Chris smirked looking at the sub-task number 3. A C-Grade awakened knight under himself? Who else would suit a better role than this young chubby man that Chris has just found…?
"You bastard! How dare you talk back to ?!" Myra was shocked hearing Sid's change in tone. Since when did this worthless simp develop guts to speak back to her?
"Never mind it anymore. And as for you, kind little angel, you can have this plushie for free." Sid smiled at Cassie brightly.
Chris saw Cassie take the unicorn plushie and asked Sid, "What do you do for a living?"
"S-Sir, I am studying to be a Chartered Accountant." Sid still retained a bit of his shy and submissive behavior, even when he was feeling his whole body bubbling with energy.
Chris felt an urge to salute Sid in praise seeing this. When his own body was filled to the brim with energy, Chris was feeling he could destroy the world with a punch.
He used to feel that he is at the top of the world, no one in this world could beat him. So still being submissive and like a weakling, that was surely an achievent.
Of course, not the achievent Chris would ever like to recieve. He liked to be taking charge.
He wouldn't really call himself too dominant or sothing like that, but he was surely not a sub.
"Ohh? A CA? That's quite interesting." Chris humd in amusent, a CA huh? That would surely be a nice excuse to take Sid under his wing!
"Y-Yes sir, I have passed the CA interdiate exam already!" Sid quickly tried to sell out his achievents to Chris since he could already sense Chris was getting interested.
"CA interdiate already, huh? That's quite an achievent." Max nodded along with Chris. Max could vaguely guess why Chris was getting interested in Sid.
It was probably because of the recent incident! An awakened guard could be quite costly, so maybe he was trying to invest into a newbie awakened!
That would surely be a worthy investnt.
"Hey you nerdy bastard, move away!" however, before Sid could feel happy for his successful generation of interest, he was pushed away by a strong hand.
"Sir, I am much better than that worthless piece of garbage!" the owner of the voice was a young muscular man. He was slim and fit with his muscles clearly visible under his slim fit sports tee.
"Is that so? What stage of CA examination are you at?" Chris looked at him with a bored look in his eyes.
This muscular gym rat was no way anywhere near to the self awakened submissive guy like Sid. After all, a person like Sid would be even much easier to control in future.
"Uhh, I am only at foundation stage, sir. But I promise I will work harder than him if you give a chance!" he quickly promised in a resolute voice. And as if to prove his words, he flexed his well toned body.
"At foundation? You are basically worthless then. I can find thousands of cheap gym rats like you all over the city. And also, those muscles are filthy." Chris scrunched in disgust.
"Steroids, I guess. Geez imagine using steroids to get such filthy muscles. Couldn't be ." Max waved his hands in front of his nose to swat away the imaginary disgusting stench.
But Chris and Max's words seed to have a deeper effect on the poor gym rat as he kept repeating a word over and over again like a broken tape, "F-Filthy…?"
"Sir, I am at interdiate stage too. If you take , I swear you wouldn't regret it~" Myra shoved the heartbroken gymrat away and quickly proposed coquettishly. She was licking her own lips, her open collar button showing off her bountiful cleavage.
Yet. Not even Max's eyes wavered.
Max took a good look at her, almost as if he wasn't even directly looking at her but rather sothing else!
Finally after staring for few good seconds, he calmly looked at Chris and nodded.
Seeing the nod, Myra was elated, thinking she had succeeded!
It pained her that she had to act in such disgraceful way. But, if it works out, she will be able to get backing of two rich n! Not to ntion incredibly handso!
"So, what is it Maxxie?" Chris yawned carelessly.
"Why do you even need to ask Chris? Even you know I wouldn't stoop so low." Max sighed seeing Chris's look.
"Ohh? You wouldn't? I thought it was your motto, 'there is a goal where there is a hole'." Chris laughed.
"'There is a goal where there is a hole' my foot! Bastard even I have so standards!" Max shot back in rage.
'I don't know why… but I am feeling really offended right now…' Myra stayed completely silent, her eyes twitching at the exchange of words that happened right in front of her face.
"Well anyways, Myra, was it? You are rejected even by Max. There is no way I can agree." Chris shrugged with a scoff.
"W-What?! You reject but you accept that worthless simping bastard?!" Myra couldn't believe her ears. She, a living goddess was rejected by them when a worthless piece of shit was accepted?!
"Well, that worthless bastard is now an Awakened. You better treat him with respect." Chris scoffed and extended his arms towards Sid to help him up.
"A-Aw-Awakened…?! He is an Awakened?!" mostly everyone who was present near the claw machine, shouted in surprise at the sa ti.
After all, an average guy, cast aside by everyone, treated like crap by his peers, he out of all was awakened?! How can they believe it?!
"I- I refuse to believe he is an awakened! Prove it, you worthless simp!" Myra sneered.
"There is no need for to do what you say anymore, Myra." Sid replied simply and patted away the dust on his clothes.
"Wh-What? You dare deny?!" Myra yelled.
Myra was a self entitled princess, who beca like that due to the repeated contributions of Sid. The poor guy treated her a bit too 'well' that she began to think she was the best of them all. She was above them all. The brightest of the stars.
And she, who was already getting addicted to Sid's obedience and behavior, was the one most shocked about his denial.
After all, who was he to deny her orders?
"I think our governnt has already decreed the right to freedom for every citizen." Sid shrugged carelessly.
"Hahaha, brother, he is funny." Cassie laughed at Sid's words and spoke to Chris in a hushed voice.
"No, Cass. He isn't the one who is funny. They are the ones who are actual clowns." Chris chuckled and rubbed Cassie's head lovingly.
"Ah yes! How did I not think of that!"
"..." Myra's eyes twitched again at Chris's direct taunt to all of her group. But alas, what could she do except stay silently and accept his words?
He was releasing such a strong aura that Myra instinctively knew she shouldn't ss with him at all.?So all she could do was stand there and take all he threw at her.
"So, Sid. I would like to hire you as a CA in my company, what do you think? And naturally, you will be continuing your studies." Chris ignored Myra and offered it to Sid.
"W-What… I… I really appreciate it sir! I won't let you down!" Sid shed a few years of happiness, since this was the first ti he was treated nicely, not to ntion, like a human.
"Of course." Chris smiled and patted Sid's shoulders as he gestured for the sa worker Taylor had called for.
The worker saw Chris and was instantly alerted since he recognised Chris from earlier, thus he didn't dare try to disrespect and politely ca up to Chris.
"Make him a new card and recharge it with 10,000$." Chris told to the worker calmly.
"T-Ten thousand is too much, sir…" Sid spoke shyly.
"No, it's fine. Enjoy." Chris chuckled and patted Sid again, turning around to leave, "I guess I paid back for the unicorn plushie now." he left chuckling.
'I guess we can play the bumper cars now.' Chris grinned
