Were those seemingly inadvertent little frictions actually purposeful?

The more they thought about it, the more unnerving it seed.

They began to re-examine every interaction with Seraphina Caldwell, trying to find any clues.

Seraphina Caldwell was unaware of their thoughts and prepared to leave after thanking Caleb Astor.

"Thank you, Chief Astor, for informing of this news. I understand now."

At this mont, she just wanted to set off for the Eagle Clan’s border as soon as possible to personally investigate her father’s whereabouts.

Ti was running short, and the rainy season was approaching.

Who knew that Caleb Astor would speak up.

"Let Miles accompany you. He hasn’t bonded yet, is of Green Rank, and can look after you on the road."

The old clan leader’s tone was gentle.

After speaking, he turned his head to look at a young male standing behind him.

Miles stood at the edge of the crowd, tall with bright, clear eyes.

He was a renowned hunter within the tribe.

Although not yet bonded, he was already outstanding among his peers.

As soon as Miles heard his father say this, his eyes lit up instantly.

He looked at Seraphina with eyes full of anticipation.

This was the chance he had dread of — to travel with Seraphina.

However, Seraphina did not want another companion at this ti.

She frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly.

She already had five troubleso antagonists around her.

Each carried their own plot hooks, often leaning towards self-destruction or obsessive outbursts.

At this point, who had the energy to cultivate feelings?

Not to ntion dealing with an overtly obvious suitor.

Though this world valued straightforwardness and could bond upon eting eyes,

she had co from a modern context and still valued feelings more.

She was well aware that, in this World of Beastfolk that revered instincts and strength,

emotions often took a backseat to power compatibility and bloodline affinity.

Many could decide on a lifeti partnership after just two conversations or a harmonious hunt.

But she was different; she had been influenced by tropolitan views on love.

Emphasizing mutual understanding, respect, and companionship.

She needed soone who could genuinely listen to her speak.

Rather than a union impulsively decided by re attraction.

If she were to find a Beast Husband in the future, he would have to be soone she found pleasing, sensible, and obedient.

Not like the current ones, constantly guarded against her.

She quietly glanced at the stiff backs of a few people ahead and sighed inwardly.

None of these five were easy to handle.

"I already have enough companions; they can take care of well. I don’t plan to find a new partner for now. Soone as outstanding as you will surely find a match better for you."

Seraphina looked at Miles and declined Chief Astor’s goodwill in a calm tone.

This was both an honest answer and a gentle reminder.

Her current state was not suitable for accepting anyone else.

Upon hearing this, Wyatt Yardley’s expression noticeably relaxed.

He did not speak, just stood there with his head down.

No one noticed the slight upward curve of his lips for a brief mont.

But that subtle joy had indeed existed.

Just as Caleb Astor made the suggestion, Wyatt had subtly clenched his fist.

Miles’ eyes imdiately dimd.

Actually, he should have known long ago that she wasn’t planning to add another companion.

How could she easily accept his father’s arrangent...

Such imposed affection was a luxury for him.

For her, perhaps rely a burden.

He looked longingly at Seraphina one last ti.

Without saying anything more, he turned and quickly retreated into the house.

He didn’t want to watch her leave, as it would only make him more miserable.

Seraphina did not notice Miles’ change in mood.

She politely thanked Caleb Astor.

"Thank you for your kindness, but it’s really not necessary."

After speaking, she dusted off her clothes and prepared to set off.

Wyatt naturally bent down, extended his arms, and gently picked her up.

She didn’t refuse.

After all, she had witnessed firsthand what a male’s loss of control looked like last night.

She was a little afraid Wyatt would suddenly beco irritable.

If emotions spiraled out of control along the way, who could predict what would happen?

If carrying her could stabilize his emotions, it would save her a lot of trouble.

After all, regardless of whose back she was on, the journey would be the sa.

As they had walked for a while, ti quietly slipped toward noon.

The sun in the sky rose higher, making it hard for Seraphina to open her eyes.

Wyatt imdiately noticed, almost instinctively reacting swiftly.

"Let’s stop for a mont."

The others halted imdiately upon hearing him.

Next, holding her, he moved toward the woods by the roadside.

One hand steadily supporting her.

With the other hand, he grabbed a horizontally growing branch and skillfully climbed up.

From up high, he bent down to pick a large, thick oval leaf.

"Take this; it’s for shading the sun."

He lowered his head and handed the leaf to her.

In his dark red eyes glead a hint of laughter, his mouth gently upturned.

In that instant, the usual pressure he exuded dissipated, leaving Seraphina sowhat entranced.

"Thank you so much! This really is a tily help!"

Seraphina gratefully took the green leaf Wyatt handed over.

She looked up, her brows and eyes curving with a smile.

She sighed silently in her heart.

Wyatt was indeed handso, and his smile carried a certain inexplicable allure.

If only her previous self hadn’t done so many things that hurt him, perhaps they could have gotten along well.

Even beco each other’s most trusted person.

Unfortunately, the past cannot be redone.

Wyatt quietly watched her smiling face.

"In the future, just say what you want. There’s no need to hold back and wait for to guess. What if I can’t guess, and you end up feeling wronged? I don’t want to see you uncomfortable."

Seraphina was taken aback.

This sentence, why did it sound so much like private words between lovers?

She forced a smile, but did not respond.

After all, in her mind, they were not truly in a partner relationship.

At least, not in the way she had once thought.

It was rely an identity she had borrowed.

Yet Wyatt seed to take it seriously.

Seraphina was securely carried by Wyatt out of the depths of Veridia.

Yet Wyatt’s lips involuntarily curved upwards.

His expression was nothing like his usual stern silence; he seed like a different person.

Kaelan Hawthorne stood not far away, the corners of his lips slightly rising, secretly amused.

This Wyatt, he really was foolish.

The ruthless female simply gave him a Beast Core and a little comfort.

He acted as if he was under a spell.

When Wyatt approached with her, the others noticed a leaf had mysteriously appeared in Seraphina’s hand.

The leaf was broad and thick, evidently freshly picked.

She handed the leaf to Isaac Vaughn.

"This is for you."

She thought to herself that Isaac, being a beastfolk of the Oceanic Tribe, naturally feared the sun.

He usually preferred staying in water rather than coming out.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t constantly search for water sources near the camp.

Today the scorching sun made walking through the woods stifling and unbearable.

If he stayed out in the sun too long, it would be arduous for him.

So earlier, she specifically asked Wyatt to pick an extra leaf, just in case.

Isaac was taken aback.

He lowered his eyes at the green leaf handed to him.

He didn’t expect her to think of saving a leaf for him.

Soone whom she had once humiliated, even tearing off his scales.

Yet she still kept him in mind.

He slowly reached out for the leaf, his tail subtly swaying behind him.

He remained with his head lowered, silent.

Seraphina did not expect him to say anything.

After all, even his scales had been forcibly removed.

Such humiliation and pain couldn’t be erased by a small leaf.
