"Absurd!" Nicola shrieked mockingly, her finger, with its bright red nail polish, pointing straight at Su An’an.

"Jiu Su is the recognized Divine Female. You’re just a worthless parasite who upgraded thanks to her charity. How dare you even compare yourself to her?"

Su An’an elegantly crossed her arms, tapping a finger on her bicep. "Well, Miss Nicola, since you’re so confident..."

She suddenly took a step closer, her gaze as sharp as a blade. "Then why are you afraid to let try? This is a one-ti offer. If you miss it, don’t go blaming us again."

"Fine!" Nicola squeezed the word out through gritted teeth, her blue cat-like pupils narrowing to slits. "And if you can’t save him?"

"Then that’s his fate."

Su An’an nonchalantly admired her own neatly trimd, rounded nails, then suddenly looked up with a smile.

"Oh, right. Has a certain esteed young lady forgotten sothing?"

She tilted her head as if in thought. "The bet about crawling off Black Star... or are all the precious ladies of the Alliance just people who don’t keep their word?"

Nicola’s face went from pale to dark. Finally, she whipped her sleeve around. "Follow !" Her high heels made sharp, angry clicks on the floor.

Just as Su An’an was about to move, Big Cat’s paw blocked her way.

A dark undercurrent swirled in his Gilded Beast Eyes, and he kept his voice extrely low.

"That Silver Wolf nearly killed Fei Zhao!" The end of his sentence was laced with suppressed fury.

A thin layer of frost condensed on Lan Cangming’s fingertips as he drew a sound-proofing barrier in the air. His voice was as chilling as a mountain spring. "This is too risky."

The Night Abyss Dragon Tail silently coiled around her wrist, its dark red vertical pupils narrowing slightly.

"Once your ability is exposed, the Alliance will never let you go."

Fei Zhao’s smart-brain projected a data screen and quickly scanned the surroundings. Only after confirming no one was listening did he lower his voice.

"Nicola is just waiting to get so dirt on you."

A sly glint flashed in Su An’an’s eyes as the corners of her lips curved up. "I have three reasons why I must save him."

She held up her fingers and listed them one by one.

"First, to clear our nas."

She glanced at Nicola and Raymond, who were watching them like hungry tigers in the distance.

"The Alliance is itching for an excuse to move against the Empire. If Lu Chengfeng dies, they can use it to their advantage."

"But if he ’cos back to life’ and admits with his own mouth that he used a Forbidden dicine, where will the Alliance hide its face?"

"Second, wolves hold the longest grudges."

She raised an eyebrow and smiled. "If he finds out he was used as a pawn and nearly killed by a Forbidden dicine, do you think he’ll let the mastermind get away with it?"

"Third, to draw a clear line between myself and ’Jiu Su’."

A cold glint flashed in her eyes. "Right now, the ’Jiu Su’ alias has taken the fall for a lot of things."

" saving Lu Chengfeng will make everyone think ’Su An’an’ and ’Jiu Su’ are mortal enemies."

She paused, then added,

"Besides, I’m just saving his life, not helping him upgrade. I won’t reveal too much."

Lan Cangming’s eyes flickered. After a quick search on his smart-brain, he said coldly,

"I just found out that Lu Chengfeng is a direct descendant of the Lu Family from Black Star. He’s also very close with Raymond."

Su An’an’s smile deepened. "Even better. Let them tear each other apart."

Big Cat was silent for a mont before finally retracting his blocking paw. "Be careful."

The Night Abyss Dragon Tail released her wrist and instead circled her waist warily. "Make it quick," he whispered.

"Are you done talking?" Nicola stamped her foot impatiently, her high heels tapping a rapid rhythm on the marble floor.

Su An’an gave her Beast Husbands a reassuring look and took the first step forward. "Let’s go."

「In the dical bay」

Under the pale, shadowless lamps, Lu Chengfeng lay quietly on the treatnt table.

His once-handso face was now ashen.

The distinctive dark red patterns of the "Life Burning" Forbidden dicine remained on his chest, like vipers coiled on the surface of his skin.

