The Villain’s Wife 487 Traditional Marriages
"I— " Demi stuttered, she looked at her father who was smiling at her.
"You know... why don’t we all take a seat." Lily bead and gestured for the father and daughter to sit across her. She sat and continued, "When you told that you are going to bring your son and daughter in this eting, I was actually expecting to see soone more mature. I was not expecting that Miss Liang is actually your daughter." Lily covered her mouth as she laughed.
"Ah... my friends always told that Demi does not look like my daughter at all." Jun chuckled. Pride apparent in his eyes. He did not even mind the fact that Lily already knew his daughter. After all, his daughter used to represent Singapore in an international pageant. She might not be that famous, but so elite people still knew her. "My oldest is still on his way. Please... bear with him. He just attended an online eting with so people from the US and he had to do it at 4 in the morning our ti to accommodate everyone’s schedule."
"What a hard-working man," Lily said as the attendant started serving tea for everyone. "Why don’t we make so orders?" She said before giving the attendant her order. Since Lily already had her breakfast with Zhou Jingren, she only ordered so of their famous snacks. Demi and her father also made an order.
Demi stared at Lily’s smiling face as her nervousness started to die down. She lowered her head, a gleam of unfathomable expression flashed in her eyes. Why is she getting nervous? mories of what happened that night resurface in her mind. It imdiately lightened her mood. She could feel heat crawl on her neck as she smiled.
Right. She should not fear Lily. Her father is with her, after all. Her father would never let this woman do sothing to her.
"I was not expecting that you will actually visit the country. When I heard that you already changed bases, I always thought that you will be too busy to visit Singapore for leisure."
"Ah... I never had the ti to visit places for leisure, Mr. Liang. The only reason why I ca here is that I had another eting with a... good friend of mine. At the end of the day, we only talked about business. Nothing more." She gave a sigh of exasperation. This earned a nod of approval from Jun Liang. As soone who had worked with people internationally, he had always been familiar with Lily and her company. After all, she owned one of the most prestigious conglorates in Europe.
In fact, Jun Liang had wanted to create so partnerships with Lily for a long ti now. It was because of one of Lily’s company that has a branch in India. The sa place where he had been frequenting because it was where his dicine factories are located.
"As expected of an excellent businesswoman like you." He laughed and eyed Demi. "My daughter here is very interested in learning from prominent businessn as well. I can only hope that she will learn enough to prepare herself in the business world."
"Is that so?" Lily lifted an eyebrow and looked at Demi. "The business world is full of sches. You have to tread carefully." She gave her a aningful gaze.
"Of course," Demi answered. "I am a very persistent person. I am confident that I will have the knowledge needed to face all the challenges coming my way." She bead. Did Lily think that this would intimidate her?
"Good thinking," Lily answered. She crossed her legs and eyed the attendant who was serving her moon cake. "I think in this world, won who work hard needed more recognition." She continued. "Business is practically a world ruled by n. If you are too weak-willed, those foxes will tear you to shreds."
"Hmmm... that is what I have been saying." Jun Liang nodded. "I think won are the backbone of the business world. Of course, a lot of people disagree with this thinking."
"I am actually surprised that you think that way," Lily said. How could a man who thinks like this have a daughter like Demi? She couldn’t help but examine Jun Liang one more ti. His smile was sincere and the absence of scorn in his eyes was enough to tell her that the man did not underestimate her at all. "How about you, Miss Liang? Do you also... think that way?"
"Of course," Demi answered without batting an eyelid. "I think that n in the business world. Needed their wives to take care of them. They needed soone to emotionally support them in their ups and downs. Soone willing to stand behind them. No matter what happens. In a way, my father was right. The backbone of every household are won."
"Interesting." Lily pursed her lips. "I do get your point."
"You see? This is why n in the business world would look for a stable woman. Soone that is always there when they need them. Soone that would not only take care of their house and children but also their needs. Soone capable of making them feel better, both physically and emotionally." Demi added.
A smile blossod on Demi’s face as she continued. "In the current stressful world that we are living today, a woman that would make a man emotionally secure and safe is needed. Therefore, I always believe in traditional marriages."
"That is a very good premise." Lily nodded. "This makes wonder. Are you already married? Does your husband agree with your opinions about the matter?"
"Oh, no. My Demi is not yet married. She has an engagent with a businessman, but I doubt marriage will happen anyti soon. She hasn’t even t her future husband." Jun chuckled. "Of course, I will not force her to marry soone that she does not like as well. I am just waiting for her to tell to withdraw this engagent."
