A few Beast Husbands stood scattered, maintaining a distance of near and far between each other.

Yet none of them wandered off, occasionally casting glances towards the center.

The spots under their feet remained around the sleeping Seraphina Caldwell.

Seraphina was awakened by a mouthwatering aroma.

She had been a light sleeper, and now her mind was completely hooked, causing her eyelids to twitch violently.

The entire person struggled to erge from a drowsy state.

The tip of her nose was filled with the oily scent of grilled at, sizzling on the fire, the aroma wafting through the air.

Her stomach imdiately started to rumble, the noise so loud it was embarrassing even to herself.

In the morning, she had only gnawed on two wild fruits, both sour and astringent.

Afterwards, she had been carried on the back of Gideon Larkin, jolting through the mountain forest.

The shadows of the trees swiftly swept across her sight, making her head spin as if caught in a whirlwind.

At that mont, her stomach was distressingly empty, as if her organs were sticking together.

She slowly opened her eyes, a beam of blinding sunlight happened to slant through the gaps in the leaves.

The light was so strong that she instinctively squinted, her vision gradually clearing from blurred.

And the first scene that caught her eye was Isaac Vaughn holding a piece of at.

He sat next to the fire, the flas illuminating one side of his face, light and shadow intertwining.

At this mont, his eyes slightly curved.

The corners of his mouth pulled upwards, displaying a smirk that made one wish to punch him.

"Hungry? Try this, I added so salt made by Evan Orwell; the taste is much better than yesterday."

Seraphina received the piece of grilled at, and as her fingertips touched the Beast Skin, she felt a warm oily sensation.

She looked down, the surface of the at was golden-brown and crisp.

The oil droplets still quivered slightly, the fragrance even stronger.

With a ’crack,’ the outer skin was crispy to perfection.

Upon biting into it, the juices burst forth.

The saltiness was just right, neither heavy nor light, skillfully suppressing the gaminess of wild at.

Chewing slowly, her eyes began to brighten bit by bit.

After swallowing the last mouthful, she couldn’t help but nod.

"Mm, this ti it’s really delicious!"

Once these words were spoken, everyone around quietly turned to look.

What?

Seraphina actually said Isaac Vaughn’s creation was tasty?

Even they found it hard to believe.

Isaac Vaughn usually spoke coldly, using hands more than words.

No one had seen him patiently grill at for anyone.

Not to ntion he even added salt, carefully managing the heat.

The sudden change was too abrupt, too bizarre, causing everyone’s heart to tighten involuntarily.

She sensed the gazes, looked up, and found everyone busily engaged in their tasks.

Those skewers of grilled at beside the fire were clearly cooked, yet no one reached for them.

She couldn’t help but ask, "Why aren’t you eating?"

Isaac Vaughn was using a slender branch to poke at the fire.

"We didn’t bring much at; it’s good if you, a female, can eat to fullness, not enough to split among a few males."

Seraphina was stunned, not expecting him to say such a thing.

She instinctively glanced at the remaining at skewer beside the fire, indeed there were only a few, and each wasn’t very large.

The Beast Husbands all had tall and bulky fras, with an astonishing appetite; this little at indeed wouldn’t even fill their teeth.

"Not enough? Why don’t you go hunting?"

As soon as she spoke, she realized the words might be slightly harsh.

Isaac Vaughn’s eyes flashed with a hint of mockery.

A female who had never seen the world.

She had no idea how cruel the world was, nor understood what resources truly ant.

Yet, she acted as if it was all natural.

"We need to travel; once we reach the resting spot at night, then we hunt. Going during the day won’t make it before dark. At night, the beasts erge, too risky."

Isaac Vaughn slowly began, his tone calm.

He knew that traveling by day was the safest choice.

Though prey was scarce, at least it ensured the group wouldn’t disperse and they wouldn’t face surprise attacks from wild beasts.

Night hunting indeed could yield more.

But if anything went wrong, the consequences would be unimaginable.

He couldn’t take the risk on the team’s lives.

Despite these thoughts, when speaking to Seraphina, he deliberately softened his tone.

Seraphina frowned, traveling on an empty stomach, what kind of matter was this?

Besides, having at but insisting on waiting until evening, wasn’t that tornting people?

Her brow furrowed tighter, her gaze swept over the surroundings, hoping to find sothing to fill her stomach.

With a glance, she noticed the bag holding the at was carried by Evan Orwell.

The bag was sewn using thick Beast Skin.

The bag was bulging, clearly filled with lots of things.

She put down the at in her hand, walked over, and tugged at the bag, causing Evan to startle and release his grip.

The opening of the bag revealed neatly arranged contents.

There were more than ten pieces of dried at, and seven or eight cuts of fresh at still bloody.

Each piece was substantial.

No matter how large their appetite, the at alone should be enough for a feast, shouldn’t it?

Seraphina silently calculated in her mind.

They were five in total, even if each took two pieces of dried at and a small piece of fresh at, it would be plenty.

This wasn’t a reason to travel with an empty stomach.

Seraphina looked up at Evan Orwell, speaking seriously.

"Evan, is this at enough for your al?"

Evan suddenly raised his head, his amber eyes wide open.

At that mont, his mind was blank.

The forr Seraphina wouldn’t do this.

She would always hoard the best cuts, carefully picking them clean, not even remnants were allowed.

The leftover bits, she’d rather throw into the fire than let them have a taste.

They could only sneak bites of the scraps while helping her prepare.

Back then, Seraphina was domineering, indifferent, seeing only herself, never caring if others were hungry.

Now?

She was actually opening the at bag on her own, even wanting to share it with them?

He blinked, blinked again, fearing his eyes deceived him.

Seeing Evan silent, Seraphina turned to the other Beast Husbands: "I said, is this at enough for you to feast on?"

Her voice rose a bit, carrying a trace of impatience.

They all froze in place.

Not just Evan, but the other males were equally stunned, their expressions like they’d seen a ghost.

From childhood, they’d never witnessed a female voluntarily share food.

Especially a female with noble roots like Seraphina.

Enough or not?

How could it not be enough?

Those dried ats were almost as large as a male’s palm, plus the fresh at—it’s enough for everyone to eat their fill.

The aroma wafted in the air, making their throats tighten.

Yet none ever imagined touching them.

In their minds, these were reserved for females.

No matter how hungry a male was, they shouldn’t reach out.

It was an ironclad rule; anyone who broke it would be ostracized by the whole tribe.

Even at their hungriest, they could only swallow quietly and continue focusing on their journey.

But today, Seraphina broke this rule with her own hands.

Seraphina watched them all staring blankly and was even more puzzled.

Couldn’t understand what shocked them.

Having at but refusing to eat, insisting on starving—wasn’t that madness?

She could easily rekindle a fire to grill at again.

Evan finally snapped out of it, his voice slightly trembling.

He glanced at Seraphina, then looked down at the at, his throat moved as he swallowed.

"If we all eat this... you won’t have any for tonight."

Seraphina blinked, her face filled with puzzlent as she stared at Evan: "Didn’t you say you’d hunt at the resting place?"

She tilted her head slightly, her gaze full of confusion.
