Abrielle sneezed for the hundredth ti today, and Evelyn was getting concerned. She didn’t want to think much about it yesterday when she sent the girls away, but ever since she woke up this morning, she has been sneezing.

Evelyn ordered so soup to be made for her, which she had in the morning, but the symptoms didn’t subside, and the maid was getting paranoid her lady might have gotten a cold.

"Achoo," Abrielle sneezed, rubbing her nose with a handkie. Evelyn’s lips were pressed into a thin line. They were approaching the courtyard where carriages were lined up.

Cedric has been very busy since yesterday making arrangents for their journey back to Vitalis. "Are you sure you will be able to travel, Your Highness?" Evelyn asked.

Abrielle shook her head; she wasn’t feeling sick. Maybe she was allergic to sothing. "Yes, I am fine. Maybe it’s just an allergic reaction." She shrugged off.

She stepped out of the shade under the bright sunlight, a wild blow across, taking off her hat. Abrielle scread trying to catch it as she jumped

She missed the hat, her eyes only sympathetically watching it as it flew away in the direction of the knights. Luckily Cedric had spotted the hat and easily caught it with his height.

"Cedric," she chid once she spotted him. She grabbed the excess of his gown walking briskly to the prince that just spotted her.

He whispered a few words to his n before turning around. He walked a few steps before eting up with her. "You dropped this." He ntioned helping her to put on the hat as he carefully tied the string.

"More like it flew away," she joked. Her eyes darted behind him to the shoulders.

"I heard you were feeling unwell. Your nose does look a bit red." He ntioned spotting out her red nose from excessive sneezing.

"I had been sneezing a bit," her eyes scanned their environnt, and she could guess her suspicions about the war were right. Cedric’s entire army of knights seed ready to travel. She guesses the plot event hasn’t totally changed.

"The courtyard looks pretty busy. I wasn’t expecting this large entourage." She sneered at him, knowing he was hiding details from her. She hated how he was still keeping her in the dark.

Cedric smirked, "I guess it’s hard hiding things from you although it’s obvious. There seed to be a minor issue at the borders. They are heading there for support." He explained taking her hand as he led her to their carriage.

’ Minor issue. ’ Abrielle felt like scoffing. It was a war he was calling a minor issue. Since he was hiding it, she smiled, pretending to believe him. "I hope things work out smoothly." Abrielle chid.

They got to their carriage, and Cedric helped her get settled in first. Inside was cool away from the blazing sun. He followed after taking a seat beside her.

Cedric seed to have a lot on her mind and she had a feeling it wasn’t just the war. The Cedric she knew was never fazed by war although this one did have a major significance to the story.

It was a long war which ended after a couple of months of fighting and defending. A bit longer than other wars he had participated in.

"You seem to have a lot on your mind." Her voice drew him from his thoughts. His gaze was distant as he stared at his window.

Hearing her gaze he glanced at her. She was keenly watching him. "Nothing you should worry about. Everything will be fine with ti," he replied; his answer hinted there was more than he wasn’t talking about.

Cedric had a lot on his mind, but what bothered him the most was that the ladies of the moon were after Abrielle. He found two of the cultists among his captives and was able to get the information from them.

They orchestrated the kidnapping; it seed like they knew Abrielle planned on running away and used it to their advantage.

"How long will it take for us to get Vitalis?"

"2 to 3 days maximum." He replied, and she nodded at him. The carriage started to move as they exited the Black Thorn castle. The entourage was large because they were taking the remaining girls the ones whose destination was on the sa route as them

The castle was hidden in the forest; originally, this castle area was Cedric’s land the king gave to him. Under normal circumstances, if not for the fact the battle for the throne is bloody, Cedric was ant to handle the land as a duchy under him after Lucian took the throne, but that wasn’t going to happen.

Blackthorn wasn’t the best land out there; it wasn’t an economic hub, and there was no way the ruling king would let Cedric live.

To the outside world, Blackthorn was Cedric’s vacation house; no one outside the shadow knights knew it was a secret military base.

Even the rescued girls’ movent was restricted, and when they were taken in and out of the area, they were blindfolded, including the magistrates who ca to take them.

A knight accompanied them until they were out of the area to keep the exact location hidden.

After exiting the forest, they got on the main road, where the group split. The knights, being led by Curtis, took the route leading to the borders while Cedric continued towards the capital.

The carriage was quiet the entire ti, Abrielle’s eyes were on the road. A tired sigh left her lips. A soft sneeze left her lips again, drawing his attention. He watched her cover her nostrils with her handkerchief.

"I thought we agreed to be sincere with each other." Her steady voice echoed in the carriage, and Cedric stiffened, nervous with her tone.

"Why are you hiding the fact there is a war at the borders?" She asked him, folding her hankie she placed on her lap.

Cedric sighed feeling a headache coming. "I didn’t want to stress you. You are currently recovering and knowing won’t help either."

Abrielle’s brows furrowed her voice, cutting him. "You think it will just be a liability if I know because I have nothing to offer." She snapped at him

"I don’t want your health to get worse." He argued, his sincere tone even made her angrier.
