This ti, the Little Butterfly was completely defenseless.

He stood there stunned, wings rigid, forgetting even to breathe.

After several seconds, he trembled and shouted: "He... He actually knows how to act spoiled? There’s definitely sothing wrong with this cat! Female, wake up quickly, don’t be confused by him!"

Selene Kane sighed helplessly and hung up the call without responding.

She adjusted her position, trying to make herself comfortable, saving her strength.

She looked down at the little cat lying on her belly and couldn’t help but tease: "You really are a scheming cat, even Little Butterfly was fooled by you."

But Caleb Shaw didn’t respond; instead, he pressed himself closer to her belly.

His ears twitched slightly, and his nose grazed her clothing as if he were sniffing sothing.

Selene Kane sensed sothing strange and was about to ask when Caleb Shaw looked up, his amber eyes slightly narrowing.

In a very soft voice, almost talking to himself, he said: "Female... Why do I feel like my little cat is inside your belly?"

Selene Kane couldn’t hold back and laughed softly.

"Yes," she blinked, a bit mischievous, "I already have your little kitten in my belly."

Caleb Shaw seed struck by a sudden lightning bolt to the soul.

His whole body trembled violently, frozen in place, his pupils sharply contracted.

His lips parted slightly, but he couldn’t make a sound.

"But I’m not even grown up yet," he finally found his voice, "I’m still just a little kitten, even my claws are soft, and my fur hasn’t fully grown... I was supposed to protect the tribe, how... how did I end up having a baby so quickly?"

"Oh?"

Selene Kane raised an eyebrow, her lips slightly curved.

"Now that there’s evidence, you want to dodge responsibility? Pretend not to understand, and avoid it?"

She knew very well.

Since this child joined the army, he had maintained this small kitten form.

Daily training, combat, and missions left him hardly any ti to return to human form.

Over ti, even the mories in his mind scattered like beads from a broken string.

"It’s not evading responsibility..."

Caleb Shaw lowered his head, his ears drooping slightly, pressed against the sides of his head.

"I just... really am not ready to be a dad... I can’t even take care of myself, how do I take care of a little kitten?"

His furry little paws raised carefully, edging closer to Selene Kane’s belly.

"Is there really a little kitten inside... living here?"

He looked up.

"Then you... must be from the Cat Clan? Otherwise... how could we have a child?"

"?"

Selene Kane leaned against the cold wall, her body sliding slightly, resting in the corner, gently touching her belly.

"I’m not."

"I’ve never transford into a Beast Form, not even once."

When she first arrived in this world, she also tried eagerly to awaken the beast transformation ability within.

But the system coldly inford her.

She was an outsider, her blood did not belong to this world.

Thus, the system simply refused her transformation access.

What was even more absurd was that the system prompted her.

The original host of this body turned out to be a snake.

"No way!"

She nearly jumped up at the ti, her voice changing.

"I’m a proper youthful girl! Graceful, cute, sweet, turning heads wherever I go! Others’ transmigrations turned them into Little Foxes, soft cute little bunnies, or fluffy round hamsters, how did I end up as a snake?!"

Those cold-blooded animals, slippery, even shedding skin...

Just thinking about it made her get goosebumps all over.

Caleb Shaw tilted his head, looking confused, his ears twitching lightly.

"Then why... can you understand what I’m saying?"

He muttered softly.

"We little cats usually only play with our kind, other big beasts bully us for being noisy, weak, and dare not even approach..."

It’s rather absurd; beastn here were originally animals that refined themselves into transford forms.

Yet they still raise little cats as pets.

They cage the true offspring, teasing them, even using them to show off as trophies.

Caleb Shaw was often mocked and bullied as a child for looking too much like a common house cat.

Since then, he began to hide his true appearance.

Even in human form, he never showed his ears and tail, fearful of being scorned again.

"Because we’re a married couple."

Selene Kane suddenly looked up, smile touching the corners of her eyes, despite being thin and worn out.

But her eyes were astonishingly bright, captivatingly beautiful.

Caleb Shaw was instantly stunned, his ears shot up, fur stood up all over, and his mind buzzed.

He opened his mouth, but sound wouldn’t co.

"We are married?! We are married?!"

Selene Kane ignored the injuries on her body, the intense pain spreading from her arm throughout.

Taking advantage of his brief daze, as though pulled by an invisible force, her consciousness surged.

Selene Kane used every last bit of her strength, without hesitation, breaking into his spiritual domain.

Soon, the originally blood-red eyes gradually lost their hostility.

The red hue faded.

Those were deep, calm green eyes.

She had stared into them countless nights.

"Caleb Shaw, you’re back."

Her voice was light, almost carried away by the wind.

His body quickly stretched, bones crackling.

The once soft fur receded from his limbs, beast ears slowly folding and rging into his hairline.

The fluffy long tail also vanished in the glow.

In the blink of an eye, the little cat curled at her feet, nudging her palm, transford into a tall, upright man.

He stood shirtless amidst the ruins, straight and tall as a pine.

Selene Kane shifted from a towering gaze to looking up.

She raised her head to et his complex, icy gaze.

Within lay the fatigue from struggle and the confusion of regained clarity.

Her throat felt blocked, lips moved slightly, but couldn’t produce sound.

She had no strength to speak anymore, even raising her hand drained her.

Her heartbeat weakly thudded within her chest.

She forced a smile, a faint, bitter curve drawing at her mouth.

She closed her eyes.

Too painful, really couldn’t endure anymore.

So she didn’t see Caleb Shaw’s ear tips flush red, his fingertips tremble, eyes locked on her blood-stained abdon.

His hand raised halfway, intending to touch her, yet recoiling as if burned by a hot iron.

The scent of blood overwheld the nostrils, intensely nauseating.

He looked down, seeing the grueso gunshot wound on her arm.

Skin flesh churned, fresh blood still oozing.

Dripping from her slender arm, one drop after another, splattering on the ground.

That wasn’t an ordinary wound, it was a scar he left in his frenzy.

At that mont, guilt overwheld him like a tide, almost suffocating.

He had vowed by her ear to protect her with his life.

Yet now, it was his own hands pushing her towards death’s edge.

Before Joni arrived, Caleb Shaw hastily crouched, drawing a gleaming dagger from his waist.

His movents rapid yet restrained, pain and determination marked his gaze.

He knew there was no ti to wait for a doctor; delaying further would lead to excessive blood loss.

He could only act himself.
