The girls were more cooperative than Abrielle had imagined. The older ones that had participated in the culling event eagerly shared their experience which helped Abrielle co up with an idea to escape. Yes, they were going to escape through the eerie forest at the back.

If Abrielle’s mories were right, the greatest danger that could be there was ghouls. There was no way sothing like Wanderer or Khaos was there.

The maze was heavily bobby-trapped. Becky, who has been to Culling twice, confird that the trap’s locations were changed every ti. It was better to move in small groups to avoid detection. That might be an issue because they didn’t have many combat mages.

"How about we make crude weapons like a spike to attack the nobles and then get their weapons? My family are hunters so handling weapons isn’t a hassle." Betty suggested. Abrielle was a bit surprised because Betty didn’t have the build of the Hunter.

"We can work with that too, but I have another idea that will rely on Camilla," Abrielle suggested, a smirk gracing Camilla’s lips. She was going to love this.

"I have a feeling it is sothing dangerous, but lucky for you, I love wild gas." She chid, her eyes sparkling.

"Do you have any access to small weapons like knives or daggers during your rendezvous?" She asked Camilla. A sigh left Camilla’s lips. "We do have so nights Jake loves to go wild and cut a bit of in the weaponry." She spoke about Jake’s weird kink like it was nothing. Abrielle’s stomach squird just imagining it.

"Why do you ask?" Camilla added; the princess nodded, taking in all the information. "It is also safe to assu you can get to the back like the maze and go a few seconds unsupervised."

"Yeah, but I hate it there." Camilla’s face scrunched up, like under normal circumstances. Why would she want that stinky maze that reminds her of the culling hunt?

"The rest of you, do you get any chance of getting your hands on any weapons?" She asked. Luckily, two other girls from the remaining 5 could get their hands on weapons since the monsters that were abusing them loved to cut them. The problem was that, unlike Camilla, they couldn’t leave the walls of the manor and were regularly searched when they returned because the guards feared they might sneak in food for the other girls.

Abrielle then ca up with a plan she shared it with the girls a way to steal the weapons and hide them at spots where Camilla could find them then by chance Camilla could hide those weapons in the maze at locations that would be shared with everyone

For this to work they had to trust each other. Their primary defence was the magic users, but everyone had to have a way to defend themselves. Although escape felt far-fetched and the plan wasn’t foolproof, everyone had one idea in mind. Jocelyn and Penny would be pissed when they all die through a vile escape attempt.

A win was still a win.

Days seed to have gone past quickly, and the culling was close. The other service girls had gone on their rendezvous with their ’ lovers.’ They had played their parts, sneaking weapons they hid, and so were lucky enough to get so information on the bobby trap locations.

A map was drawn to map out those places. Things seed possible with an unexpected turn of little Abigail’s strength growing each day as the little girl put more effort into her telekinesis.

Despite all these, there was a simple problem: Jake hadn’t called out for Camilla. If Camilla isn’t able to hide the weapon the slim chance of escape or success will be narrowed to nothing.

A screeching sound echoed from Abrielle’s cell as the princess tried to draw on the wall. Scratching on numbers to keep track of how many days have gone already. It has been over a month now since she was kidnapped and three weeks in captivity in this hell hole. How fleeting ti was?

"Counting only makes it more depressing." She heard Becky ntion from her Cell.

.

"I just do it to keep my mind sane," Abrielle replied. It’s been so long already. She dropped the stone to curl up by the wall. It was a way of keeping warmth in this cold cell.

"Oh really, it seems like there is soone you miss dearly and can’t wait to get back to. You are a princess, right? Who is the lucky man?" Becky pushed, it wasn’t her nature to be this pushy.

"My marriage was not one of love, and I’d rather not talk about it ", the princess calmly replied. She would rather not talk about Cedric if, by a slim chance, she escapes this place. She will run to Heliosia. Rebecca had family there that might welco her, but she would rather cut everyone off and start a silent life there.

Since her magic was of Heliosian origins it should not be hard to adapt. "Do you think Hope might still be alive?" Betty’s voice ntioned barely a whisper but they all heard her. Betty’s eyes and nose were red from excessive crying.

She cried every day for her sister. "I am not sure about that," Abrielle answered. It wasn’t a straight answer but it gave her hope.

"Okay," Betty whispered.

"Betty, I don’t know if this would work, but I heard the person who bought Hope runs a cult that deals with witches. They sacrifice young girls to maintain their youthful appearance." A service girl ntioned, and the place turned silent. It was a possibility they all thought of. Hope was already dead by now. Even if she wasn’t, the chances were extrely low.

"Don’t sound like that." Betty whimpered about to cry again.

The door was unceremoniously opened, "Good morning my fine ladies. I hope you are not up to any mischief. The boys said you all have been oddly well-behaved." Penny’s voice bood as she walked into the cellar. Her nose scrunched up due to the stench.

Jake was standing behind her. It was weird for them to co down during the day. No one said anything. Her eyes darted around and then fell on Abrielle, who was looking miserable.

"Well, just know if you do anything stupid, you will be dead before you know it, and besides, I have good news for you."
