently, and said softly, "Here, take it."
"Thank you."
Luna Sutton glanced at the roasted at he handed over and smiled, not refusing, as she was about to take it.
Then she heard Corbin Crowley, sitting not far away, suddenly look over, his silver eyes gleaming enchantingly in the firelight.
He looked at Luna Sutton with a half-smile and teased, "I rember soone promised to lose 50 pounds in a month, but with such a large piece of roasted at, can you still shed that fat?"
Upon hearing this, Luna Sutton’s hand paused, and her smile faded a bit.
That damn man, he’s everywhere.
She glanced lightly at Corbin Crowley, but instead of bickering with him as usual, she brightly smiled at Kian Sterling and took the roasted at.
"Thank you."
Kian Sterling gave her a deep look, nodded slightly without saying anything, and returned to his seat.
As she watched Kian Sterling’s departing figure, she glanced at Corbin Crowley and, in front of him, took a deliberate bite of the at.
She chewed ostentatiously and swayed her head, saying, "Kian’s cooking is really good. This at is crispy on the outside and tender inside. It’s really delicious..."
As soon as she said that, she felt a chilly gaze fall upon her.
Luna Sutton didn’t need to look up to know who it was; who else but Corbin Crowley, that damn man?
Pretending not to notice, she took another big bite of the roasted at, eating it sloppily while making loud munching sounds.
The roast was indeed quite delicious, seasoned with salt and spices, much better than the half-cold, half-hard piece she had in the cave earlier.
But it wasn’t so good that it warranted such exaggeration; it was just to provoke Corbin Crowley, that damn man.
And to see if that damn man had a masochistic streak.
That would help in strategizing the approach.
Corbin Crowley watched her deliberate antics, his lips tightly pressed, eyes cold as ice.
That fat woman really deserves a lesson.
He smirked inwardly, not acting out, and turned his attention back to his own roast silently.
Secretly thinking of ways to deal with her.
Luna Sutton, seeing no reaction from him, pouted slightly, finding it boring.
That damn man had grown more restrained, not even batting an eye.
"System, any change in that damn man’s affection level?"
She asked inwardly.
The system quickly replied, "Yes, increased by 5 points, affection level is now -55. Keep it up, host."
She was montarily stunned, her gaze shifting towards the cold-faced Corbin Crowley sitting alone eating roasted at.
Suddenly, she sowhat understood; that damn man was the typical case of not wanting what’s given but becoming more interested the more he’s opposed or ignored.
Basically, a masochist.
In truth, most n are like that in their bones.
They refuse what is offered freely, yet obsessed over the unattainable.
Luna Sutton smirked slightly, deciding to provoke him more in the future; maybe it’ll increase the affection level further.
Of course, she needed to be moderate, not wanting to escalate the barely lowered dislike value.
In a corner of the square, Rhys Blackwood sat in the shadows, out of the firelight, slowly eating a piece of roasted at, elegantly.
His gaze on Luna Sutton, seeing her deliberately provoking Corbin Crowley, brought a slight curve to his lips.
Seemingly in a good mood.
She seed to be getting more interesting.
He glanced at a piece of Sabertooth Tiger at beside him, thinking of giving it to her.
But then, recalling Corbin Crowley’s recent comnt about losing 50 pounds in a month, he silently dismissed this idea.
After all, she already had the at from Kian, so she’d hardly starve.
Kian Sterling remained expressionless; giving Luna Sutton the roasted at was because he was her nominal partner.
Even in dislike, he wouldn’t shirk responsibility.
Moreover, her performance today indeed caught his eye; he wondered what else she might do.
As for the bold claim of losing fifty pounds in a month, he hadn’t taken it seriously.
Losing 50 pounds in a month, is that even possible?
Zeke Veridian sat among the crowd, watching Luna Sutton with indifference and disdain.
His cold and aloof nature made him despise such petty cleverness and sches, finding them utterly childish.
How she, with her body like a plump sow, had the confidence to think she could lose 50 pounds in a month was beyond him.
It was downright fanciful.
Malachi Arcanus sat not far away, his gaze steadily on Luna Sutton.
For so reason, watching her deliberately irritate Corbin Crowley was very amusing.
Even sowhat anticipation sparked within him.
Anticipation that she might provoke even more sharply, hopefully making Corbin Crowley jump directly.
He thought malevolently, with a playful smile on his lips.
Luna Sutton naturally noticed several gazes upon her.
But she didn’t mind.
She took the roasted at to the corner, where a pile of discarded bones lay, stripped clean of at.
She picked two leg bones that looked decent; without anything to carry them, she could only hold them for now.
Seeing many animal innards, various animals’ insides, which the beastn didn’t care for.
Innards were good stuff indeed, liver, heart, lungs, all edible.
Especially intestines, stir-fried with chili and minced garlic were truly delicious.
Though there wasn’t any chili now, even a basic stir-fry would likely taste good.
Unfortunately, the tribe’s beastn wouldn’t process them, considering them dirty, tossing them away.
She picked so innards that seed from wild boars, including a set of pig intestines, planning to take them back for a stir-fry tomorrow.
In good spirits, she was about to take these bones and innards back.
When a mocking voice reached her ears, "Luna Sutton, carrying a pile of bones and disgusting things, what on earth are you doing? Planning to eat them?"
Luna Sutton turned around to see Mia approaching, looking mockingly at her.
She glanced at Mia, knowing she was deliberately finding fault, a coldness flickering in her eyes.
But she couldn’t be bothered to respond and turned to leave.
