"Homade French fries are the best, aren’t they?" Lily said after drinking her tea. "You should make more of this instead of making eat dried fruits everyday."
"Though I used an air fryer to make this, it does not an you can have it all the ti. This is healthier than the ones you buy outside but as you said... too much of anything is not good." He replied as he took the empty tray away from her.
"Hmmm." She nodded. At this point, arguing with Zhou Jingren about her food was useless. She knew the other won’t budge when it cos to her health. Not that she hated it.
Lily knew she could be difficult sotis and she was thankful she had soone like him by her side. Unconsciously, Lily held her stomach. A smile blossod on her face. Her stomach was getting bigger and bigger everyday. Right now, it was a little visible. She was sure everyone would notice her pregnancy if she wore sothing that hugged her body.
"I have assigned my n to follow Chen Shi around. Also... it seems our people who have been following Madam He noticed other people following her. Do you know anything about this?" Zhou Jingren asked.
"Hmmm. I knew soone might be trying to hurt her."
"Hurt her? The Liu’s?"
"We will know soon." She smirked. She had already stirred the waters. The Liu’s and He’s were already in chaos right now. She would soon know if soone from the Liu Family was indeed following Madam He around.
"You seem to be concerned about Madam He."
"I’m not." She shrugged as the sound of thunder shook the Earth. Lily instantly looked outside, only to see bolts of lightning exploding from the sky. It was soon followed by strong winds and the loud hamring of rain.
The fact that soone was following Madam He was not surprising to her. Initially, she thought it could be Gannon as the latter knew Madam He had t with Lily before Adalind’s surgery. To test this, Lily decided to stir the waters to catch the fish.
With Qin Yuanfeng’s help, it was easy for Lily to cause a rift between Mr. He, Mr. Liu and Gannon. Lily’s purpose was really simple. She wanted Mr. He to protect Madam He.
How, you ask?
Mr. He was a known personality in the business industry. He was a very prideful person. Discovering his wife cheated on him was such a big slap to his face. However, this man would never hurt Madam He. He would not dare put his na and reputation at risk just because of a cheating woman. Instead, he would make sure that she is kept safe until the divorce is finalized.
It was quite simple. If sothing happens to Madam He, the only person that could be the pri suspect is of course, her husband who just discovered she was cheating on him. Mr. He knew this. And no matter how much he hated his soon to be ex wife, he could not just throw away everything because of his anger.
Lily knew the man was too prideful to even lay his hands on soone who he deed as dirty. He would never hurt Madam He. Instead... he would protect her.
Mr. He knew this scandal could potentially ruin Gannon’s career. This could end him.
To avoid this, the obvious action was to silence Madam He first. Now, this was sothing that Mr. He would never allow. In his eyes, Madam He was already sared, dirty. He would not allow his sacred na to be involved in this woman’s death!
Don’t get Lily wrong. She is not doing this out of guilt nor pity. She is doing this because she honestly thought Madam He... is a good ally, a pawn in her ga. The booming sound of thunder interrupted her thoughts.
"Qin Yuanfeng is clueless sotis." She used Zhou Jingren’s arm as a pillow as she snuggled closer. The rain outside seed to intensify. "He honestly thought I was evil. I an... it’s true. But he is smart enough to know I have underlying goals in everything that I do." She grumbled.
"n are different." He answered, his hand started stroking her head. "We think differently. So of us only see the color blue, green and red while won tend to recognize cerulean and li and sage and carmine. To us cerulean is just sky blue, li is green and carmine is red. Our brain is not really complicated you know."
He added. "And yes, you are evil."
Lily responded with a snort. "This is why I used the bet on him. I don’t want him to think I am training him or that I’m teaching him the ropes. It will be hard to force my way of thinking into his mind. I want him to think he is only with because he lost a bet. And that I don’t have a choice but to be with him as well."
"Good thinking." Zhou Jingren nodded. "Teaching soone like him requires patience. I believe he is soone who constantly asks the whys and hows and your thods cannot be explained by these simple questions."
"Hmmm." Breathing his scent, Lily nodded. She then closed her eyes. Her thods do not have scientific explanations. These are things that she does just because of her instinct. This was the exact opposite of her brother.
The vibrations of Zhou Jingren’s phone interrupted Lily’s thoughts. She opened her eyes and let Zhou Jingren answer his phone.
"Hm?" He lifted an eyebrow before he shifted his gaze at Lily. "Madam He is outside. Drunk and drenched from the rain. She’s crying and wants to see you. Shall I let her in?"
The ominous sound of thunder once again echoed.
Lily eyed the window before letting out a sigh. Slowly, she nodded. "Alright. Tell them to prepare the guest room." She then went out of her bed and donned a robe to cover her pyjamas and bulging stomach. "Have soone prepare so ginger tea with lemon and honey." She added.

Guys, I am not intending to offend anyone. You know , I am into leaving breadcrumbs and then connecting everything at the end. Please rember that this is just fiction. This is all in my mind.
The Africa comnt is just sothing that I wanted to drop because it is connected to resources and oil and petroleum which is where the story is going. I am trying to drop hints here and there about where we are going so I might ntion other things in the future about other countries as well.
If I offended soone, please forgive my ignorance. I am enjoying writing the novel so much that sotis, I just write everything base on the plot. I hope you are enjoying my writing too.
