Knowing that he thought of her as an ignorant child that was easy to fool, the crimson-haired girl obviously knew just how to get on the man's nerves.
Tapping her soft lips playfully, she twirled her chair around from side to side with a smile. "You see, since you know I'm smart, how can I be stupid enough to wait for soone who denied to change their mind?"
After taking a mont to enjoy the stunned look on the man's face, she grinned. "Whenever I asked mommy for sothing and didn't imdiately get it, I would always go crying about it to daddy. And if he also didn't get it for , I would go beg my big sister. This way, not only will I get what I want much faster, but sotis they would end up competing and get sothing even better!"
Of course, such a scenario had never played out because Emilia hadn't been there during 'her' preteen years in this world, but the president didn't know that.
Even Noelle, who should easily be able to guess it, failed to realize that Emilia was just making fun of him. After all, with the personality of Sam and Emilia's parents… such a thing wasn't really too unreasonable.
It's not like Noelle was too busy imagining how adorable Emilia must have been as a preteen or anything.
As for the president, he already knew that Blue Dawn's Empress must have reached so sort of 'settlent' with his enemies for Tom to be handed over like that, but never did he imagine that Emilia actually took the initiative to approach them!
No, it's not that he couldn't imagine the possibility, but that he subconsciously expected this Empress to be too stupid to be able to think of sothing like that. The 'worst' that he expected she could do was throw a tantrum and show everyone various 'proof' while crying about how she had been 'wronged'.
And with all his precautions with the lethal substance injected into the 'assassins' and the cover-up they had already prepared… he truly never expected things to go so wrong.
Thinking about how overconfident he had been that the worst consequence he would be facing would be so criticism and severed economic relationships, the president almost laughed at himself in despair. "W-What would you have done if I agreed to compensate you when we first talked?"
The crimson-haired girl humd thoughtfully. "I don't really like talking about the past, but I guess if you were really sorry and willing to make up for it, I could have forgiven you?"
Cynthia almost laughed out loud in her mind. "My vengeful villainess forgiving soone so easily? If he was a 'cute girl', maybe…? There's no way this ugly old man was going to survive your revenge no matter how he tried to 'make up for it' later, right?"
Emilia groaned as she cut off the call. 'Don't make imagine sothing so disgusting!'

The president of Red Dusk was still wallowing in his own regret long after the Empress of Blue Dawn dropped his call, and he didn't even hear the furious knocking on his own door for almost a full minute.
It was only when the person on the other side got worried from the lack of response and had the security slam the door open that he ca back to his senses.
"W-What the hell are you doing?!"
The man who barged in breathed a sigh of relief, along with the security personnel. If sothing really happened, wouldn't they also be 'implicated'?
Of course, they couldn't just admit that they expected the president to do sothing irreversible due to everything that had been going on.
After all, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the man had changed from one of the most respected in the commonwealth to soone who was almost universally looked down on.
Not only had he lost his reputation and had his image shattered, but even his power and influence were now on the verge of collapse. No, perhaps they were already gone, and it was only the illusion they left behind that was keeping him in his current position.
Of course, it couldn't last long.
"M-Mr. President, t-there's sothing you must know…"

While everyone was busy pointing fingers at each other, very few noticed the inconspicuous girl who always seed to follow Tom around everywhere. Most thought she was just a little 'scribe' or assistant, and nothing more.
In reality, however, Mindy was the 'spy' who was born and raised in a facility belonging to one of the top-secret agencies of the Commonwealth of Red Dusk, or so she had been told. From the age of eight to as far back as she could rember, that appeared to indeed be true.
Of course, although this was where she was raised, Mindy never truly considered it to be her 'ho'.
Having been sent to Blue Dawn as an 'undercover' agent at such a young age, although she always resided within her 'sister' Cindy, Mindy thought of this new place as where she belonged instead.
But she knew that she couldn't reveal herself, even to Cindy, let alone co out and talk to others or make friends. No matter where they were, the two of them were like a 'virus' here, and the mont they were found out… who knows what awaited them?
Of course, having had such thoughts, Mindy had considered defecting over to Blue Dawn more than just once or twice. But such fanciful thoughts never lasted too long after she recalled how corrupt and unreliable Blue Dawn was. Compared to Red Dusk, it was in fact much, much worse.
Switching over to their side would only make her a tool for Blue Dawn instead. No, worse, she would then also beco an enemy of her forr 'masters', who knew everything she knew about herself, if not more.
If her fate was to be a disposable tool, Mindy would still rather belong to a more competent master. And this way, Cindy could perhaps still be a normal girl for longer… as long as her 'masters' didn't need it.
For over a decade of being a 'sleeper' agent in Blue Dawn, Mindy never had any hopes or dreams that went against her 'masters' again.
That is, until Blue Dawn changed, and an angel descended from the skies, severing the lines of thread that bound her like worthless rotten wool, leaving her stranded and gasping for breath in astonishnt.
