This was technically what she wanted right? Abrielle always knew this day would co, and from Cedric’s reaction, she was sure the plot was controlling him because she was also influenced by it.

The blue screen in front of her which she tried to ignore said it all,

FAILURE OF TASK: "KILL PRINCE CEDRIC BEFORE THE OFFICIAL FIRST SCENE OF THE BOOK.

PENALTY: INCREASES PLOT CONTROL IN THIS WORLD."

PLOT CONTROL ON THE WORLD HAVE INCREASED.

The ssage was clear, this was turning into a losing battle. If not she wasn’t overwheld and thought more clearly maybe the outco would have been different.

"What are your thoughts on the winter hunt incident?" The king asked with his gaze focused on Callista. Despite the opposite she received from the king to pay the debt of gratitude she owed to Lucian.

"It was influenced by powers beyond our reach, a strong sorcery but it’s hard to know their motive." Callista confidently expressed, her words exactly how they were written in the novel.

"I thought as much, to prove your value I would be putting you in charge of the investigation with Cedric and Lucian assisting you. We need to get to the bottom of this which has caused a lot of problems in the kingdom." The king explained assigning roles, just like in the novel. It was during this period Lucian would fall for Callista while Cedric tried to win her over.

Callista’s eyes went wide at the role she was given she imdiately bowed. "Your Majesty, I am not sure if I am suitable for the assignnt given to , but I will do my best." She submissively said, the King’s eyes narrowed sceptically at her. All these while Cedric’s gaze still lingered on Callista.

It felt like Abrielle was watching a live movie remake from a first-person point of view, the villainess’s point of view. "Cedric, do you have any complaints concerning the agreent?" The king asked Cedric, breaking him from his lingering gaze on Callista, then finally trailed away to the king, then Lucian, and then a sly smirk graced his lips.

"I have no issues with the arrangents, I am looking forward to working with the crown prince and the priestess." He answered, based on his personality, that the king was expecting him to reject, but he agreed without much hesitation.

"Then everything is settled. To celebrate Lucian’s victory, we will be having a welcoming ball this night." The king declared.

Things were proceeding as written; Abrielle drew in a deep breath; the most important thing was that she was still alive.

"If you don’t mind, we had a long journey, and Abrielle would like to rest before the victory banquet." Cedric chirped in, and the king agreed on the spot. Cedric gave a slight bow and then took Abrielle out of the study.

As soon as they crossed the door he let go of her hand and silently escorted her out of the palace. If things were going exactly as the plot, Lucian would be in there discussing so of his observations from his journey and so clues related to the sorcerers.

The king, of course, will feel more impressed by his knowledge, while Callista will confidently show her potential and knowledge. The first arc of the novel is focused on Callista gaining the royal family’s trust while she establishes her feelings for Lucian.

"Abrielle," she heard Cedric suddenly call out her na, she glanced at his tall figure and handso face covered by a mask. To be honest, Cedric was more good-looking than Lucian, which was strange because, of course, Lucian, as the male lead, was designed to be very good-looking.

"Is sothing bothering you?" She asked him. Cedric turned to face her. His face was calm, but from those gold eyes, she felt sothing was amidst his gaze. They seed foggy.

"What do you think about Calista?" He asked, taking her a bit unaware that it was not a question she was expecting. Abrielle held her hand, and imdiately, Callista popped into her head there was this rage she felt. It was confusing. After all, she had no reason to hate Callista because she didn’t even like Cedric.

Yes, she could admit that she did not hate him as originally because he had saved her life a couple of tis and hearing about his kind part did change her opinion of him, but love was far-fetched. She didn’t love him and honestly did not have an issue with his interest in Callista.

If possible, she would have loved to watch how the love story she wrote played out when the female lead was stuck between light and darkness, but unfortunately, she could not do that. Cedric falling deeply in love with Callista would ultimately lead to her death even if she didn’t try to hurt Callista.

He would need to get rid of his first wife to show his devotion to Callista. "She seems to be kind and talented, two attributes I am lacking. Callista is a nice person." Abrielle answered that she had to be careful not to show animosity towards the female lead.

Cedric moved closer to her, his fingers tilted her face to stare into her eyes like his gold eyes were bounding her. Her blue eyes were clear, and he wished he could believe her but he knew she was lying.

"Then why were you glaring at her like you want her dead?" He asked, and her heartbeat dropped to her stomach.

"I wasn’t glaring at her, I have no reason to hate soone I have never t before," Abrielle answered, she wasn’t glaring at her. Cedric signed he must be seeing things. She wasn’t glaring at Callista but instead had a fake smile on, he was sure he sensed her hatred for Callista.

His wife was the greatest puzzle he could ever understand. Abrielle also didn’t have a reason to kill him but her actions said otherwise.

He escorted Abrielle back to the carriage that was waiting for her. "I might not return until ti for the victory banquet," Cedric said; he wanted to reach out to place a peck on her forehead out of instinct, but sothing stopped him.

Abrielle nodded and then got on the carriage. She did not question his actions because she knew he was going to stay behind to discuss with the king and possibly get close to his love interest.

Cedric watched the carriage go, and imdiately, his eyes darkened. Why was he having strange voices in his head telling him to hate Abrielle for being pretentious while praising Callista?
