Between the Equipnt, Skill, Circulation Skill, and Technique tickets, I was sitting on a literal goldmine of wealth in item form…and then, there were the four elixirs and XP boosters, two items that were already EXTRELY difficult to get your hands on.
Elixirs are one thing; however, to receive 1000% 12-hour XP Boosters was practically unheard of; the only thing I could think of was that the 4x modifier from being the first to reach 400 years in the descent progression had to be in play.
Basically, what I an is those boosters were originally intended to be 250% boosts for only 3 hours, and I was only supposed to get one, but since I was the first to achieve 400 years, it jacked up their value in a heartbeat.
Opening up my Inventory, I went through and moved each one to a special inventory page before changing the na to detail its contents for easy access.
As with everything, unless I specified where I wanted items obtained from Arkadia placed, the cruel mistress would randomly dump them onto any open spaces, sothing that was beyond annoying, but after a little housekeeping, I organized them in such a way that I could see them all at once. The sight was enough to spike my heart rate with excitent.
’With this, I have more than enough to set up Brenden and Emilia with good skills and techniques the instant they co back to the past…and even have so leftover for Dad when Arkadia descents, giving him a leg up on the non-returners.’ As I allowed my mind to wander, my eyes drifted toward the four Elixirs, and a wry smile ford on my lips.
’It’s a sha you can only take one.’
It was a commonly known fact that all Elixirs were a one-ti use item, and if you took more than that, it would have zero effect on you...well, that’s to say the ones of specific ranks.
I say proven because it was, and not only by the fools dumb enough to try it out, but a simple command prompt to Arkadia would yield the answer.
’And as these are all Alpha-Rank Elixir, they are totally useless to , but I shouldn’t worry too much about that because when the day Earth Acclimates to a Beta Grade Planet, I will definitely have enough cash to purchase a Beta-Rank Elixir.’
’Still…after reserving one for Brenden, Emilia, and my Dad…that leaves the fourth one unclaid…’ As I thought that, my eyes drifted away from my display panel and toward the nervous Renni, who was sitting there playing with her leggings, lost in thought.
"Xilia," I said aloud, startling the girl and making her shriek in surprise.
"Ah, yes, what is it…" collecting herself a split second later, Renni gulped before eting my eyes.
"I have an offer for you, one that you are free to decline, but I will only give you 1 minute to decide." As I spoke, I reached into the void that was my Inventory and pulled out the golden vial of liquid, instantly drawing a surprised gasp from Renni as her eyes locked onto it.
"That’s…that’s…an Elixir…." Barely able to get the words out, Renni nearly fell off the bed after leaning forward a little too far to try and get a better look at the mythical potion.
"Indeed it is; since I have already used an Alpha-Grade Elixir, there is one leftover; thus, it can be yours, so long as you sign another Contract to do one thing for ."
"One thing…" Repeating my words, the hamster in Renni’s head began running his ass off as caution and fear rose up in her mind.
Cautious and paranoid by nature, just like myself, Renni knew there was no such thing as a free al in life, and if I was offering up sothing as valuable as an Elixir, the conditions for her to receive it, no doubt, had to be drastic, or at least that’s what she was thinking.
Watching the girl steady her emotions and sit up straight, a small smirk graced my lips, and a second later, I held a new monster-hide parchnt in my hands, another Soul Contract.
"Yes, it can be yours, under the condition that you swear an oath to Arkadia and sign a secondary Soul Contract with ; the terms are simple: you will bear my children until you give a son." My words ca down like a hamr on Renni as I watched many expressions transform her face multiple tis over.
Fear, resentnt, anger, embarrassnt, sadness, they all made an appearance, but I wasn’t done speaking yet.
"If you agree to these terms, I will alter the sexual clause in the original contract, freeing you from that obligation once you have completed this new agreent." Adding the sprinkles onto the juicy cake of a deal, I tossed Renni a life raft.
Don’t get wrong, while I enjoy having sex as much as any other guy, that doesn’t an I am fond of sleeping with the sa person for extended amounts of ti; all that does is make bored, so I figured I’d give her a little added benefit since I was in a good mood.
"So let get this straight," after what felt like an eternity in awkward silence, Renni finally collected herself enough to respond.
"To obtain that Elixir, I am to continue having your children until I give you a son, and if I do, you will repeal the clause and make an andnt to our original contract stating I will no longer be required to have sex with you ever again."
"That is correct," rotating the vial of golden liquid around my fingers like a pencil, I didn’t break off eye contact and waited for either another question or a verbal agreent.
"When would I receive the Elixir." Following up with a second question, I couldn’t help but acknowledge the girl’s intelligence.
"Imdiately after signing the new contract."
"What happens if I am not capable of having children in the first place, or worse yet, only have daughters." Using the voice of an experienced business professional, Renni dug deeper.
