Cedric’s horse was close by, so after a short walk from the cave, they shared a horse and returned to his private castle close to the seaside.

The prince had so questions he wanted to ask but he understood from her body language she didn’t want to talk about what happened last night.

"Oh dear, your skin is bruised," Evelyn exclaid, inspecting Abrielle’s body that has so marks from wearing her dress overnight.

"How are you able to wear it that long?" She really didn’t understand. Abrielle, who was in front of a mirror, didn’t even know how she was comfortable overnight in the dress. She was probably overrun by adrenaline.

"It will be advisable that she wears sothing simpler today," Zoltana suggested. Evelyn nodded then quickly inford the maid to bring over a simple dress that didn’t require a corset to wear.

Abrielle’s entire body was aching all over in her chest region with several bruise marks. After having a very hot bath, she was given a thorough massage, and then healing ailnts were applied.

Cedric already gave Evelyn a heads-up, so nobody should ntion yesterday’s victory banquet in front of Abrielle.

The doors to the dining room were open, and Abrielle stepped in. Her eyes fell on Cedric, who was already seated at the table waiting for her. "Good morning Abrielle." He said in a low tone.

"Good morning, Cedric," Abrielle replied, then took a seat by his side. She was nervous, wondering what he thought about last night. Was he mad that she suddenly ran off? Was he mad she embarrassed him in front of all the guests?

She didn’t say anything but just sat there quietly. She was oddly quiet and it bothered Cedric. "I was..." Cedric wanted to strike up a conversation, but she panicked and nervously spoke first. Realizing how strong the plot’s influence is now, she had to be extrely careful.

"I am sorry about last night. I have thought over it a lot and I will try my best to stay out of trouble." She sincerely apologized again which left Cedric speechless. He drew in a deep breath, but before he could talk, he was interrupted by a ssage.

"I am sorry to interrupt you, highnesses; you have a visitor that requests your presence ." The person inford them. Cedric had a slight frown on his face because he wasn’t expecting anyone.

"Who is it?" He asked in a firm voice but Abrielle had an idea. It didn’t skip his attention how she clutched her dress.

"It’s the priestess Callista Starlight." The servant said with a slight bow, which made Abrielle stiffen. Just like in the novel, after being humiliated by the princess, the priestess could not sit still and ca looking for Princess Abrielle the next day to apologize and settle all grievances.

This single action impressed Cedric because of her selfless actions and he started to lean more towards Callista’s side.

"She can join us for breakfast." Abrielle chid, which was the last thing he wanted, but she didn’t want to stand as an obvious opposition to Cedric’s and Callista’s love story because the more she opposed it, the quicker her death would co.

Cedric was stunned by her answer and felt a headache coming. Why was she saying the opposite of what she wanted? "Alright, I will inform the priestess imdiately." The servant bowed and was about to retreat when he was stopped by Cedric.

"Send her away," he simply said, then turned his attention to his plate to start his al. Abrielle was surprised and wondered if he was forced to take the action because of her. "You don’t have to send her away. Maybe she has sothing very important to tell you concerning the investigation." Abrielle chirped in.

It was like she had a personality change that made her seem more quiet which he didn’t like. Her eyes were dull as she could not even pull up her pretentious smile. He never knew a day would co when he would miss that fake smile.

"Dear wife, you are not in the best state of mind to receive visitors and if she has sothing to tell she can always say it when we et at the palace. Abrielle, you are a princess, and she is a priestess. There is no need to be wary of her." Cedric dismissed her imdiately and then glanced at the ssage.

"Send her away. The princess isn’t feeling too well, and if she needs to see Abrielle in the future, she should make a formal request and not show up until invited." Abrielle stared blankly. It was as if he was on her side.

"I would appreciate it if you stayed at ho and took care of yourself. You don’t have to force yourself, take one step at a ti." He advised out of pure concern. Abrielle nodded in reply. Her gaze went to a glass of wine on the table.

Ho, that was a vague description. The last thing she could ever feel around him was at ho. She didn’t even feel at ho in this body.

She shook her head, that wasn’t possible. Cedric was bound to fall in love with Callista if he wasn’t already head over heels for her. Maybe he didn’t feel comfortable with his wife and lover being in the sa room.

The servant left, and breakfast continued; the only thing that could be heard was the clanking sounds of cutleries and crockeries as they ate. Abrielle’s attention was focused on her al while Cedric barely ate anything.

Once they were done she got up from her seat and gave Cedric a slight nod. Abrielle had barely taken over two steps when she felt a pair of arms hug her from behind. She froze in his warm embrace. It felt unreal.

Why was he hugging her? Her heartbeat spiked up, which didn’t skip his attention. "Is there anything you want from ?" She asked him. Cedric didn’t answer. He had a lot on his mind, but he honestly couldn’t stand the way she looked. He felt she needed a hug but it didn’t seem like his arms were warm enough for her.
