C18 – Death of the Elderly

Upon hearing this, the Captain of the City Guard was elated. “Yes! Young Master Tai!”

The old man stood firmly in front of Chen Tai, like a giant wall, blocking his way.
“Grandfather!” ng Er cried out, deeply worried for him.
After all, the old man was quite aged. If Chen Tai decided to attack, the old man’s body wouldn’t withstand it.
That was why she was so anxious.

Only then did the old man nod in satisfaction. After that, he never spoke again, closing his eyes forever.
At that mont, Chen Shaofeng realized how fragile life truly was, and that there was no one else like the old man left.
He did not cry, not because he was stubborn, but because he knew the old man didn’t want that; he just wanted ng Er to be safe.
