The basic abilities of the Dragon Knight are remarkably underwhelming. This is partly due to the high value of the ultimate skill but also because of the unique nature of the second skill.

The Dragon Knight's second skill is called Reignite.

Its effect is sowhat unique:

The Dragon Knight can burn part of their body to create a bonfire and place it on the map.

If a bonfire already exists on the map, the Dragon Knight can reuse the skill to burn their entire body, dealing fire damage to those around them.

Upon reuse, the Dragon Knight, now completely ablaze, teleports to the pre-placed bonfire.

Once at the bonfire, the Dragon Knight fully recovers their HP and regenerates their body entirely.

It’s both an ergency escape and a resurrection skill.

Of course, it’s not a skill without weaknesses. Opponents can interrupt it with crowd control, and if the bonfire is destroyed beforehand, the Dragon Knight is left without one of their skills.

That’s why Narim waited for the cavalry’s crowd control to be used up. Only after confirming that they had no more crowd control did she activate her skill.

If the cavalry still had crowd control, she wouldn’t have used the skill.

[Your ally Dragon Knight has defeated the enemy Dual Swordsman.]

Narim disappeared in a flash of flas, while the Dual Swordsman collapsed as a charred corpse.

She must have resurrected sowhere on the map at her bonfire. After a while, she would return to battle as the Dragon Knight.

In theory, this is a character capable of infinite retries. That's why the Dragon Knight had to be designed with weak base stats.

Anyway, she had secured a kill.

Beep.

The skill cooldown reset.

“Damn…!”

By the ti Vincent realized, Laura was already gone from sight.

As soon as the cooldown reset, Laura used Phantom Step.

With her speed boost, she quickly dashed over to the Dual Swordsman's body and snatched up the swords he had dropped.

Then, without hesitation, she charged toward the cavalry.

Whoosh!

The cavalry swung his lance, signaling for her to back off.

For the cavalry, this was the only possible response. The cavalry class isn’t great at changing direction. So, the only option he had was to swing wide to keep her at a distance.

But a lance is mainly a thrusting weapon.

It’s not specialized for wide swings. It’s too long and must be wielded one-handed, making it a poor choice for quick swings.

That’s why Laura easily read his timing.

Thunk

Timing her jump perfectly, Laura landed on the narrow lance.

“...What the hell.”

The cavalry was stunned.

But that shock was fleeting. Due to the sudden weight, he lost his balance montarily.

Laura had anticipated this as well.

Before they both fell, she launched herself off and grabbed the cavalry’s neck.

Crash!!

The cavalry tumbled across the ground, dragged by Laura’s grip. A blade was already lodged in his abdon.

Beep

Skill cooldown reset.

Laura imdiately rose from where the cavalry lay, his body crumpled at her feet.

Before her stood a massive wolf, mouth wide open.

“Oh my,” she said.

Without a hint of panic, she used her reset Phantom Step again.

With her speed, she dodged the wolf’s snapping jaws and drove her blade into its neck.

The Dual Swordsman was down. The cavalry was down. The mage was incapacitated. And now, even the giant wolf had fallen to Laura.

Vincent, with a sigh, thrust his spear toward Laura’s back.

It was a desperate mont.

Laura was still busy with the wolf. It would be difficult for her to respond imdiately.

If he could land this strike, he might finally take her down. If he did, the ga wouldn’t end just yet.

For Vincent, it was a blow he absolutely had to land.

Thud!

But then, out of nowhere, a sudden impact spun Vincent around.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a head rolling across the ground—it was Sina's head.

“Hah… hah… I made it just in ti!”

In a bright voice, Narim exclaid.

Having resurrected at the bonfire, Narim had arrived and hurled Sina’s severed head at Vincent.

“These crazy won…”

Vincent muttered under his breath as Laura’s sword sliced through the air toward him.

Beep.

Skill cooldown reset.

“Finally back in Korea…”

After a long, long business trip, Rion had returned to Korea.

This was the first ti he’d been away in Japan for so long. It was a pretty unusual trip.

eting with various companies took ti, but what really ate up the hours were the local investigations and data gathering.

