Evan Sinclair adjusted his cufflinks while frowning, his expression stern.

Though not as impatient as his younger brother, he wasn’t thrilled about waiting either.

When it ca to patience, he wasn’t much different from his quick-tempered brother.

The two were almost like two peas in a pod.

"Rumor has it we’re attending with lady companions. If they don’t show up last minute, we might be a laughingstock."

His tone carried a hint of concern.

Though reluctant, the matter of face still needed attention.

Ethan Sinclair sneered dismissively.

"Who believes that? We’re used to these situations."

He said, standing up to adjust his tie.

They’d been accustod to this life under public scrutiny since they were kids.

Rumors and stares were already second nature to them.

They were so outstanding.

Whether it was family background, looks, or ability, they were impeccable.

But as long as there wasn’t a female by their side, soone always had sothing snide to say.

It was exasperating, these pointless rumors.

Just then, a soft voice ca from outside the door.

"Sorry to keep everyone waiting."

Selene’s voice ca from the top of the stairs.

Naturally, the people downstairs looked up.

They had assud she would be casually dressed as usual.

But as her voice reached them, a flicker of anticipation grew in their hearts.

Ethan had originally turned his head with disdain, a ridiculing curve on his lips.

But the mont he saw Selene, his gaze suddenly sharpened.

His Adam’s apple involuntarily bobbed, his heart skipping a beat before accelerating wildly.

His face flushed red with embarrassnt, rendering him speechless.

"You... you... why are you so late?"

He tried to act calm, stamring as he spoke.

"We’ll reluctantly forgive you this ti, but we won’t allow it next ti."

Selene was secretly pleased, a sly smile tugging at her lips.

Today’s outfit made her want to take a few extra photos.

She had anticipated their reaction, and they didn’t disappoint her.

Especially them, of course?

She descended the stairs slowly.

And gradually, her figure beca clearer and more dazzling in the eyes of the two downstairs, impossible to ignore.

Evan, not as outwardly expressive as Ethan, had his ears subtly tinged red.

"Why are you wearing a red dress?"

He couldn’t help but speak softly, his tone slightly reproachful.

"I don’t particularly like it."

Her long, smooth black hair fell to her waist.

As she tilted her head slightly, a few strands accidentally landed on Evan’s arm.

Moreover, her body exuded a faint fragrance.

"Do you really not like it?"

She looked at him with a beaming smile.

"I just think it’s okay."

He sounded very restrained.

"At most... it’s a bit pretty."

In an attempt to regain control of the conversation, he added a defensive remark.

"Anyway, it was the maids who dressed you, nothing to do with you."

At that mont, Selene stood upright, deliberately leaned in, and sighed softly into his ear.

"Is that so... then you’re missing out."

She said leisurely.

Before she finished speaking, she was already affectionately linking her arm with Ethan’s.

Then she winked at Evan, almost like a tease, perhaps also a test.

"Since you’re not that fond of it, I won’t bother you. I’ll just go with Ethan."

The room suddenly seed emptier.

A strange sense of loss welled up inside him.

It was like sothing had been forcefully taken away, leaving him vaguely uneasy.

Especially when his gaze fell once more on that woman.

She was actually holding his brother’s hand.

A surge of unfamiliar, complex emotions quietly rose up.

What was this all about?

Evan pondered to himself.

Sothing felt off.

It was really off.

He began questioning himself.

How could he feel this way towards such a female?

He had never experienced this state before.

Jealous of her holding his brother’s hand?

Impossible!

She was just a troubleso character.

Single-minded, always stirring up trouble within the sect.

Let alone liking her, he felt it was a waste of ti to even glance at her.

He must be worried that Selene might harm Evan or Ethan, hence that expression!

Yes, that must be the reason!

No matter how angry he got, Evan’s face was almost turning as dark as ink.

His gaze was calm, as if looking at so scenery, without a ripple on his face.

Clearly, they had been more intimate and ambiguous in the past.

"Why do you insist on holding ?"

Evan’s tone carried obvious anger, his voice low but suppressing sothing.

But as soon as the words left his mouth, he regretfully bit his lip.

He shouldn’t have asked that question, and now he felt he’d stepped into so sort of trap.

His frustrated look only made Selene burst into laughter.

"You’re my partner."

She said with righteous confidence.

"Isn’t it normal for to hold you? This is just a little interaction between partners, nothing to fuss over, right?"

She reached out and gently pinched Ethan’s cheek.

"Didn’t we agree to have a little tiger together? What, are you shy or regretting it?"

Ethan nearly choked on her words.

His entire body stiffened.

Have a little tiger.

What was that even about?

While he secretly imagined it, how could she say it so plainly?

Most important of all, she said it openly in front of so many mbers of the clan walking together.

There were quite a few familiar clanspeople watching.

He sneaked a glance at his brother beside him and unsurprisingly saw his face turning an ominous shade, with brows nearly knitting into a "川" shape.

Indeed, his reaction wasn’t good, he must be angry.

Ethan opened his mouth, trying to retort, but couldn’t find the starting point.

"You... don’t say things like that in the future, or else... or else I’ll..."

He couldn’t utter a threat, nor piece together a complete sentence.

In the end, his voice grew weaker, like a deflated balloon, sothing about him was off.

Selene raised an eyebrow, her face showing so doubt and confusion.

Truthfully, she couldn’t fully understand these brothers.

Before, whenever she’d hinted or nudged.

Both had shown a strong desire to court her, one more eager and passionate than the other.

Yet today, when she seriously spoke of these things.

They all started acting bashful, as if she’d said sothing inappropriate.

The stark contrast left Selene puzzled for a mont.

Evan’s expression grew increasingly dark.

He simply turned around and strode heavily at the front, taking the lead without giving them a chance to dawdle.

Ethan and Selene exchanged a glance, then quietly followed.

But their step seed rather stiff.

Boarding the spaceship was swift.

The process of spaceship ascent was smooth.

The group entered the cabin without a hitch, but Selene soon noticed sothing amiss.

She had assud the gathering would be set in so region of this planet.

Perhaps in a picturesque tribal territory, or a bustling marketplace.
