(From Blue's Perspective)

The third mission was complete. Just like the first two, it was painful and exhausting. But I felt I could do better than the other two.

"You did well, my daughter. I am so proud of you," Azure said, kissing on the forehead. I wished he would just not co near .

"After all, the father of our princess is the lord himself. There is no way the princess wouldn't be able to be a really powerful dark mage," Lloid said.

"May… I… rest for a… b-bit?" I asked. "I don't… feel… that well…"

"Ah, you have been through a lot. You need to rest up," Azure said. "We will go now. The doctor will be here soon. Cyan, take care of your sister for the ti being."

"I can also take care of the princess," Lloid suggested.

"No, I will do it. Lloid makes Blue feel uncomfortable," Cyan said.

"When did I do that?" Lloid asked. "I just want to make the princess feel comfortable."

"Oh, what an irony! You are doing just the opposite!" Cyan sniggered.

"Please… I… want to… rest," I said slowly.

"Let my daughter rest," Azure said and looked at Lloid. "Co with . Cyan will take care of her."

It was part of our plan. We knew Lloid would want to stay with . So, we made a plan to make sure it was Cyan who stayed. Our plan was to leave before the doctor ca because Cyan said Azure would shift to another room right after the doctor was done checking .

"Alright, now, we cannot teleport right away. We need to go outside first," he said. "The only way to do this is to distract and make a run."

I knew I had to run, but at the mont now that the ti was here, I felt sick. My body was very weak after using that much magic. I was sure I would fall unconscious right after using teleportation. But if I ran as well, I did not know what was going to happen to .

"You are not backing away, are you?" he asked.

"No… Of course n-not…," I said.

"Alright. Now, you will go downstairs with . It doesn't matter who is there. We will attack them," he said. "And, we will make a run."

"How… will I know… when t-to run?" I asked.

"I will give you a signal," he said. "If you want to leave this place, you need to be straightforward. It's not possible to leave in secret. When you decide to leave, you need to know that they will all know."

"I… Are you sure… we will… b-be okay?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "We will be able to get out of here, for sure."

Cyan was dressed as usual. When he handed a bottle of dicine, I saw sothing I should not have. There was an extra part of his robe and inside that, he had at least ten bottles filled with different potions and so papers. The sight made dizzy. Did he always carry potions that way?

"Forget what you saw," he said.

"I don't… have the h-habit to spill… secrets," I said.

"Oh, good for , I guess? Now, get up. You can run, right?"

As I stood up, I felt pain all over my body. Ignoring the pain, I gave him a nod. While he was taking a look outside the door, I was preparing myself for what was to co.

"Azure is there, talking to your mother-in-law," he said. "Let's go."

"This… is not…"

"It might not be a good idea, but it is the only option," he said. "Co on, if you truly want to leave. We have a backup."

"We… do?"

"Co on!"

I was the first to go. Cyan was right behind . We silently made it to the stairwell. It was out of sight from the first floor, so Azure and Mother did not notice us until we were on the first floor.

"What are you doing here, Blue?" Azure asked, surprised. "You should rest. Aren't you feeling tired?"

"Yeah…," I said. "It's just… there… is… sothing more… important t-to do…," I said, and just as Cyan told to, I attacked them.

Azure was experienced, he knew what I was going to do. I did not have the bracelet on since I had just co back from the mission.

Since I figured out how to use my power properly, I could hold him back. Mother also tried to attack, but Cyan was faster than her. It was shocking how fast he could bring out each potion and throw them. Experience exclusive tales on empire

Azure was more powerful than I was. But his heart was injured which was actually just a huge black stone. It was slow to produce black mana. Azure did not bother to waste his mana too much and only used enough power to hold back.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw a few more dark mages, including Lloid. "Keep on holding him back. Don't let it go," Cyan said, as he pulled by my hand. I noticed he made a hole in the wall, revealing the garden. I had no idea how or when he did that, but I would be an idiot to ask that now. "We will run.

But keep holding him back. Or, if not you, I am dead."

"You are… half mortal!"

"Ah, right…"

Everything happened very fast. I had a funny posture as I ran while creating a barrier around us. I was literally running backward, completely trusting Cyan.

We ran until we reached the end of the garden. "Teleport, now! Don't teleport straight to the palace! It's too far! Pick the forest nearby!" he yelled.

I did not have ti to argue. "Alright!"

It took everything to think of that forest while my mind was still busy keeping the barrier intact. It was very hard to be a mage. Luc made it look so easy that I thought I would be able to master it very easily.

Just before my barrier broke, we teleported. It took just a mont to reach our destination. I fell to the ground, breathing heavily.

"Oh…"

I took a look around. The place was familiar, but my partner was not there. "C-Cyan…!" I called. "Cyan! Where… are you?"

Five minutes went by. I could not move. My legs were too weak. My throat hurt, but I had been calling Cyan's na for a while. I rembered teleporting together. But then, where did he go?

There was no way he would get caught, not when I was the one using teleportation and we were holding hands.

"C-Cyan… Please… Where are… you? Where d-did you… go?"

My vision was going blurry. It was sothing I expected. Whenever I used too much power, it happened.

Suddenly, there was a sound. Instead of Cyan's voice that I wanted to hear, it was a ow. Then, again.

A cat climbed on and rubbed its face against my chest. I touched its fur. The timing was not good, but I felt better. It made rember my Sapphire. It had been a long ti since I had seen her. Did she forget about ?

I hoped that was not the case.

"C-Cyan…," I called again. Part of expected not to get an answer.

But I did; just not the answer I imagined.

"Who is this Cyan? A man?"

My heart almost stopped beating. I gasped, turning around. Tears started to fall from my eyes. No word ca out of my mouth. I could only try.

He bent down and touched my face. "It's been long. It's been really long," he said.

His lips touched mine and I could only close my eyes, as my heart felt tingly. It was comfortable and felt like ho.
