(From Blue's Perspective)
"Have you co to hang out? That's great!" Luc said as Ezekiel and I went to the magic tower the next day.
"Yeah, and I have to ask you about sothing as well," I said.
"Co in and sit down first. You look really red and tired."
"Oh, that's... Ezekiel was teaching swordsmanship."
"Good. But to think Detrius let you..."
"He is the one who suggested it," I said.
"He truly is different with you," he muttered. "Anyway, sit down. I will get you a glass of water."
"No need. I brought so water for Her Highness," Ezekiel said. It was true he had already brought water for . I was almost dying during the training, so he went back to get so water.
I took a seat on the couch. It felt like my whole body was lting. It was nice to sit down after swordsmanship training.
'My butt feels perfectly rested...'
"So what is it you wanted to know?" Luc asked, sitting beside . Ezekiel was sitting at our front. This ti, I did not have to tell him to sit down.
"What do you know about cursed eyes?" I asked.
"Cursed eyes?" Luc repeated.
I nodded. "I want to know what you know."
"Did Detrius tell you about it?"
"It doesn't matter. I thought if I co to you, I might know about it."
He scratched his scalp and sighed. "Well, I know as much as others know, nothing more I guess."
"Tell then."
"Black eyes are called cursed eyes. There are types of dark eyes- like not too black, and fully black as if it's devil's playground. Just like the devils within you can see your real self, the devils within the cursed eyes can not only see the real self of the person, but also others."
"See the real self of others?" I mumbled. It seed like I could understand most parts now. If cursed eyes could see the real self of others, it ant that anyone was exposed in front of the devils of the cursed eyes. Detrius could hear others' thoughts. He could read their minds, their real thoughts. It was just like Luc said.
Dem could see a person's real self as well. Perhaps it was because of his black eyes.
"Yes. I don't know how, but that's all it's said in books. Won with black eyes rarely have any demonic ability, but n sure do. I don't know what your husband's ability is," he said. "Do you know?"
"... No. No, I don't," I muttered. Detrius had not sent a letter yet. The bird was not here as well. After it took my letter to Dem, it did not co back.
I wondered if it was alright. I had never sent a letter, and that's also using a bird.
I was worried, so I asked Ezekiel if it was alright. He said that the bird of death was dangerous. No one could harm it easily. Perhaps Dem was too busy. He had gone to work after all. I hoped he was alright.
Before leaving, he said that he had gone to take care of mosquitoes along with checking the borders.
"What are you thinking, Blue?" I jerked hearing my na. Last night, I heard my na as well in the weird dream. I again had that weird dream. It was right after I had a nightmare about my past. They would not go away and in the darkness, it seed like the devils of the past were calling , trying to take away. Then that person ca and called my na, pulling out of the darkness.
But I again did not rember if it was a he or a she.
"You really are not yourself today," Luc said. "Do you have a fever or sothing?"
"Ah, no... I'm fine," I laughed it off. "By the way, Luc, do you know if there is any dream where a person talks to you freely, but then you don't rember their voice?"
"What do you an?" Luc asked.
"Um, I sorta have this nightmare every night. Then soone calls my na and comforts . Then that person talks to . It's as if a dream within a dream. I could never see their face though... In the morning, I forget all about that person.
I don't even rember their voice. Now I don't even know if it's a he or she," I said.
"That's pretty weird. I have never heard of anything like this," Luc said.
"Right? I know it too... It's the first ti I had this weird dream."
"Does that person make you feel better?" Ezekiel asked all of a sudden.
"Ah, that person talks to and I can talk to him freely as well. It almost feels as if I'm talking to a real person," I smiled. "Well, I'm kinda glad as that dream helps to get out of my nightmare. No one likes to stay inside a nightmare, right? That's why I'm glad," I said.
"I'm glad," Ezekiel mumbled.
"Huh?" I asked in confusion.
Luc coughed loudly. "By the way, Blue, do you miss your husband?"
"Yeah, a lot. I sent him a letter, but he hasn't replied yet. I think he is busy."
"He is," Luc chuckled bitterly. "That guy has gone to take care of so trash, I an in his words."
"Yeah, he told ."
"He told you? I an, just like that? Like he told you everything?" Luc asked with a shocked expression.
"Huh? Yeah," I replied.
"Do you know what it ans to take care of trash?" Ezekiel asked.
"Yes. Doesn't it an killing?" I asked bluntly.
"... He chose the perfect wife for him," Luc muttered. "To think you took it so lightly... I an, I expected you to be scared or sothing like that."
"Should I be?" I asked. Well, it was not like I was not scared. But Dem said that he needed to do it and besides, in historical romance novels, I had read about kings taking care of these types of things. It was not a big deal. Now as my life was just like a historical romance novel, I did not care about these things and could take everything seriously, but not worry too much.
"Haha, no, you should not," Luc laughed. "Ah, and I am sorry for hugging you that day. Your husband had given a piece of his mind before he left and told to keep my distance."
"Oh, is that so?"
"He cares about you a lot after all. Though I don't know what it feels to have a mate, I still understand how much you an to him and how much he ans to you," Luc said. "Even if there is soone trying to take one of you away, they don't stand a chance."
I did not understand why Luc added the last sentence. Perhaps he just ant that we were inseparable. It was true in a way. Unlike most couples in romance novels, we never faced any misunderstanding and even if we did once, we cleared it out.
We had perfect communication and we barely hid anything from each other. And besides, there were no jealousy issues since everyone feared Detrius and did not get close to him. Even if they did, Detrius would not pay them much attention. Sotis he was rude with others though. And I was not close to many n as well except Luc and Ezekiel. Luc was Dem's friend and also my friend now.
And Ezekiel was my personal knight. He was supposed to be with all the ti. That was why everything was fine between us. Both of us knew how to keep our distance from other people.
Dem was not a perfect person, but neither was I. Both of us had so weird thoughts about the world and the way we viewed it was different as well. It was as if two puzzle pieces fitting together.
Our communication helped us to stay pure to each other without a hint of misunderstanding. And we trusted each other, but sotis it felt like Dem was worried that I might leave him. No matter how many tis I told him that I would not, he was never properly convinced.
The only thing I could do now was to keep being with him so he did not need to believe it, rather he would not even find the ti to think about him since I would always be there.
And our respect for each other made us fall in love. I was waiting for the right ti to tell him that I loved him and what he was feeling was love. Perhaps I needed to wait until he returned as written words were not enough to express how much I loved him.
"You're smiling, Blue," Luc said.
"I just rembered sothing good," I said. "Well, I will take my leave now. It has been quite a while."
"Alright," Luc said. "And Ezekiel, after escorting her back, co here again. I need to have a word with you."
