Penny’s fingers dug into Abrielle’s face, which was sared with dirt. It has been ages since the last ti she took a bath or even washed her face.
Penny pulled her face close to the bars pressing it against it. Her sharp eyes assessed the princess, whose eyes still had determination in them. Penny snickered, she was going to break those eyes just like she breaks every single one of them.
"What did you say to them, princess?" Penny snickered, amused wondering what the talentless daughter of the Nightshade family could do. Soone who didn’t even wield magic in the first place. All the girl’s eyes went wide.. "Princess," multiple of them gasped.
They could not believe an actual princess was among them. A few were from noble hos, but how the hell was an actual princess kidnapped? They could not figure out unknown to them it was just Abrielle’s bad luck.
"Why do you care?" Abrielle retorted, glaring at Penny. A sudden laugh bood in the room.
"You are funny; I won’t ruin your pretty face because we already have a buyer for you. soone that has fancied you for a long ti." Penny ntioned, then let go of Abrielle’s face, pushing her down.
"Alright, ladies, it is ti for inspection. Most of you stink like hell." Penny exclaid then signalled the guards to open the 6 cells.
Jake was the one who opened Abrielle’s cell, his eyes eting with the princess who was struggling to get up.
"No need to rush from a single line. If anyone disobeys, you have yourself to be sorry to." Penny added that the cells rattled with the screeching sounds of the cell bar being pushed open, echoing with deafening intensity.
"Let help you," the little girl in Abrielle’s cell, around 7 years old, helped her up. Abrielle accepted her hand and managed to get up. Her entire body aches.
"Thank you." Abrielle mouthed to the girl, who smiled sweetly. "Are you truly a princess?" The girl whispered into Abrielle’s ears.
The princess nodded softly and the girl’s eyes sparkled like she just saw a princess. The condition might not be ideal but it was still an honour. "That’s so aweso." She gasped trying to keep her voice low.
The banging sounds of the bar rang followed by an irritated voice. A guard was drumming against the cell, Jake looked irritated that was taking so long
"Get your skinny self out here. We don’t have all night." He sneered. Abrielle scoffed at him and then grabbed the girl’s hand.
"Let’s leave before we get in trouble." She instructed the girl, nodded then ntioned. "My mother calls Abigail." She told Abrielle her na.
"Abigail, that is a nice na." Abrielle chid, almost everyone was out of the cell aside from them and the sisters. Betty was helping Hope to move due to the wound on Hope’s leg.
"Take it slow, we are almost there," Betty whispered, approaching the doorway. Jake grabbed Betty’s arm and pulled her away from Hope, making the older girl fall.
"Hope," Betty panicked, running to help her sister, who was whimpering on the floor but was stopped by Jake, who pulled her hair and dragged her out of the cell. "Let go of my hair.." Betty cried out.
"She has legs she can bloody walk. It’s her fault for being stubborn and she got injured. If she becos worthless that’s her problem."
Betty kept one crying struggling to reach her sister. "It is fine, Betty. I can manage.".Hope stopped her sister; her teeth were gritted as she tried to get up on her feet. It was a sad scene to watch how Hope struggled with her leg injury.
"Hope," Betty whimpered, her sared face squeezed as her eyes beca sour.
"What is up with this drama? It’s too much for the night. If the girl can’t stand her, transferred, we can’t afford another one dying on us." Penny sneered, getting bored of the scene.
Everyone now knew what that ant. They were going to kill Hope, and the girl’s eyes went wide with fright. Hope closed her eyes and then used all the strength she could gather to stand up. It hurt so badly, the young girl cried.
But they managed to get up and then limped to the doorway. Her eyes glared at Jake. Hope got in line with the other girls. Each second she stood felt like torture.
After Hope left the cell, Abrielle followed with Abigail, who was in her grasp. Jake smacked her butt as the princess walked past him at the gate. Abrielle’s eyes snapped at him, but he had a greasy smile on his face.
Abrielle’s hold on Abigail tightened, and she marched to join the line. It wasn’t worth it. She kept on reminding herself.
Penny, who saw Jake’s actions, only rolled her eyes. "Okay, ladies, let’s leave this dump before I puke my stomach out." Penny snickered then waltzed out of the Cellar.
They didn’t bother to chain them because they knew there was no way to run from them. On a single file, they made their way out of the cellar to what seed like a courtyard.
Penny stood on the stone edge, her eyes scanning the girls that all lined up. The guards stood at the ends holding their weapons, while so won were dressed like workers. They, obviously not slaves, stood close to a well.
Penny was standing next to an older lady in her late fifties with a stoic expression. "I can see that the new girls are adjusting well. Let’s get this over. Proceed." The older woman announced, her voice carrying a strong, commanding tone.
All the older girls started to strip off their clothes on command, leaving Abrielle and the new girls puzzled. Becky, who was in front of Abrielle, then warned. "Better strip or you will get whipped." The new girls’ eyes went wide.
Hope didn’t waste a second more and started to strip followed by other girls. "How are we going to strip in front of so many n?" Abrielle could not help but ask.
The older lady called Madam Jocelyn who ran this branch eyes narrowed on Abrielle and Abigail who weren’t stripping yet
"Is that the princess?" She asked Penny, who nodded in affirmation. Jocelyn then clicked her tongue. "I guess we have a shy princess. Boys help the shy princess get out of her clothes." Jocelyn instructed.
Abrielle’s heart skipped a beat, this was now her life.
