Chi Yu watched from the side: "..."

Mom, please be more mature.

In the two days since Gu Yuan had returned to the old house, Chi Yu had observed how his mother took care of Suisui.

It didn’t feel like she was taking care of a granddaughter.

But rather, a daughter.

In his mother’s eyes, he and Suisui were like peers.

After finishing her whining in her husband’s arms, Madam Mu Lan restored her usual grace and dignity, stood up, walked over to Chi Yu, and asked directly, "When are you coming back next ti?"

Going back to her parents’ house...

Chi Yu’s temples twitched.

It seed like, in his mother’s eyes, he wasn’t a son, but a daughter who had been married off.

"Next ti I’ll probably be back around the New Year," said Chi Yu.

Hearing that she wouldn’t be able to see her beloved granddaughter until after the New Year, Madam Mu Lan’s elegant and dignified deanor disappeared, and she threw herself back into her husband’s arms: "Did you hear that? A married daughter is like splashed water, only coming ho once a year, breaking an old mother’s heart."

Quan Xishen gently patted his wife on the back to comfort her: "Alright, alright, I’m sure you’ll be back before the New Year. Worst-case scenario, you can always go to Sui City, can’t you?!"

That was true.

But Madam Mu Lan always felt a bit uneasy about going to Sui City and staying at the Gu Mansion.

Ugh, what a headache.

Chi Yu spoke up: "I just said probably around the New Year, didn’t say for sure. Mother, if you really miss Suisui, just let know and I can bring her over to you."

Madam Mu Lan wrinkled her nose: "At least that sounds a bit filial."

Chi Yu: "..." When have I ever not been filial?

Honestly though, Chi Yu didn’t have deep feelings for everyone in the Quan family since he was soone who had co from another world to this one, even though he had the sa life trajectory and mories, different is still different.

But in Chi Yu’s heart, although the Quan family was the Quan family, they were also his family.

As Chi Yu was getting ready to leave, Madam Mu Lan ntioned: "Jin, while you and Yuanyuan are still young, why not have another child? I understand if you’re both busy with work and don’t have ti to take care of kids, so just have the baby and leave them with us. You don’t have to worry at all."

Finally, she emphasized: "Have another one, two, or three, don’t worry, Mom can handle it."

Chi Yu’s mouth twitched again, his voice gentle: "That’s not sothing I get to decide."

Madam Mu Lan firmly stated: "I didn’t say you get to decide, I’m asking you to discuss it with Yuanyuan."

Chi Yu couldn’t help but laugh, his voice low and soft, finally replying to Madam Mu Lan with a simple: "We’ll see."

"You little rascal, playing Tai Chi with ."

He was already out of sight.

...

After returning, Chi Yu told Gu Yuan about it.

Although he repeated the original words, he added so embellishnts so that when it ca from Chi Yu’s mouth, it seed like the idea of having more kids really only ca from the mother-in-law, and had nothing to do with him as the husband.

Gu Yuan gazed at Chi Yu with a calm and profound look in her eyes: "You really don’t have this thought?"

Chi Yu maintained a straight face and earnestly replied: "No."

Gu Yuan stared at his expression for a long ti, mostly trusting that nine out of ten of his words were true, though when it ca from Chi Yu, how did it seem like the person wanting a second child was him?

"At the ti when I had Suisui, I thought that having one daughter like Suisui was enough for this lifeti..."

Chi Yu said: "No more kids, we just want Suisui."

Gu Yuan looked at Chi Yu’s face; he was serious.

And she thought to herself, wouldn’t that be a waste of good genes?

There are many beautiful faces, and Gu Yuan never considered herself the most beautiful.

But Chi Yu’s looks, in Gu Yuan’s aesthetic view and that of the public, are the pinnacle.

This man is naturally exceptional, unmatched by anyone.

The thought of such outstanding and perfect genes going to waste made Gu Yuan feel it was such a pity. She gave a mischievous smile which coincidentally t his gaze.

Gu Yuan: "Can’t let that go to waste."

Chi Yu: "Hmm?"

Truly, Chi Yu’s genes cannot go to waste.

At least, Gu Yuan believes that the external genes should be Chi Yu’s, while the genes for intelligence and personality should be hers; a combination of both would make for a perfect creation.

Suisui is too much like Chi Yu. In appearance, personality, all of it is like a one-to-one copy of Chi Yu, and Gu Yuan was just the carrier. Suisui doesn’t resemble her at all. If they have another one that looks like Chi Yu but has her personality, it would be too perfect.

Otherwise, with Suisui’s spirited personality, soone would definitely need to keep her in check in the future.