Still, it was a bit fun, almost like a mini-vacation. There had been a gaming event in Japan while he was there, which he was able to attend—an unexpected perk.

‘I wonder if Laura’s doing okay.’

His biggest worry upon returning was his roommate.

It wasn’t Rion’s first ti abroad. He loved traveling and had been on a few overseas trips before.

But when he was gone for a long ti… well, the house would be a disaster.

Laura, that so-called duchess, didn’t know how to handle household chores.

Whenever he got back from a trip, there would be garbage everywhere, and a mountain of chores waiting for him.

It wasn’t just that Laura couldn’t do housework; she simply refused to. If she could shove it onto soone else, she would.

Laura would never survive in poverty—she’d have to hire a maid just to get by.

But this ti, there was a small comfort.

There were a few others around to help with the chores.

‘I invited Sora over.’

After all, he’d sent her a ssage inviting her over, like during Chuseok, and she’d said she’d drop by.

It wouldn’t have mattered even if she hadn’t. Chel, for so unknown reason, had half-moved into their place anyway.

Chel was decent at cleaning, though cooking was out of her league.

‘Hmm… maybe I should organize a cooking stream with a bunch of non-cooks. Could be fun.’

As he boarded the bus ho, Rion pondered the idea. It was a remnant of his VTuber instincts, always thinking up fun content ideas.

Whether he could use it or not was another story, but he might share it with Laura later.

He opened his phone to jot down the idea and decided to check on Laura’s stream while he was at it.

“…Over 250 hours of streaming?”

She was the hot topic in the community. No VTuber had ever stread for so long.

Not only that, but it looked like there were karaoke fans hanging around until she finished climbing the ranks. She seed to have just hit Master rank.

“Made it to Master, huh.”

Of course, it was only Master in Gate Conquest Mode—she still had Duel Mode left. But at this rate, she’d probably hit Master there too.

If she pulled this off, she might even get drafted.

VTubers with a lot of buzz tend to get drafted.

And this stream had certainly made an impact. There could be all sorts of challenge streams popping up soon, like a 50-hour karaoke challenge.

“Nice.”

The more popular Laura got, the better.

Yeah.

As he pondered this, the bus arrived, and Rion finally reached ho.

The mont he opened the door, the strong sll of alcohol hit him.

“Let it slide that I strayed for three years, please~♪ You’re so shaless, acting like it’s no big deal~♬”

A tall woman was drunkenly singing, her voice slurring slightly. There was only one person in EYEAI with a height like that: Ainatsu.

Soju bottles were scattered on the floor, and a mountain of chicken and pizza boxes had accumulated in the corner.

It looked like a graveyard, Rion thought.

The chicken boxes filled with bones were indeed the grave of a chicken. Why hadn’t they ordered boneless? To save money?

If they did it for the thrill of tearing into drumsticks, he was tempted to strangle them a bit.

“Zzz…”

On his bed, Chel lay sound asleep, dark circles under her eyes, her face flushed red. She’d clearly been drinking too.

What was he supposed to do now?

Was he supposed to sleep next to Chel? Hold her like a body pillow?

Was this a LuckyDakimakura mont? Those things were supposed to be pretty expensive. Was this a "LuckyDaki"?

No, more like a "DarkiestDaki."

The darkest hell and the darkest grave.

“R-Rion… senpai…”

It wasn’t a LuckyBiKi, it was InaGiKa, a bit nervously calling his na.

Upon closer inspection, Rinco and Anna were also passed out drunk on the floor. Sora was slumped over in a chair, napping.

InaGiKa was the only one left standing, sohow still sober.

Ainatsu’s drunken singing dated back to 1982.

This place had a certain nostalgic charm, like so kind of folksy hell.

“Would… you like to sing?”

Sensing his rising blood pressure, InaGiKa nervously offered.

Rion nodded quietly.

“I-I’ll book it for you… uh, what song would you like…?”

“Rebellion.”

“Huh…?”

“Rebellion.”

Rion replied with a cold stare.

He was ready to take them all down.
