I rembered that soone once asked to do a cosplay.
It was from the illustrator who drew my avatar.
I don’t have strong feelings about cosplay, whether good or bad.
But I’ve never really thought about wanting to beco a different character. I’m content with who I am right now.
So, instead of wanting to do cosplay, I’d say I’m more interested in wearing pretty clothes I don’t usually get to wear. If I ever do cosplay, it’d probably be for that reason.
Still, maybe soday I’ll end up doing a cosplay.
To keep my promise with the illustrator, and it’s also on my bucket list, though it’s probably around number 99.
But I never expected to hear the word "cosplay" just by walking around casually.
"I'm sorry, but it's not cosplay."
"Huh? But you look just like her!"
The person blinked in surprise.
Judging by their appearance, I figured they were a cosplayer.
However, they didn’t seem like a professional. It looked like they had just done it as a hobby. The quality of their outfit was a little off.
I couldn’t tell what character they were cosplaying, but their chest was huge. Quite impressive.
"Your voice is also really similar! And your speech pattern too!"
"Hmm."
Wait a minute. Did they recognize ?
In the VTuber world, there’s a term called "red pill."
VTubers broadcast with their avatars. In other words, it’s a job where your looks don’t matter.
Because of that, sotis a VTuber’s real face gets revealed due to certain circumstances. When there’s too big of a gap between the avatar’s appearance and the real face, people often say they’ve "taken the red pill."
Anyway, the current situation felt like it was right on the edge of the "red pill" mont.
‘This is awkward.’
I thought to myself.
Well, it was awkward, but not to the point where it felt like a life crisis.
I was confident in my face, so even if my real face were exposed, it wouldn’t be much of a problem.
But if I were to ask whether it’s really okay for my real face to be revealed, the answer would be no.
Even though I’m a natural beauty, the whole "red pill" thing would damage the brand value of the VTuber persona.
This could lead to a huge scolding from CEO Jeong Ho-young and Leon later.
"There’s been a little issue with my outfit."
There was no helping it.
I wasn’t sure if I should be upset that I was being mistaken for a cosplay of Aurora or if I should be relieved about it.
But for now, I decided to protect everyone’s dreams here.
"I’ve set up my hair and makeup so I wouldn’t need to wear a wig."
"Ah, I see! No wonder your face was perfect, but the outfit was a bit plain… such a sha, the quality was so high."
"That’s why taking a photo is a bit difficult. I can’t really call this cosplay right now."
I smiled slightly.
"Maybe in the afternoon, my outfit will be fixed. If you’d like, co talk to again then."
"I’ll do that! I hope your outfit gets fixed!"
And then the giant-chested cosplayer left.
I had avoided the crisis.
Well, it wasn’t really a crisis for , though.
Co to think of it, the word "crisis" doesn’t really suit .
So, how should I express a crisis? Maybe I should say, "I cleverly prevented the early warning signs of a potential crisis."
‘But still, even though I took care, soone recognized .’
I thought I could escape recognition with sunglasses and a hat.
Does this an I’ve beco famous?
At this rate, there might co a ti when I won’t be able to go out without being recognized.
People all over the world are starting to recognize .
VTubers also need to go to events in person.
It might seem strange. Since we lead with our avatars, doesn’t it make sense to just stay ho and do motion tracking online?
However, theoretically, yes, it’s possible. But in reality, it’s not.
First of all, there’s the issue of the internet connection.
If the connection gets cut off or slows down for so reason, the movents or reactions of the VTuber’s avatar also beco sluggish, which causes delays.
Of course, if the only issue were internet connection, there’d be no need for VTubers to attend events in person.
A VTuber isn’t so totem that boosts the connection just by being at the venue.
Still, going in person provides more ways to respond to issues, and since multiple setups are needed, it’s necessary to be on-site.
For that reason,
Elenoa t Chel.
The waiting rooms were close.
"Wait, did Laura co here?"
At Elenoa’s question, Chel nodded.
"Yes."
It was a short, clear answer.
Elenoa felt a bit awkward, but her excitent quickly took over.