Su An’an approached the treatnt table, a moist, green light glowing from her fingertips.

She seed to casually push aside Lu Chengfeng’s collar, but she was secretly probing for residue of the Forbidden dicine.

The mont the green light seeped into his skin, her brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. ’This dosage is far beyond the standard for normal use.’

"Putting on a show!" Nicola sneered, crossing her arms. "Even a professional dical pod can’t detect any vital signs. You..."

Before she could finish, Su An’an suddenly slamd her palm onto Lu Chengfeng’s chest.

The instant the green light flared, all the instrunts in the dical bay blared with shrill alarms.

The brainwaves on the monitoring screen suddenly spiked violently, letting out a piercing alarm.

"COUGH!" Lu Chengfeng suddenly arched his back, spewing a mouthful of black blood directly onto the hem of Nicola’s priceless dress.

"AHHH! My new dress!" Nicola shrieked and jumped back, her Persian cat ears fluffing up into furballs.

She suddenly froze, staring at Lu Chengfeng in disbelief. "You... you’re really alive?"

When she turned to look at Su An’an, her pretty face flashed with a spectacular mix of jealousy, shock, and resentnt, finally twisting into a single sentence:

"Hmph! So what if you can bring people back from the dead? Jiu Su can help Beastn break through their limits!"

Su An’an slowly and deliberately wiped her hands as the healing green light quietly faded. "Don’t be in such a hurry to compare."

She suddenly moved close to Nicola, pointing at the black blood staining her dress.

"Explain this: why was the ’Life Burning’ you gave your Beast Husband laced with a neurotoxin?"

"Wh-what toxin?"

Nicola’s cat-like pupils shrank, and her ears pressed back warily.

"Alliance Code, Chapter Seven, Article Three," Lan Cangming’s icy voice suddenly cut in.

"Using a forbidden substance resulting in death carries a minimum sentence of exile to a Deserted Star."

The Night Abyss Dragon Tail swayed happily. "Should I help you contact the Judgent Court?"

"Nonsense!"

Nicola shot up as if her fur were standing on end and grabbed Lu Chengfeng by the collar. "You! Explain yourself!"

The Silver Wolf’s unfocused pupils finally sharpened, fixing on Raymond, who was trying to slip away.

"What you gave ... wasn’t normal Life Burning at all!"

He coughed up a fleck of bloody foam with every word he spoke.

"It was a modified, lethal version."

Raymond’s expression changed drastically, his golden lion tail stiffening unnaturally.

"Don’t talk nonsense. You just woke up, you’re delirious. I’ll go get a doctor..."

He walked quickly toward the door.

Lu Chengfeng suddenly lunged, his bestial claws slashing straight for Raymond’s throat.

A vicious glint flashed in Raymond’s Golden Lion Eyes as he erupted with the ferocious pressure of an S Level. He roared, "You’re asking to die!"

He swung his claws, intending to kill Lu Chengfeng and silence him for good.

"Big Cat, stop him!" Su An’an ordered coldly.

Big Cat’s figure moved like lightning, instantly flashing in front of Raymond. His tiger claws latched precisely onto Raymond’s wrist, and with a vicious twist, he snapped it!

"CRACK!"

The sharp sound of breaking bone was exceptionally clear in the dical bay.

"AGH!" Raymond roared in pain, veins bulging on his forehead. Still not giving up, he snarled ferociously,

"Lu Chengfeng couldn’t beat you, so now he’s trying to fra ?!"

"Fra you?" Lu Chengfeng sneered, raising his hand to activate his smart-brain. A holographic image projected out.

In the image, Raymond was handing a Dark Red Potion to Lu Chengfeng, saying in a low voice,

"Her Highness Nicola despises Su An’an. If you just ’slip up’ during the match and grievously injure her Beast Husband, Her Highness will surely favor you even more."

The image froze on the mont Lu Chengfeng accepted the potion.

The corners of Su An’an’s lips curved up, a cold light flashing in her eyes.

"Raymond, for trafficking a Forbidden dicine and attempting to murder my Beast Husband, Fei Zhao, the charges stand. You are under arrest."
