Blood, Abrielle was stunned. Bernice was still coughing. She quickly grabbed a napkin to cover her mouth and then rushed away from the table.

Everyone seed confused about what was going on including Abrielle. She dropped the wine she hadn’t taken a single sip, wondering if every wine was poisoned.

A few minutes earlier, Callista was seated by Eleanor’s side while she kept on singing her praises of how brave the priestess saved her life.

The royal attendant ca to the tray carrying a golden tray containing a very exquisite wine. It was for the king’s toast. The king and Queen were served first, taking the best cup before the attendant turned to the ladies. Naturally, Callista, who was next to the queen, was ant to take her drink first, but Bernice, who felt envious of the Queen’s attention, grabbed a cup before Callista and, lastly Abrielle.

No one thought anything off about it. Bernice was always the type that loved being the centre of attention, and she didn’t like sharing the spotlight with Callista.

Kaiden stood up, followed by the rest of the crowd, and he started his heartfelt toast. "To my dear queen and wife Eleanor...."

The words faded away in Abrielle’s ears; she didn’t care about toast. Her attention was on Callista. She was poisoned in this party but it wasn’t by food. Soone had attacked the priestess when she went to the powder room and was later found unconscious after the party.

She was curious, wondering if Callista’s life would be in danger this ti. Even if she wasn’t the culprit she would be among the pri suspects.

"A toast to longevity and beauty." Kaiden ended his toast raising up his wine glass. Everyone followed behind to toast. Abrielle brought the goblet to her lips but she didn’t take a sip. She has already taken enough alcohol for one night.

There was a round of applause after the king’s touching toast. He gave the queen a hug before they went down to their seats. The party continued as normal until Bernice started coughing out blood.

The wine was poisoned. That was the first thing Abrielle thought, but who would do that? It wasn’t possible it was Eleanor. She rembered when Bernice took the goblet the queen didn’t act out of place.

Eleanor might be vicious but one thing she would never do was to endanger her daughter’s life. "I will check the princess’ condition ", Callista announced, getting up from her seat to head towards the powder room.

Abrielle had already wiped up the blood stains and could only pray it wasn’t poisonous. Her hands froze, rembering a detail: Callista was attacked in the powder room.

"Please excuse , Your Majesty. I need to take care of the stains." She excused herself leaving the table. Alfonso, who had been observing the situation from his table, got up from his seat discreetly.

Abrielle rushed out of the hall to find the powder room the ladies went to. "Where might they have gone?" She asked herself. This was frustrating, Abrielle rembered one of her greatest weaknesses was direction.

A hand reached out to touch her shoulders causing her to jolt. "Who is there?" She gasped, turning to look at the person that crept her out. Her heart literally jumped because she didn’t hear anyone approaching her.

"Sorry, you seem lost, and I thought you needed help." The person said Abrielle was surprised at his height and those blue eyes. It was the foreigner Alfonso warned her about.

She drew in a deep breath to calm her chaotic heart. "Pardon , I didn’t hear you coming. " She answered, her eyes impatiently searching around. They were the only ones here.

" You were lost in your thoughts. Do you need assistance? It seems you are not just lost in your thoughts but in directions, too?" He suggested; his tone was soft, different from how he spoke to Queen Eleanor.

"I doubt you can help . If you don’t mind, please excuse Mr?" Abrielle indirectly asked for his na.

"We can spare introductions for now. I have been to the Silver Crescent Palace a couple of tis. I can be of so help to you." He offered. He avoided saying his na.

"Do you know who I am?" Abrielle asked, her head tilted to the side. She wondered how hilarious it was to be asking directions from a foreign guest.

"Everyone knows Abrielle Nightshade, the newly wedded wife of the first prince, Cedric Von Drakkar. You are very popular." He replied. He acted mysterious. It was intriguing but Abrielle knew she didn’t have the ti for that.

"Glad you know that I am a mber of the Von Drakkar family. It is embarrassing to ask for directions from an outsider. " Abrielle stated. She was trying to map her direction in her mind.

There was a distant sound of a dry hacking sound, and her eyes sparkled. She didn’t wait for the foreigner to reply when she bolted away leaving him behind.

Her heels clicked against the floor as she ran as fast as she could closer to the coughing sound. She arrived at the door, reaching out to push the door open and she realized it was locked.

Abrielle’s fist clenched. The dry cough was still coming from against the door. She was more than certain they were here. Footsteps rushed behind her, she glanced behind to see the foreigner was the one.

"I guess you need my help now." He said he understood the situation. He muttered sothing incoherently, and a fireball ford in front of him. It was an explosion spell. He pulled Abrielle behind him, and the fireball exploded, bursting the door open.

Abrielle ran from behind him, making her way through the smoke; she held her breath as she walked inside towards the sound of the hacking cough.

The smoke cleared, and the first thing she saw was Bernice squatting on the floor, coughing. Abrielle instinctively wanted to co over, but Bernice held up her hand, stopping her. "Go get help." The princess barely warned Abrielle.

Amidst the smoke, soone appeared from behind Abrielle, placing a sharp blade on her neck. "You shouldn’t be here"
