(NORTH GATE, CONTACT WITH THE MONSTER, CHRIST ITS MASSIVE!)
After the first ergence of a NightWalker, the other three made their way out, and the battle for survival began; however, the fifth and last one had yet to make its way into the open; instead, it did sothing strange.
I could feel its presence right on the other side of the gate, and if I didn’t know any better, I would believe the damn thing was staring right at .
’There’s no way this thing is smart; that ti I got trapped on the other side, I fought dozens of NightWalkers, and not once did they show any kind of intelligence.’ I thought while staring up at the gate, approximately where I believe its head to be located.
"What…what is this I’m feeling," Sonas, who stood beside the rest of the group at the edge of the platform, whispered.
"Death, you are feeling death." And it was Xilia who answered, causing the young man and even Piniki to shiver.
"Fell is correct; unlike us and anything that’s adapted to life within particles, NightWalkers are different. In the Negative Realm, no normal particles and nothing living exist; only Death reigns in those lands. Instead, they utilize a type of energy found everywhere in the world, Decay Energy, or Death Particles, whatever you want to call it."
"Just like matter can’t be destroyed, that, too, also ans Particles can’t, but that doesn’t exclude particle decay from existing. Once it degrades to a certain point or is wholly corrupted by so outside factor, it morphs, evolves, and transforms into a different and unique type of energy source. That source is precisely what NightWalkers thrive off of."
"So its Annihilation Aura…is an expulsion of Decayed Particle Energy." In one of the few rare instances where he shows that he is actually quite smart, Sonas quickly caught onto what I was saying and made a theory of his own, one which was spot on.
"Correct; much like how our bodies all radiate particle energy, NightWalkers radiate the exact opposite, and it also explains its resilience to most types of damage. Unless you can overwhelm the Decayed particles from consuming your own, it is extrely difficult to inflict proper damage to it."
"CooCoo Coo, Gaoooooo," as if it understood my words, on the other side of the gate, the NightWalker laughed in a strange CooCoo sound before emitting another one of its eerie growls.
"I thought you said they weren’t intelligent…" Stepping closer to Emilia in a protective manner, Brenden quipped, causing to snort.
"I can be wrong too, you know; I’m not an encyclopedia of everything that goes bump in the night, Marek." Rolling my eyes, I stepped closer to the gate, leaving only a few feet of distance between myself and the swirling mass of energy.
"Well, can you understand , you ugly decrepit ball of filth and shit?" tilting my head to the side, I did what I do best and taunted the creature lying in wait, and the result was entirely within my expectations, a jet black, clawed hand burst through the portal and attempted to grab , only to catch nothing but air as I dropped down, rolled to the side and slashed upward.
In an instant, 15 reinforced Geo-Spikes shot from the ground and slamd into the NightWalker’s arm, only to shatter upon impact with the creature’s flesh.
Still, it achieved the desired effect, as never from the start had I expected actually to hurt it; instead, I ant to force its arm into the air and give myself enough ti to roll out of the way to safety.
Deflection was the goal, and as the monster released an angry GAO, it broke through the Gate barrier and moved to chase after .
"Gonna have to do better than that if you want to take on FuckWalker," I shouted while tapping the collar of my suit and dawning my helt.
Next, I tapped the controller on my right wrist and instantly added Sonas and Piniki to our private comms chat.
((Sonas, all I can do is make openings; you’ll need to be on point and counter his movents just like you saw do. The attacks won’t hurt him, but it’s not supposed to, just put pressure on him.))
((RIGHT!)) Hearing my words, the young man in question rushed forward, and right as the monster was about to fly toward , it was blasted in the stomach by one of Sonas’s Kaha…cough…sonic pulse fists.
Right beside him, mirroring Sonas’s attacks, was my Father, who was forcefully punching so fast that his gauntlets were able to channel the wind pressure and fire a blast of air so dense that when it connected with the NightWalker’s shoulder, it spun it to the side for as second…but even that wasn’t enough to derail the monster.
Using the rotation from being hit, the NightWalker, which was well over 25 feet tall, did a complete barrel roll and kicked off the gate, using it like a springboard before darting toward too fast for even my eyes to register.
One millisecond, it was 30 feet away, the next directly in front of my face.
But that was exactly what I wanted because the instant it appeared, there was a faint TZZTT sound, followed by an ear-shattering GAO.
"GAOOOOAARHHH," the monster howled as all six of its eyes looked down to its chest, where both my Eskrima Sticks were firmly planted, releasing a high-voltage burst of electricity.
"Hmph, gotta do better," I taunted while jumping up, twirling my electrified weapons, and cracking the monster across its massive head.
The force of my augnted attack was so strong that there was a loud pop as my sticks broke the sound barrier, followed by another two sounds, one from the impact of my hitting it and the other from it smashing into the wall with the speed of a speeding Semi-Truck.
BOOOM
’STOP PLAYING WITH THE FUCKING MONSTER AND KILL IT TAYLOR!’ Brenden scread through the Telepathic connection before rushing up and pinning it down with a rain of compressed air blasts.
Sure, he didn’t have gear that would allow him to control his attacks, but given he was extrely bulked up and glowing with particle energy, I knew that he had fully boosted his arms to their maximum and, thus, was able to do sothing similar to our dad.
