"System", I decided to confirm it at once.

[....What is it?]

"As I am now suspended for a month, I can’t attend the class division exam. So, will there be any penalty for not completing the main task or not?"

[The rewards and penalties of a main task remain the sa, irrespective of your situation.]

"What!? How the hell am I supposed to complete the task, when I am not even in the exam. If I rember correctly, it was to fight with the protagonist during that exam, wasn’t it?"

[As I said, even if your situation is different, once a task is decided, it remains the sa throughout, until you complete it.]

"Tsk. What a shitty system you are."

[....]

It was not like I didn’t expect it to happen.

But, what should I do?

If I can’t enter the exam venue as a student, I would have to enter it as an outsider.

Well, things would definitely get complicated, if they find out that I have entered the venue forcefully, but I don’t really care about further punishnts now.

I an, in the worst case scenario, they will expel from the academy.

Now, that’s fine.

As long as I am able to complete tasks and beco stronger, everything is fair.

And when I beco the strongest, I will co back.

To destroy everything.

Not as an act of revenge.

But to send a ssage.

Like they sent one.

For that, I gotta survive first.

Having lost everything, the only things I own are so clothes and this pouch of coin, along with an untouched book on magic theory.

The currency system is really simple here.

100 bronze coins equal 1 silver coin, and 100 silver coins equal 1 gold coin.

There is one other type of coin I found within that pouch too.

It was engraved with the sigil of House Valen, which signify a mber of the House Valen is the owner of that coin.

Even if I am excommunicated from the House, this sigil alone would let get through trade routes, and restricted areas, so it would be wise to keep it, for now.

Apart form that, I had, 18 gold coins, which was pretty much what I needed.

Considering a low-end al would cost around 3 to 4 silver coins here, I had enough.

Well, I should find a place to live first, I thought, as I was leaving the gates of the academy.

It’s strange how society operates. One day you’re the heir of a respected noble house, and the next, you’re no one.

The streets outside the academy felt colder, rougher. The stone path wasn’t laid for soone like anymore. It was for rchants, travelers, beggars, and criminals.

And now?

For outcasts.

I pulled the hood of my cloak further over my head as I made my way down the cobbled road leading into the heart of the city.
