[Welco User - Dorian Valen
Allignnt - ?????????????
Potential - Villain]
Dorian Valen died, due to failing in completing his task, given by the system.
Yet, due to so error in the system, he was forcibly regressed back to the starting point of this web novel story.
Chapter 1 - Imperial Capital Arrival.
It was the point, where the protagonist joins the Imperial Knights Academy.
The actual start of the whole thing.
***
What the hell just happened?
Just when I opened my eyes, a transparent holographic screen was there in front of , with the words THE VILLAIN SYSTEM, written on it.
I looked around, confused.
The chamber I was in was moving.
The faint vibrations of the wheels against cobblestones confird that much.
A carriage?
It was... lavish.
Polished wooden walls.
Soft velvet seats.
A silver tray with untouched fruit.
The faint scent of roses and incense in the air.
This wasn’t normal.
But then again—what was normal?
"...Who... am I?" I whispered to myself.
No answer.
The screen remained in front of , flashing with strange symbols.
My eyes couldn’t make sense of them.
My heart thudded. I looked down at my hands. Pale. Clean. Refined.
I was wearing noble clothes.
I touched my face. It didn’t feel familiar.
Nothing did.
I searched my mind, digging, clawing at the void for anything—any na, any image, any mory.
Nothing.
Only emptiness.
[Due to a critical system error, your mory archive has been corrupted.]
[All mories from the Host’s previous life and post-transmigration sequence have been lost.]
[Backup not found.]
[Restoring baseline identity: Dorian Valen – Noble of House Valen.]
All these sentences popped up one by one on that screen.
"Are you kidding ?", the only sentence I could utter after reading the content and understanding what just happened.
So, apparently, I am Dorian Valen, the na sounds like soone from a rich noble family.
Then, this is a system, that often appears in web novels and mangas.
And the main concern is, apparently, I have lost my mories of my previous life and post transmigration sequence.
Which ans, I was soone else in another NORMAL world, and I transmigrated into the body of this Dorian Valen.
This is all I could figure out from talking with this interactive system.
"So, dear system, how can I get my mories back?"
[You can’t. As I said before, if you regress, your mories are going to be erased from the point of death to the point where you regressed.]
Yes, this is another thing I discovered.
Apparently, I had already transmigrated in this world.
Then sohow I regressed and lost my mories in between.
And now I am at the starting of the story again.
"Is that right?"
[Yes. That is roughly what happened.]
"And I can’t get my mories back?"
[That would be impossible at this point.]
It felt like the ground beneath just disappeared.
It was like I didn’t exist at all.
Suddenly the carriage ca to a halt.
"We have arrived , Young Master."
I heard a voice from outside.
As I opened the door and got out of that chamber, there was sothing like a whole another dinsion in front of .
Buildings built like those of around diaeval period, the market beside them, the carriages all noble and rich looking, and most importantly the people and the clothes they wore.
It truly felt like fantasy at this point.
This feeling of living in a dream suddenly filled my heart with joy and relief beyond imagination.
Above all, the particular building in front of , seemingly an academy, seed to be calling .
[This is the Imperial Knights Academy, from where the story starts. Today is the orientation ceremony, so you should go there first.]
"...System."
[What?]
"You said this is a web novel story, and your task is to give tasks and create a villain out of , right?"
[Yes, that’s correct. The rewards for completing tasks would be in the form of story points, which you can utilise to strengthen your stats and learn new skills. On the other hand, if you fail the task then you would be again regressed back to the previous save point with no mories in between.]
"Then, what’s at the end of all this?"
[What do you an?]
"I an, all villains are destined to die, aren’t they? Even if I agree to all your tasks and complete them, at the end, I would be killed by the protagonist. Then what aning would be there to agreeing to your conditions?"
[...]
"No answer, huh? At least tell what would happen to after I die?"
[You would be given a choice to either go back to your world or go to another fantasy world of your choice, or you can simply die like normal people do.]
"Alright, I agree."
[...That was unexpected. I thought you would protest to the conditions.]
"No, I an, currently, I don’t have anything to do, or anything I want. Heck, I don’t even know who I am. So, I guess, being told to do sothing seems easier in this case. "
[Fair enough. You should join the orientation ceremony soon.]
"Well I have a request."
[....What is it?]
"Can you send the complete story of this web novel, so that I can have an idea of this world after reading it."
[Access granted.]

"Yeah. I got it, thanks."
"Young master, It’s ti for you to go.", a well dressed, lean built man, looking like a butler, stood before , said.
Apparently servants aren’t allowed inside the premises of the academy.
Otherwise this would have turned into a battle among nobles about who can bring in the most number of servants.
Then, I, without turning towards him, went straight into the academy gates, large enough to be called a Fortress within the Imperial Capital.
[Successfully entered the main gates of the Imperial Knights Academy.]
[ 2 Bonus Story Points]
[Story Points - 2]
Seems like there are bonus tasks for which bonus story points are rewarded.
There were many things I didn’t understand.
But that’s fine.
For now.
Cause, I am eventually going to learn everything there is, about my situation.
Only then, would I be able to make a true choice by myself.
I noticed the butler, still standing behind with the carriage, his expression unreadable.
However, considering the fact that Dorian is a villain, and how he must have acted in front of this old butler, the old man must be pretty happy and relieved to be getting rid such a nuisance.
But, I didn’t really care.
The absence of mory didn’t scare as much as it should have.
Instead, it offered sothing terrifyingly pure: freedom.
Without a past, I was unchained.
No trauma to guide my fears, no affection to tether my decisions.
I was a blank canvas—yet cursed with the knowledge that I had once been painted over and over again, then violently erased.
Most people define themselves by continuity—their choices, their regrets, their evolving sense of self.
But what happens when continuity is severed?
When identity is no longer inherited from the past but must be chosen, or worse, assigned?
The system calls a villain.
Not a na I gave myself, but one given by... what? Fate? Code? Audience?
The question then becos: is villainy a role, or a nature?
If I commit a good act with evil intent, does that make good, or does the intent weigh heavier than the act?
Maybe that’s what I want to find out.
Or maybe not.
However, there was sothing almost shouting in my ears that...
I have escaped, yet I am still trapped.
