Looking back through history, there are multiple instances of what could be considered once-in-a-lifeti occurrences. At the ti, World War One was thought to be the war to end all wars, yet that wasn’t the case; however, it ushered in modern ethics and views of how wars are fought.
It began with the Assassination of ArchDuke Ferdinand, which set off a chain of events that saw a large portion of the world fighting. Then, there was the fall of the Russian Monarchy, and with the deaths of the Last Czars, a new regi took over in its place, thus forming the Soviet Union, which would remain in power throughout the Second World War and until its collapse in 1991.
Going back even further, the fall of the Roman Empire was the catalyst for the forming of the Middle East and other Eastern countries, yet in the end, not much truly changed.
As I stood a little under a mile away from the gates, watching the four expanding and rising pillars of light reach the newly forming thunderstorm overhead, I was inclined to allow these thoughts to run through my mind.
In every sense, Arkadia was the true turning point of Earth, and upon its descent, certain chains of events were set off, and with each new event, the world beca more and more of a hostile environnt.
Sure, organizations such as the Eastern Guilds and Factions, along with the USAHA, had wrangled the chaos into submission and created a new norm for the population; however, it was evident to that things were going to be VERY different this ti around…and that was exactly what I was hoping for.
With our introduction to the world alongside Draven’s Towers, although for negative reasons, he was doing what I couldn’t do alone, and I had to give him credit for that.
I had spent years thinking about the reasoning behind his plot and had finally co to a generalization: he wanted to give the People of Earth a Soft introduction to the horrors we will be facing in the future.
Painting himself in the darkness was supposed to be my job. If I had carried on alone as I had in the Origin Tiline upon returning to the past, it very well could have been on the opposite side; however, changing the world wasn’t necessarily my goal, and converting the population’s minds to my own mindset wasn’t in my thoughts.
In the beginning, I had two finish lines I wished to reach: one, returning all my father had done for , and two, the search for knowledge. With the first goal t, all I had was the never-ending search for answers to the questions that had been bothering since the Day that system window appeared in front of my eyes.
Why?
Why had Arkadia chosen Earth?
Why was Arkadia made?
What?
What is Arkadia’s purpose?
Who?
Who made it?
Who is the person which
How?
How do I beco the strongest?
How do I control everything?
How do I keep my family safe?
How…** I *e**r** ***a*i*?
RUMMMMBLLLELEE
BOOOM BOOM BOOOM
TSST BOOM TSST BOOM
"Sigh, everything involving particles is so damn Dramatic," shutting down that last thought so that its intentions never reached the light of Day, I observed everything at a distance.
"I wonder if the world will look back on today and decide this was the defining mont which carved a path of survival for humanity…" Looking up to the sky, I caught sight of movent apart from lightning and storm clouds, a flicker of lavender as it flew through the sky, and my gaze hardened.
Thump
’He’s here…Draven Faircloth, you may believe yourself to be the victor here, but I haven’t been sitting on my thumbs the past several years; I have another thing in store for you.’
Thump, thump
And that’s when it started, over the sounds of chaos, a rhythmic thumping droned on in the distance.
Thump, thump, thump
The kind of sound that should only co along with certain conditions.
Thump, thump, thump, thump
Bringing my right hand up to the base of my helt, I pressed a small button several tis and connected to the military comms, which was already filled with a cacophony of orders being issued.
Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump,
’Draven, you believe yourself to be better than Xipher, better than , but you’ve got another thing coming,’ Wearing a chilling smile under my helt, away from prying eyes, I felt my heart begin accelerating for the first ti in a very long ti, not with fear, not with dread…but with excitent.
(CLEAR COMMS!) I shouted, causing all the chatter to stop at the drop of a hat instantly…and then…I began a speech that would go down alongside those Historic Monts that could be considered World Defining.
Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump,
(What you are hearing is exactly what you were warned of; however, as the lead shot caller for this skirmish, I can assure you, there is nothing to fear.)
(Soldiers, Marines, E-Squads, we are all that stand between devastation unlike anything the world has ever seen before and the hope of tomorrow.)
Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump,
(Before us are hundreds of thousands of undead monsters, the things we tell our children to fear, creatures that will haunt you in your sleep, and the antagonists of nurous movies, books, and stories.)
(While they may not bleed and have unending stamina, I promise you, they can die.)
Thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump, thump,
(It will be a hard battle, but you are not alone on this battlefield, and more importantly, you are the nation’s last line of defense.)
In a flash of eerie green light, the pillars of light split in half from the middle, indicating the gates were now open, and as such, the distant thumping sound beca even louder as the first mangled and disgusting heads appeared on the surface of Earth for the first ti.
(But worry not, because we are here! From this mont onward, I am retiring the na Evolver-squad and issuing us the Title we have been called for years by the masses.)
(We…Are…FUCKING…SUPER HEROS! AND WE WILL NOT ALLOW THESE UNDEAD BASTARDS TO MOVE BEYOND THIS POINT!)