‘Wait, did she co here to see ...?’
Noa thought this.
Noa had been selected as a Tier 5 mber of Behemoth and had been working hard for the past three weeks. She still didn’t know why she was selected.
Anyway, once this week’s match was over, there wouldn’t be another one for a while.
She would need to check the schedule, but she thought it was either three or four weeks. In any case, Behemoth wouldn’t have a match for almost a month.
So, she wanted to finish this week’s match and participate in AGSS, but things don’t always go as planned.
During the Fantasy League period, Noa had to participate in AGSS, making her very busy recently.
At this AGSS, Serenade also had a booth.
A VTuber handshake event!
So might wonder how VTubers could do a handshake event, but of course, it’s impossible…!
There are various ways to conduct such an event.
During the COVID-19 period, they even did online handshakes with QR codes.
You scan the QR code, download it, and it plays a voice of a VTuber shaking hands with you.
Other thods include simply placing your hand on a monitor and pretending it’s a handshake, or doing a short one-on-one conversation and calling it a handshake event.
Another thod involved hanging the VTuber’s avatar (on a monitor) on the wall, cutting a hole in the wall, and having the VTuber stick their hand out through the hole to actually shake hands.
...Of course, this thod carries a huge risk, so only a few brave VTubers from major companies would attempt it.
Anyway, Elenoa beca one of the VTubers participating in this handshake event at the Serenade booth.
Though she debuted around the sa ti as Laura, she was still a rookie, so she felt a bit of admiration for external events.
She wanted to see the real faces of the fans who supported her, but as a VTuber, she could only know them by their nickna and real-ti viewer count. So, she participated to get a better sense of her fans.
‘Shina-senpai is preparing to go to Japan, and the only EYEAI VTuber at AGSS is Chel...’
If Laura ca to et Chel, maybe she would spare so ti to et too?
This was an opportunity.
Noa had wanted to befriend Laura, but there had always been no chance.
She died first in "Aseorasal" due to a vaccine issue.
In the Fantasy League, there was never an opportunity to get involved.
She couldn’t join the escape room ga due to schedule conflicts.
And just recently, she couldn’t approach Laura in "Dungeon Seeker" because of Shina’s interference…!
But now, Shina wasn’t here!
Shina-senpai has gone to Japan! (Not yet, though)
‘I’m going to be friends with Laura this ti!’
Noa clenched her fist and steeled her resolve.
The tongue muscles she had honed as a VTuber would now work their magic!
She would use her witty and sharp words to capture Laura’s heart! Oh, and by the way, the "tongue work" here ans her eloquence!
Co to think of it, how old is Laura?
Early twenties? Could I possibly be older?
-"Noa-nee, we got so delicious black tea, would you like to join us for tea ti?"
Hmm, not bad…!
But I rarely use formal speech. Maybe that ans Laura is older?
Then, could we be the sa age?
-"Black tea? I’ve never had it before, is it okay?"
-"Of course, it’s fine. Oh, but we’re the sa age, so drop the formal speech, we’re friends."
-"Uh, okay! Got it, Laura!"
This works…!
Oh, but maybe Laura’s older than I think?
I rember Laura having leadership qualities. So, why is Sora the leader of the 6th generation? Could the theory that Sora is Laura’s mom be true?
Anyway, should I call Laura "nee" (older sister)?
-"Laura-nee, please give the Rosary!"
Sounds good, right?
Anyway, whatever Laura’s real age or appearance, Noa was fully prepared to accept it.
Co on!
I, the newcor Elenoa from SerenadeKR,
will show the power of SerenadeKR right here!
After passing through the animation area, VTuber-related stores and booths began to appear.
There were booths from Korean VTuber companies, well-known individual VTubers, and even booths from mid-level VTubers that were a mix of company and independent ventures.
"Handshake event?"
As I looked around, I noticed the words "handshake event."
I had heard of it a few tis but didn’t know much about it.
Should I try participating?
"Well, I’d rather try a VTuber I don’t know."
That way, I could get a fresh stimulus.
With that in mind, I entered a booth of a VTuber I didn’t even know what they looked like.
