Ranked second on the ESPN power rankings are the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Boston Celtics hold the third spot.
Of course, this is just one opinion from ESPN.
Regarding the "Three Giants" of the Lakers compared to Boston’s "Three Giants," there’s been a great deal of debate about which side is stronger.
It’s these pervasive discussions about the Lakers and the Celtics that have many old-school fans exclaiming that it feels like a return to the "Magic-Bird" days of the ’80s.
Indeed, what goes around cos around.
The Los Angeles dia, naturally, believe they are the strongest team this year.
Kobe said at a press conference, "No team can stop this year’s Los Angeles Lakers!"
Phil Jackson also said, "This is the Lakers’ best chance to win the championship since ’02!"
And the Boston dia likewise believe that, after nearly 20 years of silence, it’s ti for the Celtics to take the championship.
In order to reflect the team’s fighting spirit...
They’ve described this Celtics team as "the old guard’s last hurrah!"
To be honest, this marketing strategy was very successful, to the point where many fans started calling this Celtics team "The Elder Three Giants."
But actually, Ray Allen was just 32 years old at the ti, Paul Pierce was only 30, and Kevin Garnett was just 31... To say so of them had passed their absolute peak, that had so basis, but to say their trio was about a "last hurrah,"
That statent was sowhat biased.
Everyone knows it wouldn’t be their last season together.
As far as Su Wan knew, the Celtics’ roster stayed strong for at least another 3-4 years, and Ray Allen, who retired the earliest, gradually faded from the league only in ’15. And now it’s just ’07.
The true "old guard’s last hurrah" was actually the Rockets team that Barkley joined.
Boston calling this Celtics team that na was just because they thought the label of "superteam" didn’t sound nice.
Rationally speaking, Boston was the first team of the ’00s to form a "superteam," kickstarting the trend.
Then LeBron took it to another level...
You’re forming a superteam?
Then don’t bla for "peak superteaming"!
After that, Kevin Durant upgraded it further...
You’re peak superteaming?
Then don’t bla for taking the hardest road!
Of course, Kevin Durant played hard, and his ultimate fate was the worst:
The "Green Formula" ca full circle;
His Achilles was ruptured;
No roots to be found;
Kevin Durant proved that he indeed took the hardest road.
The Cleveland dia were quite unhappy with being ranked ninth in the entire league.
Last season they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, and this sumr they lost Shaquille but gained Vince Carter. The team strength hadn’t obviously declined; if they couldn’t secure a top-four, should they not be in the top six?
Now they’re just ninth?
"No worries, ti will prove everything. Soon everyone will realize exactly where the Cavaliers should be ranked this season!"
LeBron made his first appearance of the new season, his massive muscles catching everyone’s eye.

He had obviously beco much bulkier.
Looking at his tank-like physique and listening to his statent, Cleveland reporters only had two words to say:
Reassured!
LeBron also spoke about Vince Carter, "He’s an incredible guy. We’ve beco very good friends, and I believe we’ll get along great."
Vince Carter agreed, "LeBron has been very welcoming. When I first ca to Cleveland, he invited out many tis, helping get acquainted with Cleveland. Great guy."
What he ant to say was:
This guy isn’t as bad as I thought.
If it were with the Raptors, he would say it outright, but everything that happened when he left the Raptors, along with his experience with the Brooklyn Nets, taught him to be less blunt when speaking to the dia.
However, even so, the words he did speak were still what he believed.
At least for now, he enjoyed his ti with LeBron.
Worth ntioning is...
LeBron Jas turned into a "Big Jibba," and over in Orlando, Howard appeared before the dia, also transford into a "Big Jibba"—except when he spoke, he always had the deanor of a "cheerful, sunny big boy."
So much so that the dia felt he had a "gullible big guy" vibe.
But when he spoke, his expression was full of confidence, "I feel like Superman right now, and soon you all will feel that way too!"
When he said this, Howard’s confidence surpassed ever before; his beaming smile as if to say:
I’m not joking, I am frighteningly strong at the mont.
Yet at this mont, he didn’t know that these words would attract the attention of the "Old Shark" stuck in New Jersey.
But not at the mont—currently, Shaquille just sneered at Howard calling himself "Superman," with no further response, his attention more focused on Cleveland’s situation.
Suppressing LeBron and Cleveland was his greatest motivation.
What?
You say Su Wan has also been giving Shaquille O’Neal a hard ti, so why doesn’t Shaquille bother him?
How else would he be the great Shaquille?
When dealing with a phenonon-level player like Su Wan, who was at the height of his fa and whom he almost certainly could not get back at, Shaquille O’Neal always lived by "if I can’t provoke, I can avoid."
But with soone like LeBron, he would fiercely retaliate, seizing any opportunity to mock him.
