. "What did you choose then?" Abrielle asked Cedric. Based on his personality he was most likely going to fight. Cedric wasn’t a coward to continue hiding in the shadows, and no kingdom wants to hide soone as dangerous as him.

"I am fighting for the throne, it is the only choice for , but I think maybe Rebecca is right as much as the thought of being away from you is." He said with certainty, like it was the only option for him, but she didn’t expect him to consider letting her go. It was unexpected and she could sense the contemplation in his tone. Cedric didn’t want to send her away.

She moved from his hands, puzzled, he was the sa one against the idea.

"What changed Cedric?"

Cedric sighed. "I am hearing rumours I hope are not true but lies."

Her heart started beating fast. "Is Lucian heading here already?" Abrielle’s stomach squeezed; she was certain her family would be able to hide them from Lucian, but it was still a bad idea.

"If only it were that simple?" Cedric sighed. There was sothing he wanted to say, but he felt hesitant about it. "Then what is it? Don’t leave in tension just like that."

Cedric got off the bed and started pacing by the side. He was being troubled by sothing. "Why was I out there? I gathered information and have confird that Lucian will be arriving here at any ti." He admitted.

"That isn’t a problem, my parents would hide us long enough to escape the crossfire after all, no one saw us coming in here and the servant would dare not speak."

That was the case but still Cedric was worried.

"What if they can’t? What if they are forced to give us out?" Abrielle shook her head. Her parents would never do that

"It is not possible. It just can’t be." Or was it possible? No matter how she looked at it. She just didn’t see her parents doing sothing like that.

"That’s what I thought, but sothing has been bothering about you, Abrielle. For centuries, every child born to the Nightshade family was born with holy magic, but your case was different. Not only were you not born with it, but you also have a type of magic of Heliosian origin." He stopped pacing, rubbing his hand on his jaw.

From the look of things. Cedric had been thinking about this over and over again.

"Why are you bringing this up now? We both know my parents sealed my magic to hide that fact, and besides, my great-grandmother was of Heliosian heritage." Abrielle explained that her mother’s grandmother was from a Heliosian noble family, where her ginger hair ca from.

Cedric glanced at her. He found that out when he was investigating her past. The ti he was jealous of Lucian. Not only did he find out Abrielle was originally ant to be the crown prince consort, Lucian’s fiancée, but she was of Heliosian heritage.

The large kingdom over the ocean. He knew that. When it was revealed she had Heliosian magic that was taboo in Dacronia, it wasn’t strange. Presently, diplomatic ties between Heliosa and Dacronia were strained because of their equal war power and the possibility of evasion, but there was a ti when things were better.

That was when Abrielle’s great-grandmother was married off. Then Heliosian magic wasn’t tabooed by the temple. Things have changed, and most nobles would rather act talentless than reveal Heliosian magic. Everything made sense but it was strange.

Rebecca didn’t have Heliosian magic; instead, she had Dacronia magic, a special type of magic associated with plants, which she got from her grandfather, and her mother also possessed.

It’s been 2 generations but suddenly Abrielle chose to pick Heliosian magic after 2 generations. Yes, there was a slim chance of that happening, but with a recessive Heliosian gene fighting against one of the strongest Dacronia magics, the chances were close to impossible.

Abrielle was ant to inherit holy magic from Pierre. That was Cedric’s conjecture.

"What do you know about your birth? Did Rebecca give birth with a relative at the sa place, or anything odd about it?" He asked her and Abrielle was getting scared by where he was going.

"I don’t know. The only thing I know is that my mother’s pregnancy was complicated, and she had to give birth at her parents’ place for special care." She explained, Cedric squatted by her bedside and held her hand.

"I guess only Rebecca knows the answer I have. I tried asking her but she avoided it. I don’t know for sure. It is a gut feeling, but I think you might be a twin or worse, were switched at birth with the true Nightshade baby." Cedric explained, her eyes went wide and she pulled her hand from his hold

Abrielle got off the bed shaking her head. That is impossible. Why did he co up with such a ridiculous idea? She was not a twin, and she was Nightshade. Hazel had written Abrielle’s backstory word for word and rembered every single detail.

Abrielle was the main antagonist after Cedric, then the leader of the sorcerers."That is impossible Cedric. I have been a Nightshade and will always be one." She barked at him, dismissing him.

Cedric walked to her and pulled her into a hug. She didn’t want to accept his hug, which would an accepting a lie. "Why did you think of sothing so crazy?" His voice broke.

His hold tightened. "It is impossible for you to inherit a recessive Heliosian gene over a dominant power Dacronia gene. You should have gotten holy magic."

She shook her head and glanced at him. "My case was special that was why I got sealed at birth." Her voice cracked.

"I hope that is the case because I have seen soone around the sa age as you born during the sa period from my prediction, and she possesses holy magic unique only to the Nightshade family," Cedric explained, and soone ca to her mind.

Did she truly have a twin? It can’t be that Cedric would not be shaken by just a twin. "I can’t believe it. I don’t want to."

Cedric held her face gazing into her blue eyes. "You know the answer Abrielle. You have t her before, and she was the one who killed Kaiden the night of the victory banquet."
