The Dharma na of the monk at Huguo Temple is Dao Ji, and the abbot of West City Temple is known as Dao Xiu.

Qi Qin held Qi Xiao, while Lady Qi held Jun Ning’s hand. After offering incense, donating incense money, and fulfilling their vows, the group arrived at the ditation room hosted by Dao Xiu.

Qi Qin respectfully knelt while holding the child, and carefully narrated the child’s situation to Abbot Dao Xiu. After listening, Dao Xiu took the child from Qi Qin’s arms, examined the child closely, and then handed the child back to Qi Qin.

Subsequently, Dao Xiu’s gaze settled on Jun Ning.

"Does this young girl have a marriage agreent with the young master?" Dao Xiu asked.

Qi Qin, Lady Qi, and Jun Ning were all shocked: "......"

They hadn’t ntioned this matter, so how did Abbot Dao Xiu know?

Dao Xiu noticed their doubts and didn’t pretend to be mysterious, claiming it was divined or told by a deity. Instead, he replied frankly, "I heard it from a disciple in the temple."

Jun Ning chuckled, "Do monks also gossip?"

"Ahem." Lady Qi glanced at Jun Ning, "Do not speak carelessly."

"No harm." Dao Xiu said, "The disciples of the temple are also normal people. Occasionally they hear fresh happenings from outside and co back to discuss them, and in doing so, they seek to understand the philosophy of Buddhism."

This is normal practice, not gossip.

Lady Qi said, "I see."

Qi Qin, being clever, quickly guessed sothing, and he asked, "Master, when you suddenly ntioned the young girl’s marriage to my son, is it related to my son’s persistent crying?"

Dao Xiu admitted frankly, "Your guess is correct, it is indeed related."

Then, Dao Xiu explained to Qi Qin that Qi Xiao often cries because Qi Qin has fought in wars for many years, has killed too many people, and bears a heavy burden of sin, hence the child is disturbed by his aura of death.

As for how to solve this, it depends on Jun Ning.

The little girl is a lucky star born into the world, naturally exuding auspicious and noble energy. Since the two children already have a marriage agreent, their energies resonate on the sa frequency.

Thus, as long as Jun Ning is by Qi Xiao’s side, Qi Xiao will no longer cry.

But constantly having Jun Ning accompany Qi Xiao might not be good either.

If the two children are always together, growing up by each other’s side, fulfilling the marriage agreent might result in them becoming like siblings, losing the intention of marrying each other.

Therefore, Dao Xiu thought of a good solution.

In the future, there’s no need for Jun Ning to always be by Qi Xiao’s side. As long as Jun Ning transfers anything she has worn for more than a year for Qi Xiao to wear instead, Qi Xiao will no longer cry and will be like a normal child.

Qi Qin was overjoyed, "Good, thank you, Master Abbot."

Lady Qi was also delighted, following with, "Thank you, Master."

Jun Ning was even happier. She... she... she was finally free... she wouldn’t have to look after the child anymore...

This was truly a joyous occasion.

However, after the happiness, Jun Ning began to worry.

What does she have that has been worn for more than a year?

Before acknowledging her father, she lived in the Cold Palace.

In that place, she was always hungry and poorly clothed, unable to afford adornnt. Moreover, there was nothing to adorn herself with. Not only she, but her mother as well.

Furthermore, she was inherently unhealthy, plagued with congenital issues. To ensure she could live well and have enough to eat, her mother used all the jewelry and silver coin she had before entering the Cold Palace to curry favor with people.

Although she’s out of the Cold Palace now, it hasn’t been a year. There’s nothing she has worn for a year.

So as it stands, Jun Ning doesn’t have anything that’s been used for more than a year.

Next, she will have to continue accompanying her little nesis.

Jun Ning was instantly brought down.

After Qi Qin and Lady Qi finished asking about things, they bowed to Abbot Dao Xiu and were about to leave.

Still, it was Qi Qin holding the child and Lady Qi leading Jun Ning away.

But—

Before Jun Ning turned to leave, Dao Xiu called her, "Young girl, can you stay a mont? This humble monk has words to share with you!"

Jun Ning looked at Lady Qi, "Mother, you wait outside first—I’ll be right there."

"Alright." Qi Qin and Lady Qi went outside to wait.

Jun Ning looked in confusion at Dao Xiu, who had stopped her, "Master, what can I do for you?"

Dao Xiu opened his eyes to gaze at Jun Ning, saying with certainty, "...You’ve co from another world, haven’t you?"

Jun Ning looked at Dao Xiu as if confronting a formidable enemy, "What do you intend to do?"

"You needn’t worry, young girl. I an no harm, and your secret of coming from another world will remain with ." Dao Xiu said, "I rely wish to convey sothing to you."

Jun Ning asked, "What is it?"

"Everything in this world has its predetermined laws. When you suddenly acquire sothing that was not ant for you, you will naturally lose sothing."

"What do you an by that?"

Dao Xiu didn’t explain further but said, "If you hold great love in your heart, then what you gain is ant for you, and whatever you lose will return. But if you recklessly abuse your natural advantages, all that you have today will beco a sword turning against you in the future."

"You will not et a good end."

"I hope you will take heed and conduct yourself well."

After concluding, Dao Xiu stood and left.

Jun Ning, having heard it all, smiled and followed him out of the ditation room.

The abbot’s aning is simply to encourage her to do more good deeds to mitigate the karmic weight of suddenly obtaining everything in this world.

She understood.

Upon erging, Qi Qin asked what Abbot Dao Xiu wanted to speak with her about, and Jun Ning naively replied, "Abbot Dao Xiu said that if I want to grow old together in peace and contentnt with the Prince Consort, we must have those near us do more good deeds."

Dao Xiu, who hadn’t gone far: "......"

Seeing the little girl speak so earnestly, combined with Qi Qin’s guilt from years of killing on the battlefield, he took her words seriously.

"Very well, do more good deeds." Qi Qin gave Lady Qi a look, "Let’s organize a porridge giveaway at the mansion tomorrow. You should oversee it."

Lady Qi nodded, "Let’s make it a monthly affair."

Qi Qin agreed.

Jun Ning watched Dao Xiu’s retreating figure, "Master, you have just done a good deed; what do you think?"

Dao Xiu didn’t reply, smiling quietly as he left.

Lady Qi suddenly thought of sothing and asked Jun Ning, "Dear, could you give mother sothing you’ve worn for more than a year?"
